Grande Pro (Vol. 2)

Viseart Grande Pro (Vol. 2) Grande Pro Palette ($175.00 for 2.10 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that’s individually numbered (3,000 made) that features 30–whew!–shimmer shades that range from pearl to metallic to large glitter. The palette was designed for professional makeup artists first and foremost (in terms of the creation and development process), and as a shimmery complement to the original Grande Pro (Vol. 1) palette, which was all matte (and also designed for professional makeup artists). Each column represents a different type of finish, so depending on the finish, it may be more or less pigmented, more or less glittery. Columns two and six were the least user-friendly within the palette; the other four columns were similar to shimmery, powder-based eyeshadow formulas.

Columns two and six have larger glitter particles, and they are recommended to be used with a mixing medium to “set and seal glitter in place,” and it is recommended to dampen the brush, pick up product, and apply with a “patting/pressing motion.” Without the brand’s more specific descriptions (which is what we want to see to help guide our expectations!), this palette would have rated lower, so I urge anyone interested in this to consider each of the finishes to ensure it will work with your application style and techniques and meet your needs, which I’ve described in detail below.

You have to either be a die-hard Viseart fan or love larger, chunky glitter as a traditional consumer to consider this palette; whether this is a go-to for professional makeup artists, I’ll leave it up to those who practice to comment below with how it fits with their kit. I love some of the shades and finishes used within the palette, and I hope we’ll see the shades offered as singles some day or incorporated in future palettes (preferably a smaller format!). I think if some of the jewel-toned shades catch your eye, but you’re not into the glitter or have no need for a 30-shade palette, I highly recommend Bijoux Royal (or Ribbons Boheme for brighter, slightly more popping shades). I really enjoyed columns one, three, four, and five.

Column one is labeled “Crystalline Highlighters” that have “sheer satin coverage, crystal finish.” I think they’re being unsold, as one was sheer, another was semi-sheer, two were medium-full, and one was opaque. I swatched these five shades dry and wet (just using water). This finish was easy to use like any other shimmer eyeshadow; they applied well, blended out easily, and lasted for eight to nine hours on me.

Column two is labeled “Prismatic Metallics” that have “medium coverage, prismatic finish.” If they had omitted the larger, chunkier shimmer, I would have found these easier to work with as there was still some fallout when I used a dampened brush as well as when I blended it out. The pigmentation was medium, as described, and they should be used with a mixing medium for the adhesive quality (to deal with the chunky glitter) and improve the coverage/payoff. With the exception of #6, they were a challenge to use dry as there was a ton of fallout. With a dampened brush, most of them improved, but shades like #7 had to be used with an adhesive base/mixing medium as there were too many glitters. Without an adhesive base, there was fallout throughout the day. In most of the lead-up material, only column six was marketed as truly requiring the mixing medium, not column two, so I rated based on being able to use it dry but also tested and gave details on using it with a mixing medium.

Column three is labeled “Chromatic Foils” that have “full coverage, foil finish.” These are more like the types of shimmers one would expect from Viseart; they’re pigmented, smooth, blendable, and easy to work with. They don’t need to be applied with a dampened brush or fingertip to shine, but they can, of course, be intensified with a dampened brush like most shimmer/metallic powder eyeshadows.

Column four is labeled “Luxe Metallics” that have “full coverage, velvet finish.” (They were initially described as “medium to full,” which is why I swatched them dry and dampened with water.) This is another easy-to-use row of pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing shades. Some shades were slightly more “mostly opaque” rather than full coverage in a single layer, but in practice, I didn’t notice as they adhered evenly and blended out nicely to the point where it didn’t feel like they were under-pigmented.

Column five is labeled “Celestial Duo-Chromes” that have “sheer/medium coverage, dual reflective finish.” I actually felt that they were undersold; they were more medium to full coverage with none of the five shades being genuinely sheer (or even semi-sheer). The textures were soft, smooth, and blendable without being too softly nor too firmly pressed in the pan. They applied well and lasted for eight to nine hours on me.

