A Field of Greens | An Ode to Green Eyeshadow

If you love green eyeshadows, this post is for you; 48 shades of green from cooler greens to olive greens and everything (and I mean that!) in-between. I’ve broken out the greens into four families: cooler-toned greens, just barely warm-toned greens, more balanced (but warm-toned) greens, and olive-toned greens arranged lightest to darkest (for the most part).

If you need some look inspiration, check out all of the looks submitted by users and myself within the green color category.  Here are some of my favorite looks that I’ve shared as well:  gold/bronze/green, tropical greens with a pop of pink, mint & emerald greens, chartreuse & olive greens, smoky emeralds, and smoky golds & olives.

Cooler-Toned Slightly Warm-Toned Warm-Toned Olive-Toned

Cool & Crisp | Cooler-Toned

A Touch of Envy | Subtly Warm-Toned

On the Fairway | Warm-Toned

Olives on Display | Olive-Toned

My perfect post. Thank you so much, Christine. So many wonderful greens. You don’t realize how many there already are until you see a post like this and I have quite a few but there are still some that I am drooling over! In particular I really want to pick up some of the Sydney Grace greens. In my book, you can never have enough green shades!

Thank you for posting this, as I needed it in order to talk myself completely out of ordering the Melt pot palette ?
So many of the above are sitting on my WL. Some for a very long time. I tend to forget what’s on it after awhile, these types of posts serve as excellent reminders. Plus, they rekindle whatever feels I had when I first read reviews of them and ooh’d and ahh’d over their respective swatches!

I feel just the same. So useful to have this as Smoke Sessions reappears. I really love the range between slightly warm and practically Chartreuse the most. I also like true greens- that are at the midpoint of the spectrum. So there’s no point in getting SS when those shades are very cool or almost too bordering orange on me. Especially as Sidney Grace is coming up with a new green bundle! Thanks, Christine. Also I just went through my stash and located all of my Chanel Yeux Stylo green liners. So happy I got them before they went to the thick style smudge stick. Hope that goes away and the skinny ones come back.

Thank you for this, it must have been quite a lot of work. All those beautiful colors, just pure eye candy. I have green eyes so I feel like I shouldn’t want green eyeshadow, but I just always do!

I love greens! My husband is away so I’m wearing all my greens. He’s not fond of that color. He wasn’t fond of orange neither until a couple of years ago they started calling it coral, then he was down for that. Now my closet has quite a bit of “coral” in it lol! He’s so weird!

Love, love, love greens. Especially the envy, fairway and olive sets. Always on the hunt for the perfect green. So many brands put in too much blue/aqua and I’m always on the hunt for that perfect green. This is such a great display of options. Thanks for posting!

Ah! … greens … one of the projects on my life list — I really want to get good at incorporating greens in my eye looks, but I’ve barely scratched the surface. Cool greens are the most challenging for me, as they make me look completely washed out; neutral, light, sage-y (greyed) greens too. I’m much more successful with dark, intense blue-greens, and the entire range of warm greens, from pale (especially near-yellows) to dark, forest to olive. But even the ones I know work for me are challenging. Gotta get better!
