Best Beauty Products | February 2019 Report

Here’s a look at the top 25 products reviewed in the month of February, plus a summary of how many products and brands were reviewed and a break out of ratings! 🙂
I think it’d be fun to go through what we used, purchased, resisted, and so forth each month, here are some questions:

  1. What were your favorites from the last month?
  2. What didn’t impress you?
  3. Did you return anything you purchase?
  4. Or successfully resist temptation?

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I have to admit that I was taken by the Sultry sale that I saw here. It has been on my radar but I certainly didn’t need it. My favorite neutral palette is Naked Basics but it might be replaced with this one. It could be the novelty of the shimmers but I find it very versatile even for my conservative work look. Really glad that I was able to pick this up. Thanks, Christine!

What were your favorites from the last month? MAC Omega eyeshadow, Lancôme Definicils mascara, Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet No. 5

What didn’t impress you? I shopped my stash all month and tried some products that I haven’t used in awhile. The one that impressed me the least was MAC Mehr lipstick because the formula feels so heavy on the lips.

Did you return anything you purchased? Didn’t purchase anything!

Or successfully resist temptation? Yes, I didn’t buy anything! I can’t even remember the products that tempted me.

What were your favorites from the last month? Youth to the People facial oil; Nars Kalahari e/s duo and Laura Mercier Rosegold used as a base; as always, Dior Rosy Glow blush
What didn’t impress you? ABH Pearl (from the Sultry palette); I actually used it today for the first time and was really disappointed by all the loose glitter that fell into my lashes, my lower lashes, etc.
Did you return anything you purchase? Nope (I try never to return items)
Or successfully resist temptation? sort of but I’m making a plan for what to buy at the Sephora event next week (you have to spend $60 for the bonus gift bag; I do want to get my daughter some Lapis oil if they have it back in stock but if they don’t, I’ll get a few of the newer Sephora eyeshadows and something other things I’ll be needing, and hopefully hit that $60 mark

What were your favorites from the last month? My favourites were the Sydney Grace eyeshadows – particularly the greens. Great shades.
For me, my favourites continue to be the Dior Bonne Etoile quint, Colour Pop Lux lipsticks and my City Colour singles in Sandstorm, Cleo and All Eyes on Me.

What didn’t impress you? I really don’t have anything much anymore that doesn’t impress me in my stash.

Did you return anything you purchase? No, this is definitely not on here in Aus.

Or successfully resist temptation? I haven’t bought any of the SG eyeshadows as yet, as I check out the dupes to see if I have similar shades. Nothing that has been released, apart from these shadows, has jumped out at me.

What were your favorites from the last month? It must be the Tarte e/s and blush palette formed as a pineapple. I can’t recall what it’s called, but I have used it all month with few exceptions.

What didn’t impress you? Any of my mascaras 🙁 It’s probably my lashes though, they resist curling, they go criss-crossing each other, and after I stopped using my eyelash serum, they are short. I stopped using the serum as I didn’t think it did much for the lashes anymore, it used to, though. Any recommendations for lash serum would be more than welcome!

Did you return anything you purchase? No, we can’t here.

Or successfully resist temptation? I did buy some stuff, but mostly skin care. Compared to what I used to buy, I think I did quite good.

What were your favorites from the last month? The Kevyn Aucoin Volume Mascara and the Pat McGrath Fetish Eyes Mascara.
What didn’t impress you? N/A
Did you return anything you purchase? nope
Or successfully resist temptation? I had my makeup done at Sephora last Wednesday and my husband asked how much money I spent, I told him I bought a lipstick and that was it. I’m holding off on the ND Bloom Blush and Glow Palette that will get me over my $60 for the Sephora Event on Wednesday and then I won’t have to spend any more money. I am trying very hard to stick to my low buy!