Column six is labeled “Glittering Toppers” that have “medium/full coverage, glitter finish” and need to be used with a “mixing medium for best result.” I don’t like these personally; they were finicky to work with as the glitter particle size is quite large so while it’s drying down, there’s a very short period of time one can work with it to apply and blend but once it’s dry, if I went to blend, voila, fallout. I didn’t get great dispersion of glitter when I tried to use it on my lid. I find that the smaller, more fleck-like glitter/sparkle that we find in eyeshadows is often more reflective and sparkly yet easier to work with and wear during the day. The glitter in some of these shades just seemed to sit on top of the base but were so large (and not concentrated enough) that they lacked the wow factor I’d expect from adding glitter onto anything. This was most apparent in shade #30.

A few were sheerer when used dry, but as soon as I used it with a mixing medium, they became quite opaque and rich that I’m not sure how they’re working as “toppers” since they’re covering up the color/finish of anything they’re put on top of. However, using them dry was just a no; they had a lot of fallout during application and unsurprisingly, that larger glitter had nowhere to go but down during wear. The palette was designed for pros in mind, and Viseart has a long history of being a professional brand, so I’d definitely be curious to hear from makeup artists and how the “Glittering Toppers” are working for them in their kits. I tested these with and without the mixing medium but as they were marketed as to be used with mixing medium, the rating is based on application and wear with it (but I wanted to account for the base color and how it wore/applied, which is why I tested both ways).

Stardust (GPV2 #1)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #1 is a pale pink with warmer undertones and a pearly sheen. It had sheer to semi-sheer coverage applied dry (as described), and it could be intensified to opaque coverage with a dampened brush (just using water). The consistency was soft, more loosely pressed than the average Viseart shimmer shade, and blendable without fallout. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

-

The eyeshadow formula is supposed to be "pigment[ed]" with "smooth and even application" that is "long-lasting." The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade. I find that the mattes are often best suited to someone who likes control over pigmentation and may prefer to build up color; they regularly perform better in practice than just swatched on the arm as well.

The shimmer shades range from satin to metallic, and the more metallic shades tend to feel creamier to the touch, while the satin ones have a fine pearl to them that looks almost melted on the lid once blended out. Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #2 is a soft, springy yellow-green with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in a single layer when applied dry and more opaque coverage when applied with a dampened brush. The eyeshadow had a soft, more loosely pressed texture that was soft and blendable but not prone to fallout or sheering too readily on my skin. It lasted well for eight hours on me before it started to fade a bit.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #4 is a bright, cooler white base with a cooler blue pearl and a metallic sheen. It almost seemed to shift greenish-teal to blue to my eye. It had medium coverage in a single layer, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverge with two to three layers with a dry brush or in one layer using a dampened brush. The texture was soft, slightly more loosely pressed, and blendable on my skin with good, even adherence to bare skin. It wore well for eight hours on me before it started to fade on me.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #5 is a soft, rosy mauve with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in one layer when used dry, which was definitely intensified to full coverage if I used it with a dampened brush. The texture was smooth, soft, and a bit denser/firmer compared to the other four shades within the finish. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit.

Jupiter (GPV2 #6)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #6 is deep copper with warm undertones and a metallic finish paired with flecks of larger glitter particles. It had opaque pigmentation applied with a dry brush, though the glitter particles did not adhere well and resulted in quite a bit of fallout during application (and more during wear). Using a dampened brush with mixing medium, it had opaque coverage with a more metallic finish with better-adhering glitter but I found that the glitter did not seem evenly dispersed and tended to sit more atop the powder eyeshadow.

Both the mattes and shimmers are blendable and easy to work with. Most of Viseart's eyeshadows wear between seven and nine hours on me.

Eclipse (GPV2 #7)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #7 has a charcoal base with large, chunky glitter (which seemed mostly silver in color but sometimes appeared black). It had semi-sheer coverage when applied dry, as it seemed comprised of more glitter than base powder! I would not use this dry as there was little coverage and lots of fallout; it was only workable using a mixing medium, which gave it better hold, but it definitely took more effort and patience to work with it to ensure the right placement as I could only minimally blend it or else blending actions often loosened the glitter.

