Too Faced I Want Kandee Candy Eyes Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
I Want Kandee
Too Faced I Want Kandee Candy Eyes Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.48 oz.) features mostly warm-toned shades with a few, slightly more neutral shades in it (like a taupe, plum, deep brown, and black). The overall quality was better than a lot of Too Faced palettes, though there were still some misses and shades that were prone to fading faster than average on me (without a primer). The formula was still on the thinner side, but most shades were fairly pigmented and not too powdery.
I don’t normally comment on packaging, unless there are noteworthy things to say about it, and that was the case here: it felt particularly well-done. The palette is housed in a tin that resembles a candy box and the back shows the eyeshadows as if they were chocolates in a box.

Sparkling Cider
Sparkling Cider is a light-medium peach with warm, beige undertones and a frosted finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a soft, smooth texture that wasn’t powdery nor was it too firmly packed in the pan. It wore well for seven and a half hours o me.

Sugared Strawberry
Sugared Strawberry is a light-medium coral with warm undertones and a sparkling finish. There were slightly larger chunks of sparkle in this shade, so there was a touch of fallout during application, but the texture was denser and smoother than is typical for the brand. Normally, Too Faced’s formula has a looser press to it, which tends to result in sheerer coverage and more fallout. This shade wore well for seven hours on me.

Sugar Plum (I Want Kandee)
Sugar Plum (I Want Kandee) is a medium plum with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. There seemed to be slight micro-glitter to it, which dropped off the lid during application (didn’t notice much during wear). It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to bare skin, but this would be a shade I’d use with a dampened brush as the teture was a touch drier. This shade wore well for seven hours on me.

Hot Chocolate is a deep, reddened brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a thin texture that was prone to patchiness on bare skin. Licorice Rope is a deep black with subtle sparkle over a matte finish and a more neutral undertone. I really like Butterscotched:) And also Raspberry Cocoa and Cream Puff a bit..but not not enough to where I would wanna buy the palette.
Butterscotched is a pretty color!
Thanks so much for these information. I definitely will be buying this eyeshadow palletes. I like the pink tones but I also like purple tones too! 🙂
Happy to help, Megan!
I’m trying to decide between picking up this palette or the new peach palette! Which would you recommend quality wise and which one is more worth the money, disregarding color selection?
I think the Peach one is better.
Again, as for the Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette, I’m pleasantly surprised that it’s decent to good. But I think for anyone who already owns Too Faced palettes, this is a repeat of what we already have – maybe not exact dupes for each single shade, but the whole palette feels like something they’ve already released several times.
Oh, yeah, this is such a repeat!!
Not bad! At least for Too Faced, that is. I read the ingredients list and didn’t see that one most dreaded ingredient that is sadly overused by TF, though! No sodium saccharin!!! Still not 100% that I’ll buy it, though.
That’s good! Scented but at least it doesn’t have that ingredient in it!
Thank you for the review, Christine! I ordered this and have been dying to know how it performs. I can deal with the two misses in the palette because the rest of the shadows look so nice.. And that packaging!!! Did you find the scent appealing? Was it strong or subtle?
My pleasure as always, Brooke! I don’t like scented makeup myself!
The scent was moderate!
Loved this, thank you for reviewing! I bought it but haven’t used it yet and was debating whether I should gift it to a friend or not. I really wanted to see these color’s but not swatch my actual product. Maybe you can review the rest of the products in the Kandee Too Faced line? I’m curious about that liner she came out with and her Banana Powder.
Sorry, I did not purchase either of those items.
You can bet Musings of a Muse will get and review, if she hasn’t already. She’s psyched about the possibilities and loves banana powder.
I love some of these shades, but I don’t like the packaging! It seems a little bulky!
The packaging is larger than it would need to be compared to a cardboard palette!
Taupe berry 🙁
🙁
The shades are nothing but the usual for TF. The packaging is particularly adorable though.
Yeah, the shade range is very done for TF!
Ginny, I was thinking the same about the colours – they’re really nice but so similar to palettes TF has already done many times. I’m tempted, but not a whole bunch.
I have to disagree with you for once. I had the complete opposite “review” of the Kandee palette! I have been using this palette for 3-4 days now (twice a day — day and night looks) and I love the quality. It is so much better than the prior Too Faced palettes. The colors are rich, long lasting, smooth and not powdery. The colors are on the cooler side, finally, since every single palette for the last year has been orange/red/burgundy, which are NOT good colors on me. I especially love the lavender shade.
On the other hand, the package is so so bulky. UGH. I am going to have to depot this giant tin thing. Unless this is your only palette, I feel like the domed tin just wastes so much space. It’s so thick and unnecessary. JMHO of course but I give the palette a B+ and the packaging a C!
I’m glad you love yours!
The colors are not anything that interest me but I have to agree that the packaging is really cute.
This is, overall, a much better quality palette than we have seen from Too Faced for awhile. The shade selection seems co-ordinated, although I am not sure why TF sought to put a black in there – a darker plum, or shimmery grey would have been better.
On the minus side, these shades look like a lot of the others the brand has put out in recent years, nothing original or different.
Thank you for your review and beautiful eye look Christine.
I love the colours in this one and feel like shades I would reach for, but I’m liking the idea of this being an Ulta exclusive even if they do ship to Canada, any returns would be a hassle. lol
It feels like Too Faced keeps releasing the same palette over and over again (with different packages), they all look very similar to me. The last one that I felt interested on was the White Chocolate one, but the eyeshadows performed so badly that I gave up immediately after seeing some reviews/swatches.
I think I might just buy this palette. Thanks for the review
Taupe eyeshadow got a F. This sounds like a deal breaker for me. It’s always the first color that I hit the pan in all my palettes….
