Matte About Hue
ColourPop Matte About Hue 30-Pan Shadow Palette ($34.00 for 0.92 oz.) is a new, all-matte eyeshadow palette that features an array of brighter, but somewhat desaturated (not quite neon), shades across pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple (well, more plum). The quality was consistent with ColourPop’s matte formula: lightly powdery at times but pigmented, blendable, and easy enough to work with. I didn’t find any duds in the palette; there were a few shades that had to be built up in pigmentation or felt a touch thinner and not as velvety but nothing was difficult to blend out or use.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Even though I “Love” this palette, I’m fairly certain that I have similar enough shades pre-existing strewn within my stash, and so I’m leaving this one alone. Now; if CP runs with the duochrome, multichrome and metallic palette that you put together, well then that would be an easy cha-ching in their pocket! 💸💸💸

I am pleased that CP didn’t run with neon shades, as some brands do when they think of ‘bright’ colours, these looked excellent for those who enjoy wearing matte bright shades.

You’re right. It’s somewhat desaturated and that’s what sets this palette off from the rest.
Oh my gosh, I really like this palette. I have mostly shimmery shades (I fear my papery, unfirm eyelids don’t do well with matte usually — or at least it’s harder to hide their wrinkliness hahaha) so this is going on my wishlist. I’m happy that it’s permanent!

Five or six really caught my eye in the yellow-orange group, like Lotta Gelato and Bus Stop, and also Iglu (one that may stay in my head) and Bop as well. Very nice palette, but still too many colors that I just don’t need.
Just checked and at the very least I have great dupes for the Lotta Gelato and Bus Stop, so I’m happy.
Oh gosh, thus would’ve been my dream palette ages ago when I was all about the rainbow eyes. These days, it’s still the first thing that’s caught my interest in quite a long time! It would be perfect if a line of cooler toned purples were included.
Colourful, fun, but still pretty wearable shades. There a few colours that I would have liked to be able to purchase as singles to round out my collection, but at least the palette is pretty affordable that if I did purchase it, I wouldn’t feel so bad about having dupes.