Medusa (GPV2 #8)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #8 is a deep forest green with a subtle, warm brown base and cooler green pearl along with large glitter particles. Applied dry, it was more like a murky black-brown with chunks of glitter that promptly fell off the lid during application, with the underlying base color lasting about eight hours with slight additional fallout but not much as most dropped during application. Applied with a mixing medium, it was opaque in coverage with a smoother application and more even dispersion of the glitter that stayed in place.

Poseidon (GPV2 #9)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #9 is a muted, medium-dark blue with subtle, cool undertones and larger blue glitter particles. The glitter in this particular shade slightly smaller than the others in the same column, and I found that more of them adhered to my skin during application. The consistency was slightly drier and more textured due to the amount of sparkle/glitter. It had semi-sheer color coverage that was somewhat buildable with a dry brush, but it had moderate fallout during application and then some fallout over the eight hours it lasted for. Applied with a mixing medium, it had nearly opaque pigmentation with a more even, more intensely glittery finish that gave it a lighter color that was more reflective.

Agate (GPV2 #10)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #10 is a medium-dark, plummy purple with warmer undertones and a pearly sheen paired with larger glitter particles. Applied dry, it had semi-sheer pigmentation with chunky glitter that did not go on evenly and had a tendency to drop during initial application with very few that were left behind (upside, little fallout at the end of the day!). The consistency was smoother and a bit denser, and the underlying base color was blendable. With mixing medium, the eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and smoothly to bare skin with a smattering of glitter particles that didn’t fall off my lid during application. I just didn’t feel they added much to the shade, though, and they just seemed to sit on top rather than really intertwine with the eyeshadow.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #12 is a bright, light-medium gold with strong, warm yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. The pigmentation was nearly opaque and buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too firmly nor too loosely pressed in the pan, so there was good adhesion to bare skin but no fallout. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #13 is a light, golden green with warm undertones and a pearly finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the eyeshadow had a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that wasn’t too dense, which made it easy to pick up with a brush but still enabled me to get good coverage that went on well without a primer. Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #14 is a bright silver with a sparkling, metallic finish. It had good color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin, and I did find that it appeared more opaque in practice on my lid than when I initially swatched it. The consistency was soft, seemed to be a bit looser in press compared to the other shades in the finish, but it didn’t have any fallout and blended out easily. It lasted well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

The matte shades are typically semi-opaque to opaque but buildable with soft, velvety textures that can sometimes be a little powdery or slightly firm, depending on the shade.

2) #15 is a bright, medium purple with warm pink undertones and a metallic sheen. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that wasn’t too thick or too thin yet adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out with little effort. It was one of the best eyeshadows in the palette and one of the best metallic shades Viseart has done to-date. This shade stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours on me.

Mars (GPV2 #16)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #16 is a rich red with warm undertones and a sparkling, pearl sheen. It seemed to have very fine sparkle as it twinkled more than fine shimmer often does but the overall finish was smoother, not metallic. It had opaque pigmentation applied dry, but it appeared lighter and warmer compared to the pan color. When I used it with a dampened brush (just water), it deepened and looked truer-to-pan in color and had a smoother sheen. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading slightly.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #17 is a medium, golden bronze with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was fantastic with rich coverage that applied the same regardless of using it dry or damp. The consistency was smooth, lightly creamy, and blendable with great adherence to bare skin. This shade lasted beautifully for almost nine hours on me before fading a bit.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #18 is a blackened teal with subtle, cool undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation applied with a dry brush but it appeared less intense and almost faded on me compared to the color in the pan. The texture was soft, slightly looser compared to the others in the finish, but blendable and easy to work with. Applied with a dampened brush (just using water), it was more intense, pigmented, and reflective. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours (used dry).

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #19 is a medium blue with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color coverage in a single layer when applied with a dry brush, though it needed a bit more to bring it to full coverage. The eyeshadow had a soft, blendable consistency that wasn’t too firmly nor too softly pressed in the pan, which made it easy to pick up and to use in practice. Applied with a dampened brush, it appeared brighter and wasn’t quite as cool-toned but was more intense and opaque. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Zeus (GPV2 #20)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #20 is a medium purple with warmer undertones and a fine, sparkling sheen. The pigmentation was good when applied with a dry brush, just shy of full coverage, and had a softer, more muted appearance compared to the pan shade. The consistency felt soft to the touch, finely-milled, and was blendable on my lid with little effort. Using a dampened brush (with just water), it applied significantly differently: more opaque, richer, brighter, and cooler-toned with true-to-pan color. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me (dry).

