Midnight Masquerade
ColourPop Midnight Masquerade 15-Pan Shadow Palette ($26.00 for 0.53 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that features seven matte eyeshadows, five shimmer eyeshadows, two Pressed Glitters, and one Pressed Pigment (the latter three shades are not intended to be used on the eye area). The eyeshadows performed consistently with ColourPop’s formula: pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The only shade that I found to be below average was Merryweather, which could have been more pigmented and more blendable.
I couldn’t find any warning/disclosure on the physical palette, though mine is a press sample, but in recent months, ColourPop has denoted shades that have a warning with an asterisk by the shade name and the warning to follow at the bottom of the palette (both on the physical back of the palette as well as the cardboard carton it comes with). Online, the warnings are there within each shade’s respective ingredient list.

Spinning Wheel
Spinning Wheel is a pale, iridescent pink base with flecks of pink-to-violet shifting sparkle over a more pearlescent sheen. The eyeshadow had rich color coverage in a single layer, while the texture felt soft, lightly creamy, and was a bit thicker, which resulted in slight fallout during application. It wore nicely for eight hours on me before showing signs of fading.

Enchanted is a medium-dark, orange-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. The texture was soft, lightly powdery in the pan but maintained its intensity when blended. It wore well for eight hours on me before I noticed signs of fading.

Mama Odie
Mama Odie has a pink-peach base with heavy green-to-gold shifting shimmer. I very rarely could see the peachy base, so it was more of a bright, yellowy green at most angles. It had good color payoff but applied better with a fingertip or a dampened brush for full coverage in one layer. The texture was soft, lightly emollient, so the shimmer and powder bound together well. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Djali
Djali is a muted, medium copper with warm, brownish undertones and a metallic sheen. It had excellent pigmentation with a soft, more loosely-pressed consistency that was best used with a lighter hand to minimize excess product getting kicked up in the pan. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin and blended out evenly. I’d recommend gently pressing it onto the lid to avoid fallout. It lasted nicely for eight hours on me before fading visibly.

Floating Lantern
Floating Lantern has a translucent base with lots of larger particle glitters in hexagonal shapes along with finer glitter particles that flashed from a rosy pink to a cooler, more silvery pink. It had medium to semi-opaque coverage (in the form of glitter) that had good dispersion and adhesion on its own, so there was little glitter migration during application and most of it stayed in place for eight hours.
It includes larger particles of plastic glitter, which are “not intended for use in the immediate eye area,” though the warning doesn’t seem to appear on the actual palette, just online by the list of ingredients.

Royal Ball
Royal Ball is a mixture of larger and finer particles of glitter in shades of white gold with some iridescence over a translucent base. It had semi-opaque “coverage” in the form of glitter and had good dispersion and spreadability. The product adhered well to bare skin with just a touch of migration/fallout. There was some migration if blended out along the edge as some came away from where it was initially applied. There was slight migration of glitter over an eight-hour period.

Nutmeg is a darker, brownish-copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin as the color went on evenly and blended out easily along the edges. The consistency was soft, velvety, and a smidgen powdery in the pan but didn’t suffer from fallout during application. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Gaston is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer, which built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer. The texture was soft, slightly thin but seemed to apply without issue as the color blended out easily. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.
It is a Pressed Pigment, which is “not intended for use in the immediate eye area,” though the warning doesn’t seem to appear on the actual palette, just online by the list of ingredients.

Really love this palette but I wish the pressed glitter’s weren’t there. Such a waste of space in a palette, IMHO. I really love the eye look you did, Christine. Which reminds me, is there a way to save a look so that you can go back and review it later or use it for inspiration? It’s an okay enough palette with several truly unique shades in it that I haven’t really seen around. Mama Odie, Frog & Wife, Damsel and even Spinning Wheel, in particular. But, I have to ask myself whether those make it “worth it” for $26 or not so much.

The palette has a more diverse shade range than what we have seen lately, but those flaky glittery numbers are just far too risky to have anywhere near your eye area.
The only shade I really liked was Frog and Wife…stunning eye look Christine.
I think they did a really good job of this palette – it’s very cohesive and has good depth and variety! Mama Odie is a fantastic shade.

I am so much more impressed with this palette now that I have received it and had a chance to play with it. Most of the mattes are amazing, and several of the shimmers have this duochrome effect that makes them so much more interesting than I was expecting. It totally fits the theme of a fancy masquerade party.
