L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
L’Oreal Petite Perle Colour Riche Eyeshadow
L’Oreal Colour Riche Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to be “soft, velvety” in texture with “intense pigments for exquisite color richness” and “lasts all day.” The texture is incredibly soft; to the point where I’m not sure these would travel as well as your average powder eyeshadow. The lighter, more matte shades are very white-based and can look chalky on my skin tone but should work better on fairer skin tones or coupled with a smoothing primer. Most of the shades were fairly pigmented and blendable on the lid with good adhesion without a primer with a few exceptions. Unsurprisingly, neutrals were more consistently higher-performing than the bolder/more colorful shades. I did run into wear issues, as all the shades I tried either faded and/or creased within six hours of wear, so I would recommend a primer with these. Initially, they reminded me of formulas like Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow, Kat Von D Metal Crush, etc., but while these have a similar velvety, smooth feel, they are looser once you touch your brush to them.
L’Oreal Petite Perle Colour Riche Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a light white with subtle, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a fairly smooth texture, but it was harder to apply on the lid without it applying unevenly (almost like the color bunched up/thickened in places). The color started to crease after six hours of wear. Sephora + Pantone Universe Antique White (LE, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Crystal Avalanche (DC, $17.00) is cooler, better quality (95% similar). NARS Rue Allent (Left) (LE, ) is darker (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Cobalt Rush #1 (P, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). L’Oreal Green Promenade Colour Riche Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, dark green with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had a really soft, lightly loosened consistency in the pan, so there was some fall out during application, but it adhered well enough that I didn’t have issues with further fall out during wear (though it creased after six hours). bareMinerals Midnight Luminance (LE, ) is darker, warmer (85% similar). L’Oreal Teal Couture Colour Riche Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark green-teal with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had a drier, firmer texture that made it harder to get decent color payoff out of it. I also had issues with applying it to my lid, as it didn’t seem to blend out without becoming patchy/uneven. L’Oreal Grand Bleu Colour Riche Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark blue with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. These shades are still soo pretty though even though they are slight sheer… But I’ve only realty worn Petite Perle, Grand Bleu, and Teal Couture as not a full lid colour.
Green Promenade and Argentic are not sold in Canada yet. 🙁
How do you like Teal Couture?
Over a primer not bad, but it was strange on the wear time. The intensity would fade but the colour was still going.
Oooh, LOVE your eye look!! Ok, I will need to get Meet Me in Paris for sure, since it’s hard to find a decent matte gray, and I’m hoping primer will extend the wear time. And Green Promenade, because it looks like a dupe for Chanel Green Griffith, which I couldn’t justify getting due to price. I have dupes for the other the blue, teal, and black. BTW, where is the swatch for Argentic?
Should be fixed now! So sorry about that!!
I’m in love with that aquatic eye look!
I loved the combination of colors, but the end result looked so patchy because of the teal shade!
Green Promenade is the one colour I really want and for some annoying reason, it’s not available in Canada. I don’t know if there is some ingredient that is the problem or if they have opted for a limited release here but it’s most annoying!
It is bizarre that there are some shades not available in Canada!
Your eye look is sooooo beautiful! But on their own the shades don’t really wow me.
Thank you! I wish it actually looked good to me… combo, sure, but the result? Ugh.
I was hoping the blues and greens would be slightly better but they still aren’t bad for occasional use. I would probably only use them as light washes and soft liners. I don’t need incredible wear time currently so it might a fun budget friendly was to experiment some.
True! If they’re not shades one uses a lot, it’s a good way to have them in your stash without breaking the bank.
I can honestly say that none of these are something I would purchase. First off, I have way better performing dupes for the few shades that look pretty (colorwise!), and the others are shades I almost never wear anyway.
I’ll stick to Nyx or Colourpop for inexpensive eye shadows that actually work in practice.
Glad you have some good dupes on hand already 😀
I love the sheen and these reminds me a lot of the Dior quints in terms of the colour payoff! Not too pigmented, but sometimes that’s all you need!
I can see what you mean!
Very pretty colours – especially the Promenade green. Great for those who only want one particular colour. Although a couple of the shades (teal and blue) were a bit disappointing with their wear times.
I wish they wore longer!
The colors were pretty but rated a bit lower than the first set. Petite perle was very washed out . Unfortunate because a glowing white is so useful under the brows and in the inner corner. Yesterday’s white was matte and not as much fun if Petite Perle had performed better.
Shimmery whites are great for inner corners – very true!
The colors swatch very sheer but love the eye look that you have created here! xo
These are more of a cream than a powder IMO.. and they crease like crazy no matter what I put under them. They also do not work well with one another, they just mush into a mess. I’ve had the best results using them as a lid shade with an otherwise regular powder shadow eye.. but even then I was not entirely happy with them.
That’s too bad that these were so hard for you to work with! 🙁 Hope you can return!