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #21 is a medium, orange-copper with warm undertones and copper-to-pink shifting shimmer. While the finish was billed as “sheer/medium” in coverage, it yielded nearly opaque pigmentation applied dry with a brush and intensified to full coverage (with more sparkle) used with a dampened brush (with water). The consistency was soft, slightly loosely pressed, and blendable without fallout. It adhered well to bare skin and stayed on well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Venus (GPV2 #22)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #22 is a bright, medium pink-coral base with a golden sheen. The pigmentation was semi-opaque applied in one layer dry, and it was opaque when applied with a dampened brush (using water). The texture was soft, smooth, and blendable without being too easily sheered out. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours on me before I noticed faint fading.

Sunlight (GPV2 #23)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #23 is a bright lemony yellow with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. It had medium coverage applied dry, which was buildable to full coverage by pressing on a second layer. I could get opaque coverage in one layer if I used a dampened brush (with just water). The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable without fallout. It adhered well to bare skin and wore beautifully for eight and a half hours.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #24 is a medium, rosy plum base with warmer undertones and violet-to-blue shifting shimmer. It had good pigmentation both wet and dry with the dampened application yielding full coverage and a smoother, more reflective finish from the get-go. The consistency was soft and blendable with a looser consistency that had a touch of fallout if I wasn’t careful to tap off excess prior to application. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly on me.

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #25 is a bright fuchsia pink with cool undertones and a pink-to-blue shifting pearl. It had medium to semi-opaque pigmentation when applied with a dry brush, which could be intensified to opaque coverage in a single layer when used with a dampened brush (using just water). It had a smooth, lightly creamy consistency that was easy to apply and to blend out on my lid. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Lava (GPV2 #26)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #26 is a medium-dark copper with warm, rusty red undertones and flecks of large, gold glitter. Applied with a dry brush, it had good pigmentation but appeared lighter and warmer than the pan color with little of the glitter transferring onto my skin. When applied with the mixing medium, which was as it was marketed to be applied, it had richer, true-to-pan coverage that was redder and had some glitter dispersion. It wore well for eight and a half hours without fallout (worn with the mixing medium; without the mixing medium, the base color lasted that long but there was residual fallout).

Aurora (GPV2 #27)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #27 is a light-medium copper with warm, golden undertones and large glitter. Applied dry, it had medium coverage with a random smattering of glitter that didn’t adhere to the lid. When I applied it using the mixing medium, as directed, the eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation and a moderate amount of glitter, though I did not feel I was able to get the glitter to go on evenly, so it just looked erratic and lacked the precision I wanted out of it. I also had some fallout if I spent too long trying to blend or diffuse the edges after it had dried down. The eyeshadow had a grittier texture due to the amount of glitter in it, though the underlying powder felt consistent with Viseart’s formula (soft, blendable, smooth).

Paradox (GPV2 #28)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #28 is a soft, olive green with large green glitter. This shade was full of glitter and felt that way–it almost felt like a loosely pressed glitter and as a result, it also felt drier to the touch. Applied with a dry brush, it was a one-way ticket to Fallout City and not much else as there was little coverage. Applied with a mixing medium, as directed, it had opaque coverage and a ton of glitter that adhered to the lid. I found that this shade was significantly more glittery than the other four shades in the same finish. This had to be applied at the very end and very carefully or else there was still some fallout to contend with as I worked along the edges to incorporate it into the rest of the look. Once on, it stayed on well for eight hours with slight fallout over time but most of it stayed in place.

