ColourPop Lippie Stix ($5.00 for 0.0352 oz.) are slim, twist-up lipsticks that have a sweet, vanilla-y scent (that sometimes smells a little waxy, too) in a variety of shades and finishes. Each finish has its own formula, and all six shades in this post had matte finishes. This type of finish is supposed to have “full coverage,” long-wear, and be “ultra comfortable.” Some can be dry, others have just enough creaminess not to be difficult to use. Similarly, some have a more matte finish than others. Wear varies from shade to shade but leans towards four or longer, and some shades are drying over time.

Contempo and Dazed win the prize for being the first shades to tempt me enough to finally try Colourpop’s matte lippies (maybe Grunge too. I’m on the fence). Along with several of the shadows… they’ve really knocked this fall collection out of the park, haven’t they?!

Oh oh oh Dazed is BEAUTIFUL! I am not a fan of autumn (maybe early autumn before daylight becomes a distant memory), but I feel a little better when I think about all the berry shades I can pull out.

Christine, I am so excited for this collection! I think I’ll be getting all the lippie sticks except Nevermind… and am obsessed with ‘mixed tape’ from the super shock shadow collection too.

How does Contempo compare to Lumiere, in person? I tried doing your side-by-side swatch comparison but the site told me ‘image unavailable’ for Lumiere 🙂

Colour Pop Lumiere is often called an exact dupe for NARS Anna (google this and you’ll see what I mean). Christine has reviewed NARS Anna, so if you compare Contempo to NARS Anna, that will give you an idea

Aw what a pity on Nevermind’s performance! I really love Nirvana so I thought it’d be fun to get. But I guess I’m content with getting Grunge! I’m considering Oh Snap too, I’ve been loving my lippie stix lately so I might as well get a couple!

Oh Snap is the perfect nude on you!!! I really want Contempo, but I’ve been buying medium pinks left and right so I don’t really need it haha.

Oh, Colourpop, it’s so difficult, but I shall sonehow forgive you for not naming “Grunge” Nirvana instead, or “Dazed” Courtney (Love)….
I know Nevermind failed (EPICALLY), but I just cannot help myself, I have to have it! But it’s totally foolish on my part, and I know it! Also love Contempo and Oh Snap, even though Oh Snap may be a bit light for me. Grunge is gorgeous, but I already have MAC Royally Riotous, so I probably don’t need Grunge, huh? Loving Poison, too!

Thank goodness! Because it appears to really need one for it to work. But how fun it’ll be when someone asks what I have on, and I get to say “Nevermind…, no really that’s the name!”

I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I’m bummed about Nevermind not doing well. Grunge and Contempo are my faves out of the bunch. But, I like them all. I do usually get the matching lip pencils. But, I prefer to save that expense where I can. Christine, I know you mentioned that Dazed is somewhat sheer. Are there any others that you think need a pencil to look opaque?

Dazed isn’t too sheer – I don’t really notice it isn’t opaque from a normal viewing distance. Only Nevermind is visibly sheer to me!

Thanks! I may get Nevermind then with the liner just because it’s $5 and see how they work together. The color is awesome! Do you feel like the liner will help all the issues?

I totally understand! I probably will pick up Nevermind just to see( unless you review today ) along with whatever others may look unique for my collection..maybe oh snap. I have to study them a little closer. Thanks for getting these reviews up!:)

Absolutely love Grunge, that’s a perfect shade for fall! I’m a little disappointed that Nevermind got a D; there was so much hype around it. Oh well, I’ll use that $5 on one of their fall shadows. Maybe Central Perk because I’m a Friends fanatic. or Plaid because that color is so darn pretty! 🙂

These are all gorgeous colors. I know all the reviews say Nevermind is patchy, but I love the name and color. For $5, I’d probably get it anyway and use a liner.

These names and colors are bringing back the ’90s for me !! I’m going to get Poison . Great to see it’s a dupe for NARS VIP Red — I was eyeing that saw in store, NARS seems warmer, and it’s a lot more expensive

These look great. Oh Snap is such a great nude for you imo and Poison makes your pretty eye colour really pop! Bring ColourPop to UK please!!

Oooh, I like these! I really like Nevermind, too bad about the rating but the color is pretty..I think I might get it anyway. Grunge and Oh Snap are definitely on my list!

Poison would have to be my stand out favourite of these lipsticks – fabulous colour for autumn. Looks great on you Christine – those red/brown colours really suit you.

Yeah, not so much as it turns out. It was supposed to be today, but now they’re still playing coy on twitter.

I love these shadows, but frankly, the company itself is starting to get a little terminally precious :\

aw man that d on nevermind is a bit sad because it really looks like a nice color! i’ll probably still buy it though for that price. do you think a lip liner would improve things or should i just roll with feminist? (both are gorgeous but i really like that nevermind is a bit lighter hmmm)
definitely getting poison and grunge though! i probably have a bunch of dupes for them but man i can’t help myself when it comes to reds and browns. my money has been waiting for fall makeup collections!!!

Oh my gosh. I wish Nevermind was better! I’m not even a fan of dark, dark lip colors, but I totally would buy it and give it a try if it had a better grade because I loooooove Nirvana (RIP Kurt Cobain). I mean, I might still get it anyway…
