Sydney Grace Eyeshadows Reviews & Swatches ("Where the Sea Meets the Stars" Look)
Abyss
Sydney Grace Abyss Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a navy blue with cool undertones and a soft, frosted finish. It had opaque color coverage, but the consistency was firmer and thinner, which I found made it appear a bit drier on my lid and wasn’t as blendable. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.
Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Aztec Ruins
Sydney Grace Aztec Ruins Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark orange-gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered evenly and smoothly to my lid. The consistency was soft, creamy, and blendable with a denser, firmer feel that wasn’t stiff to work with. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me before creasing faintly.

Buttermilk
Sydney Grace Buttermilk Shimmer Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a pale beige with warm, yellow undertones and a satin sheen. It had opaque color payoff that applied evenly to my skin and diffused easily along the edges. The consistency was slightly powdery, so I’d recommend tapping off excess product (or using a lighter hand) to avoid the slight fallout. This shade lasted well for seven and a half hours on me before it started to fade noticeably.

Deep Desire
Sydney Grace Deep Desire Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark orange-gold with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, and the eyeshadow applied evenly and smoothly to my skin. The texture was soft, firmer but not stiff to work kwith, but it could have been a touch creamier compared to some of the best textured shades in the formula. It wore nicely for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Hydra
Sydney Grace Hydra Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, bluish-teal with green-gold shift and a metallic finish. The shift is particularly noticeable applied to skin and blended out, as the deeper blue seems to recede into the background and the green-gold shifting pearl becomes more and more prominent. To maintain the blue, one needs to pat a bit more on top after diffusing the edges (and then not blend that amount much!). The consistency was soft, lightly creamy, and dense without being firm. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me before creasing faintly.

Sydney Grace Nightfall Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

Underworld
Sydney Grace Underworld Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium-dark, red-brown with warmer undertones and a matte finish, though there were slight sparkles strewn throughout. More of those faint sparkles adhered noticeably on my skin than I expected, but once I blended and diffused the product out, there were very few left. It had opaque pigmentation that adhered well to bare skin, while the texture was slightly powdery in the pan, it remained blendable and didn’t sheer out too readily on me. It wore well for eight hours on my skin before fading a bit.

More beautiful blue themed shades from SG – love Abyss and Aztec the best. Gorgeous eye look too Christine.
Wow Nightfall and Underworld are really calling to me here.
Aztec Ruins is right up my alley and I don’t typically wear blue but Nightfall looks completely amazing!
I really dig how Nightfall is a bit muted but not dull!
Just loving the eye look you did using this very intriguing and exciting color combo! The blues, golds and hint of pale green give this a tropical beach feel.
As a result, I’m likely to get Hydra, Underworld, Buttermilk and Aztec Ruins.
Thank you, Nancy!
MAC Deep Truth is being discontinued???
Sad news, it was my favorite blue… just checked the website and it seems you cannot purchase anymore.
I just hate when MAC does that… well… I have a dupe list to find a replacement.
Yes, very interesting look, hmmm. I think I like it. As for Sydney Grace, I can’ stop, but look at their Instagram swatches and drool.