Galaxy (GPV2 #29)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #29 is a blackened blue with lighter blue glitter. Like #28, it wasn’t usable dry as there was too much glitter and too dry/loose of a consistency so none of the glitter stuck. As marketed, I tested and used it with a mixing medium, which yielded opaque pigmentation and a healthy amount of glitter that did adhere to my lid. It was more challenging to diffuse the edges without also loosening the glitter that was in place, so there was some fallout during application as a result. It wore well for eight hours with slight fallout over time when appleid with the mixing medium, and without the mixing medium, the color stayed on well for about eight hours with moderate fallout (as expected).

Cosmos (GPV2 #30)

Grande Pro (Vol. 2) #30 is a pale pink with subtle, cool undertones and pink glitter. The glitter did not seem quite as large as it was in the other shades within the same finish, but it seemed to sit on top of the base color and did not twinkle/sparkle as I’d expect glitter to. It just looked like pink particles sitting atop pale pink. The underlying powder was semi-sheer to medium in coverage with a soft, blendable texture. As the brand recommended applying this with a mixing medium in order to set and seal the glitter, I did so, and it yielded more opaque coverage and a lot more glitter that adhered better to the lid, though it was an uneven amount of glitter overall–more concentrated in some areas and more scattered in others. It lasted for eight hours with slight fallout over time (with the mixing medium). When I wore it without mixing medium (more trying to see the wear of the base shade), it lasted for eight hours with tons of fallout (obviously).

Honestly, I feel like they ruined an otherwise stunning palette with the giant chunks of glitter. Super disappointing. I would have bought this in a heartbeat if not for that misstep. The glitter just looks so inelegant. And two rows of it? I might have talked myself into it if it were just one row I’d have to ignore, but two is too much at this price point. Bummer.

Kudos to you, Christine! I know this had to be a beast of a review. Now that I’ve started with a positive, the glitter shadows look so so so bad. The glitter shades in this palette reminds me of kid’s makeup. This reminds me of a glitter palette I purchased from Shop Hush, and I didn’t realize that it was a paste with glitter chunks in it. It was terrible. Even if I wanted to purchase a palette this expensive, that row would make it an instant no for me. I really want to know why they didn’t go with a finer glitter.

Thank you for your very thoughtful review Christine! And the looks… Stunning!

I already had my doubts about picking this palette… But now I am 100% sure it will be a pass.

The glitter eyeshadow are too much work for my personal taste (if I keep it real) without the “wow” effect…. And I already have Bijoux Royal and Boheme Dream and I love them so much (I paired them today and it was lovely!)

I will stick to what I have from the brand for now. The holiday season is far from being over, I guess something else will attract my attention (Pat McGrath and this Opulence collection… ??)

Too big, too pricey, too glittery (and coming from me, that’s really saying something) and too filled with all those red and hot pink colours I don’t wear. Vol. 1 is $195 here and I imagine this will be the same or maybe they’ll just round up to $200 – just too rich for my blood.

Thank you so much for testing this out for us, Christine! That’s a lot of extra work with the recommended medium. It’s just so strange that they would include 2 rows of chunky glitter. Like, why?? That second row from the right is allegedly duochrome – did you notice that? At least according to this video with Alphonse (of Muse Beauty) and Anastasia (of Viseart): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU0HiW3NmQo&frags=pl%2Cwn
They explain the glitter at 4:00… but how is it a topper if you’re making a paste with it? They also rationalize that some people “like fallout” because it’s like fairy dust – and so then you use them dry.
Those two rows make me really hesitate…

Also, a suggestion – would it be possible to overlay the ratings of individual shadows on an image of the entire palette? This way we could see in one picture a summary of all your ratings of the pans.
Thank you for all your work on this enormous (and probably messy) palette!

Christine Avatar

I mentioned any relevant shift as seen for shades (#21-25) in column five for the respective shade’s review 🙂 The palette’s score is an average of all of the ratings. If you just want to see the individual ratings as badges, you can always view the palette in the Swatch Gallery: https://www.temptalia.com/swatches/viseart-grande-pro-palette/grande-pro-vol-2/

I think some people are more or less bothered by fallout – it’s like some people hate glitter anything and others want more of it, but I think that they were clear to use the last row (for sure, even at pre-order) with a mixing medium because of the glitter. They don’t seem to be trying to market or convince anyone that the glitter will adhere without, IMO! I’m curious to hear from pro artists on how they like it, though.

