Master Mattes #12 is a medium-dark black with neutral undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a smooth, velvety consistency that was slightly firmer compared to the other shades in the palette, though it wasn't prone to fallout or excess kicked up in the pan. It was blendable and easy to work with. The color stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.
