ColourPop Spring 2017 Pressed Shadows (Part 2) Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Game Changer
ColourPop Game Changer Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.042 oz.) is a light, golden green with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had intense color payoff with a smooth, blendable texture that was a little looser in the pan, and it was easy to get too much product on the brush, so I’d recommend using a lighter touch and going easy initially! The color wore for just over eight hours on me.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Checkmate
ColourPop Checkmate Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.042 oz.) is a light-medium, springy green with warm, yellowish undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had medium, buildable color coverage (to semi-opaque without a primer) paired with a slightly dusty, thinner texture that was prone to sheering out (hence the inability to build it to opaque coverage on its own). This shade lasted for six and a half hours on me before fading.

Up and Up
ColourPop Up and Up Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.042 oz.) is a muted, medium green with cooler undertones and a warmer, golden sheen. It was like a mint green and a grass green were layered together for something that seemed warmer than cooler, but it had a lot of depth. The color payoff was opaque, while the eyeshadow felt smooth and soft to the touch. It blended out well and wore for eight hours before fading.

Sideline
ColourPop Sideline Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.042 oz.) is a medium-dark olive green with warm, brown undertones and a pearly sheen. It had excellent pigmentation that applied smoothly and evenly on the skin. The powder felt soft, smooth, and almost cream-like–a great balance of density and firmness without making it a difficult product to blend out on the skin. It wore well for eight hours on me.

I have Checkmate, haven’t tested on my lids yet, but it did swatch kind of sheer, hoping I can build it up over a matte cream base. Team Captain is a big winner–I wore it over primer, and it lasted +12 hrs on me. Will need to go back and grab all of the other greens, perfect for spring and my brown eyes
I bet a matte base will do it! 🙂
Super look! Greens always flatter you so well. Oh, yeah, the shadows are nice, too.
Thank you, KJH!
Aside from Checkmate, these are all beautiful greens. These are going on my “to get” list.
I’m so glad they came out with greens but wish they weren’t LE!
Some very pretty shades here. I like a green eye shadow so a couple of these are on my list. Love the eye look, Christine. I think I say that every time but you do such a wonderful job highlighting the shadows in your eye looks.
Aw, thank you Deborah!
I love all of the shimmery greens (my favourite eye shadow looks are shimmery green on the lid and warm brown in the crease!) up and up is my absolute favorite here, but I ADORE them all omg!!! I need to order the three shimmery greens here!
???????!
I’m a fiend for green, too!
I always thought my eyes were straight, pure, reddish brown. But since I’v been wearing red shadow on the lids, i’v learned my eyes have 20% green in the center!
So I’v been all about bringing out the hazel-y/green portion of my eyes lately!!!
So i’v been rocking a LOT of green lately! 😛
Game Changer and Up And Up will definitely be mine! Such gorgeous shades of green!
And I just knew Sideline looked very familiar; I have 2 of its dupes. Nars Pasiphae and Buxom Rose-Gold. And I now know that it in order to bring out their beauty better, I need to use a good MATTE dark green with them. Probably KVD Moss would do! Or I’ll get Team Captain if needed.
Up and Up is a fun one to work with!
Oh my gosh – Game Changer, Up and Up and Sideline are gorgeous. I’m glad I’ve got dupes for them. The eye look you did is so creative and so different from what I’d have expected.
Game Changer is a totally Mariella kind of shade. I thought of you instantly when swatching it!
Yes, I so happy the olive greens got good review! Those were the ones I was most interested in.
Question about the description for Up and Up. When you wrote “layered together for something that seemed warmer THAN cooler”, did you mean “warmer THEN cooler”? “Than” implies that it’s warmer-toned while “then” implies it shifts from warm-to-cool. Just curious since your swatch/description made me interested in that color.
No, I meant that it appeared warmer overall, despite the cooler undertones.
Up and Up is really nice, I love seeing cool undertoned products with a warm pearl instead.
It is an interesting kind of color!
I do like these greens for spring. Nice collection.
Me too! 🙂
I like the olive shade
Nice! 🙂
Oh yes! I cannot wait to get these.
Oh my, I am SO loving all these beautiful greens – especially Game Changer, Up and Up and Sideline. What’s interesting is that lovely, but old Guerlain’s Coup de Foundre shades are the only genuine dupes for some of the colours. However, these are much more inexpensive and represent a much better value for your dollar.
Gorgeous eye look Christine.
I love the look you did with this Christine 🙂
These shades of green go so well together! I especially like Sideline- that brown undertone is lovely.
I love all these greens! Perfect for the upcoming spring! Love the eye look you did, so fresh and pretty!
