Green Mist

Sydney Grace Green Mist Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright aqua green with subtle, cooler undertones and warmer, green-gold shifting shimmer. It had a very smooth, lightly creamy texture that was denser without being too firmly pressed in the pan. The eyeshadow had nearly opaque pigmentation that built up easily to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. It stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

$6.25/0.06 oz. - $104.17 Per Ounce

The shimmer eyeshadows are more consistent in pigmentation with the majority of shades having opaque color coverage. The more metallic/sparkly the shade is, the creamier and more emollient the eyeshadow felt in the pan, which often yielded really smooth application and good adherence to the lid, though a few worked better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for true-to-pan color or to get a truer finish/sheen.

Most shades, however, worked well with brushes, and I didn't have trouble applying or blending out most of the shimmer shades. The more satin to pearl like finishes tend to feel a little thinner but blend out well. These shades wore between eight and nine hours on me with some of the more foiled-like shades creasing noticeably at the end (and the less foiled-like ones fading).

Indiana Love

Sydney Grace Indiana Love Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep, inky blue with a satin finish. It had opaque color payoff that adhered well to bare skin and blended out fairly readily, though the deeper hue paired with the pigmentation made it take more effort than a dark brown would. The consistency was soft, slightly powdery in the pan, but I didn’t have trouble with fallout. It wore well for eight hours before I noticed any fading.

FURTHER READING: Formula Overview for details on general performance and characteristics (like scent).

Formula Overview

$5.25/0.06 oz. - $87.50 Per Ounce

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

JB

Sydney Grace JB Shimmer Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, medium blue with strong, cool undertones and a frosted sheen. The texture was denser and felt a bit emollient to the touch, and I found it necessary to use a heavier hand/more of a pushing motion to pick up product evenly with my brush. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that adhered well to bare skin with a pressing motion (sweeping wouldn’t deposit product well). It lasted nicely for eight hours on me before creasing faintly.

Sydney Grace Lemonade Pressed Pigment Shadow ($6.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, lemony yellow with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had rich color payoff in a single layer, which applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even application that blended out with ease along the edges. The texture was lightly creamy, dense without becoming too firmly pressed in the pan that it inhibited pick up of product, and wasn’t prone to fallout. Scuba Diver

Sydney Grace Scuba Diver Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a light-medium, bluish-teal with cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that applied beautifully to bare skin–it maintained its intensity and coverage while still diffusing easily along the edges for a seamless blend. The consistency was soft and velvety, substantial without being too powdery or thick. It wore well for eight hours before it started to fade on me.

Sea Foam

Sydney Grace Sea Foam Matte Shadow ($5.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a pale green with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage that had to be built up to get to full opacity. The eyeshadow had a soft, lightly powdery consistency, though the powder seemed to grip onto my skin well without a primer but would be a shade I’d recommend using with primer to get the most out of it. It lasted for just over seven and a half hours on me before I noticed slight fading.
