ColourPop Forever Freshman Collection ($30.00 for 0. oz.) is a set of six cream eyeshadows in shades of the 90s, and they continue to deliver what we’ve come to expect from ColourPop’s cream formula: good pigmentation and long-wear. The set works well together, and you can easily use two or three at a time to get even more versatility out of the combination. On one hand, they’re all loose pots so it’s not as convenient as a palette, but on the other hand, they’re readily incorporated with whatever other eyeshadows you own.

90210 is described as a “greyed out taupe softly sprinkled with pink and gold glitter in a satin luxe finish.” It’s a soft, medium-dark taupe brown with strong, warm brown undertones and gold and copper sparkle over a matte finish. The cream formula makes it so the sparkles actually bind/adhere with the base color, so you can actually get the sparkles to appear on the eye. I do get some fall out if I do a lot of blending, but the sparkles that are still left on seem to stay on pretty well throughout the ten-hour wear time. ColourPop Lippie Stix ($5.00 for 0.0352 oz.) are slim, twist-up lipsticks that have a sweet, vanilla-y scent (that sometimes smells a little waxy, too) in a variety of shades and finishes. Each finish has its own formula, and all six shades in this post had matte finishes. This type of finish is supposed to have “full coverage,” long-wear, and be “ultra comfortable.” Some can be dry, others have just enough creaminess not to be difficult to use. Similarly, some have a more matte finish than others. Wear varies from shade to shade but leans towards four or longer, and some shades are drying over time.

It doesn’t dry down to a fully flat matte finish like a lot of the other shades have. It had mostly opaque pigmentation with a thin consistency that is a little harder to apply evenly. The formula feels clingier and really emphasizes the natural texture and lines on the lips in a way that makes them look somewhat shirveled–it’s not as soft or smooth as the average ColourPop liquid lipstick. I noticed the color flaking away from the center of the mouth after four hours of wear, and it was fairly drying over time, though most of the color lasted for six and a half hours. It had semi-opaque pigmentation (one of the least pigmented shades I’ve encountered in the line-up!) that dries down to a mostly matte finish. Unfortunately, as it is a very dark color, that sheerness also came with unevenness. It wore for eight hours without flaking, and it was moderately drying after six and a half hours of wear. Formula Summary: ColourPop Ultra Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a long-wearing, pigmented lipstick that starts off glossy and dries down quickly to that super flat matte finish. They have minimal transfer with some of the lighter shades having almost none for the first few hours of wear, but any time you’ve had a meal, they lose that transfer-resistant quality to a noticeable degree. They tend to wear anywhere from six to ten hours with darker shades maintaining better color coverage and wear over a longer period of time. Some shades get a little drying about two-thirds to three-fourths through the wear, while a few shades have been fairly non-drying even many hours into wear. They fade away evenly with most color loss occurring from the center of the lips if eating a more oil-based meal but the majority of color survives a meal. Reapplication has been hit or miss and tends to depend on how well it wore away and how easily the shade applies normally, but reapplication tends to emphasize the lip’s natural texture significantly compared to initial application and gives lips a very wrinkled, dried-up look. I’ve layered gloss on top of some shades with moderate success, though it will obviously lose the matte finish and will transfer and I’ll get tiny flakes where the matte lip color has lifted by mixing with gloss but has been pretty minimal. The formula had no discernible taste or scent.

ColourPop Dr. M Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep blackened green.” It’s a cool-toned, green-leaning teal with very, very subtle emerald green pearl. It’s such a cool color, and I love that it applied with fully opaque, even color, but it emphasizes the texture/lines of the natural lip tremendously in a way that makes them appear raisin-like. Despite this, it didn’t seem to “crack” when I smiled, but it was a little more uncomfortable to wear (I felt more aware of it on than other shades in the range, even for liquid lipstick). It wore for nine hours and was moderately drying after five hours of wear.

This was less of a flat matte finish and more of your traditional matte finish, and this shade had a much longer drying time compared to a lot of the range, so you’ll need to be careful as it dries down to avoid pressing your lips together or else the color will lift/flake off where the lips meet. I had very slight “cracking” with this shade after an hour and a half of wear. It was fairly comfortable to wear until four hours, where it felt a bit drying,a nd it lasted for seven hours. Formula Summary: ColourPop Ultra Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is a long-wearing, pigmented lipstick that starts off glossy and dries down quickly to that super flat matte finish. They have minimal transfer with some of the lighter shades having almost none for the first few hours of wear, but any time you’ve had a meal, they lose that transfer-resistant quality to a noticeable degree. They tend to wear anywhere from six to ten hours with darker shades maintaining better color coverage and wear over a longer period of time. Some shades get a little drying about two-thirds to three-fourths through the wear, while a few shades have been fairly non-drying even many hours into wear. They fade away evenly with most color loss occurring from the center of the lips if eating a more oil-based meal but the majority of color survives a meal. Reapplication has been hit or miss and tends to depend on how well it wore away and how easily the shade applies normally, but reapplication tends to emphasize the lip’s natural texture significantly compared to initial application and gives lips a very wrinkled, dried-up look. I’ve layered gloss on top of some shades with moderate success, though it will obviously lose the matte finish and will transfer and I’ll get tiny flakes where the matte lip color has lifted by mixing with gloss but has been pretty minimal. The formula had no discernible taste or scent.