You outdid even yourself with this review. You are phenomenal (not to mention probably exhausted) and we truly appreciate the effort and the professional analysis.

Okay; so I am not averse to using some very glittery eyeshadow. In fact, I am wearing Marc Jacob’s Beauty Topaz all over my mobile lid today. But those 2 rows just look far too chunky for me personally. As in, I could see potential eye injury occurring if one didn’t use these particular shades in rows 2 & 6 properly. It’s a pass for me.
As you mentioned, I too would love to see see some of the metallic, duochrome and satiny shades released in some future Theory Palettes! I pine for the day that Viseart does a “mermaid” toned Theory, with that bluish white duochrome in it!

Genevieve Avatar

What a mammoth effort to review this huge palette the way you have done Christine.
I think Viseart ruined a perfectly good palette by adding the row/columns of glitter. Even looking at the dupe list, very few brands are good at adding glitter successfully. Regardless of who is going to use the palette, the glitter shades are just poor.
The glitter rows actually male the palette look cheap and nasty – something like you would pick up in the $2 shop. The rest of the palette is beautiful and I love the hues.
Beautiful eye look Christine, and once again, a sterling effort.

I don’t know if this palette is something that professional MUAs would want in their kits. Maybe people who work on fashion and editorial shoots could find a use for the glitter. But I’m pretty sure that a majority of the general public will be horrified by the amount of chunky particles. Considering that it’s sold at Sephora, where customers expect products that they can easily work with even if they’re not pros (especially at this price point) I wouldn’t be surprised if this palette goes on sale very quickly.

Denise S. Avatar

It’s so pretty and I love glitter. Also I don’t blend glitter eye shadow when I use it. I only pat on the center of the lid. But for the price sounds like it’s for a more experienced makeup professional. Still a B+ isn’t bad but $175 sure is lol.

Melissa Avatar

Some really beautiful colors in there, and also some duds. This is a pass for me while I’m saving for the VIB sale at the end of the year and I have my eyes on some new Pat McGrath. I do wish Viseart would get into the singles game.

Felicia Avatar

Hi Christine,

Your lips look so pretty I was just wondering what you were wearing in the photo? I apologize if you mentioned it somewhere already.

Thanks.

Christine Avatar

Thank you for once again bringing my inner magpie down to reality. I rarely (if ever) use glittery eye shadow. I like Viseart enough to purchase Grande Pro 1, but not enough for Grande Pro 2. It would be interesting to see how this is used in whatever they assume is an editorial setting.

Mariah Avatar

I’m surprised, everywhere I watch reviews that I trust pretty much likes this. Now granted, it’s Viseart, and they have like a golden record, but the CHUNKS of glitter in these… I would LOVE if it worked but it just makes me think fallout and glitter in my eyes! And most places I read/watch reviews hate glitter (unless it’s in a liquid like a Stila Glitter & Glow type thing) but they’re still getting ok reviews. It must work ok. That, and OOOHH numbers 20, 22, 25 make my heart flutter!!

Christine Avatar

I think that is part of it is setting expectations, and they seemed to do a good job of getting across that the glitter needs a mixing medium to adhere, e.g. it is not a formula that works on its own. If they had marketed it that way, the rating would be quite different, though!

If you weren’t going to use the glitter shades with a mixing medium, especially column six, you’d have fallout and problems for sure.

Fyi everyone….this has a shelf life of 6 months…natasha demons has 36 months for her 28 pan palette. If stephanie nicole hadn’t mentioned this in the last 2 mins of her video I would have purchased for my pro makeup kit.
It baffles me why a company would construct such a large palette with such a short shelf life. I doubt even the busiest mua would be able to use this all within the 6 month expiry date.
So glad and thankful for stephanie nicole. Dodged an expensive bullet there. So I now own both of natasha denona 28 pan palettes which have the best duochrome, shimmer and matte combinations ever.

I have the viseart volume 1 palette and am in the process of investigation the shelf life of this palette.

Pretty sneaky if you ask me. They kept that on the down low.
