ColourPop Celestial Powers Lip Duo Review & Swatches
Celestial Powers
ColourPop Celestial Powers Sailor Moon Ultra Lip Duo is a new, limited edition lipgloss and liquid lipstick duo. The gloss may appear aqua-like in the tube, but it is pretty transparent so it has more of a shimmer/sheen effect. I wish the liquid lipstick was more forgiving of lip lines/texture and lasted longer.

Transformation
Transformation looked more aqua-like in the tube, but it was really like a very pale, champagne gold with a more transparent base. It had a healthy dose of fine shimmer that gave lips a shiny, lightly metallic look without adding texture.
- Sheer coverage (as marketed)
- Smooth, gel-like, non-sticky feel
- Applied evenly and didn’t emphasize lip lines
- Average-wearing (3 hours), hydrating

Formula Overview
$9.00/0.11 oz. - $81.82 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to sheer coverage with "hi-shine" that is "smoothing" without being sticky. The consistency was lightweight, smooth, non-sticky, and spreadable, which made it a very plush and comfortable formula to wear.
Some shades were more smoothing than others, but I noticed that darker-hued shades had a tendency to settle into my lip lines more noticeably. I was surprised--and disappointed--as one of the things I loved most about the original gloss formula was how forgiving and smoothing it was.
The pigmentation was sheer to semi-sheer, as marketed, while the longevity was solid (good for a gloss) at three to four hours. The formula felt hydrating to wear. It had a sweet, red candy-like scent but no discernible taste.

Sailor Fuku
Sailor Fuku is a light peach with moderate, warm undertones that leaned more muted/brownish paired with a mostly matte finish. It dried down a lot lighter than it swatched!
- Semi-sheer, somewhat buildable coverage (as marketed)
- Thin, spreadable, slightly watery
- Could have applied more evenly
- Average-wearing (3.5 hours), non-drying

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have "medium coverage" that dries down to a "diffused matte finish" with "no cracking or flaking." Most of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque coverage, so they were more pigmented than marketed.
The texture was lightweight, thin, and very fluid (almost watery in a way, that being neither pro nor con!), which made it easy to spread across my lips and get an even application of product. I noticed that the formula was generally forgiving of lip texture/lip lines and didn't settle into my lip lines while drying down.
Most shades took 30 to 60 minutes before they were more matte, or else one could blot gently to achieve that diffused matte finish faster. Once the formula was mostly dried down, it remained flexible and comfortable to wear while feeling lightweight. I achieved four to five hours of wear and felt that the formula was non-drying over time. It had a subtle, sweet scent but no discernible taste.

The Sailor shade, quite frankly, looks awful and it’s an awful formula too.
Wouldn’t mind having JUST the gloss alone even though it’s not aqua! I love the golden glitter flecks!
