ColourPop DTLA, Bee Sting, Prance Creme Gel Colour & Liners Reviews, Photos, Swatches
ColourPop DTLA Creme Gel Liner
ColourPop DTLA Creme Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is described as a “deep blackened blue.” It’s a deep, navy blue with very fine pearl. It had good color coverage in one pass, and the texture of the eyeliner was creamy, so it glided on without tugging on the lash line. I was able to wear it for a full eight hours before it started to thin along the outer edge. Marc Jacobs Beauty Over(night) (P, $25.00) is less shimmery, cooler (95% similar). MAC Waveline (DC, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Navy or Die (P, $22.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty (Wave)length (68) (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Petrol Blue (P, $15.00) is more shimmery, brighter (90% similar). MAC Bionic Bae (LE, $17.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Blue Stripe (LE, $16.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Sudsy (LE, $17.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). ColourPop DTLA Creme Gel Colour ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “deep blackened blue.” It’s a darker, blackened navy blue with a mostly matte finish. I didn’t notice any pearl in this shade, whereas the pencil form definitely has some! This also appeared more muted, a bit darker. It was richly pigmented with a lightly creamy consistency that applied smoothly. The formula is quick-drying, so it doesn’t work as a base in my experience, and you’ll want to apply one eye at a time. It lasted for eight and a half hours as an eyeliner. Estee Lauder Blackened Sapphire (LE, $20.00) is darker (95% similar). Giorgio Armani #3 (P, $29.00) is glossier (95% similar). MAC Indian Ink (LE, $16.00) is lighter (90% similar). Wayne Goss Blue Sapphire (P, $14.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). NARS Darklight (P, $24.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Waveline (DC, $16.00) is lighter, glossier (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Super Blue (Matte) (PiP, ) is darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Sabbath (DC, $22.00) is glossier (90% similar). NARS Park Avenue (P, $24.00) is cooler (90% similar). Urban Decay Mainline (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop DTLA (P, $7.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). Fenty Beauty Navy or Die (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (80% similar). Melt Cosmetics Slate (LE, $19.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). ColourPop Bee Sting Creme Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is described as an “intense turquoise blue.” It’s a medium-dark, true blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had very nice pigmentation in a single stroke, and the consistency was creamy and smooth. The color wore well for eight hours before thinning on me. NARS Curacao (P, $24.00)(95% similar). Stila Cobalt (P, $22.00) is lighter (95% similar). ColourPop Bee Sting (DC, $7.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Hi-Def Cyan (P, $16.00) is glossier (95% similar). KVD Beauty Satellite (P, $18.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Lady Lagoon (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Vivid (LE, $22.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). NARS Most Wanted (LE, $24.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
ColourPop Bee Sting Creme Gel Colour ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as an “intense turquoise blue.” It’s a rich, medium-dark blue with a semi-matte finish. I think the gel eyeliner is deeper and has more depth, partially because it is more pigmented. The texture of the gel was creamy, lightweight, but it will dry down fast, so you’ll want to work quickly and probably one eye at a time. It glides on well, though, and it doesn’t drag or skip. Once on, the color wore well for nine hours before starting to fade. NARS Curacao (P, $24.00) is lighter (95% similar). ColourPop Bee Sting (P, $7.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Hi-Def Cyan (P, $16.00) is lighter (95% similar). Stila Cobalt (P, $22.00) is lighter (90% similar). KVD Beauty Satellite (P, $18.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). NARS Most Wanted (LE, $24.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Fenty Beauty Lady Lagoon (P, $22.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Urban Decay Vivid (LE, $22.00) is lighter (85% similar). ColourPop Prance Creme Gel Liner ($5.00 for 0.01 oz.) is described as a “bright periwinkle blue.” It’s a bright, medium cornflower blue with a matte finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation with a lightly creamy consistency, though it was less creamy compared to the majority of the range. I found it hard to build-up coverage with this one without lifting the layer beneath it. The color lasted for seven and a half hours on me. Lethal Cosmetics Analog (P, $15.50) is darker (95% similar). ColourPop Prance (P, $7.00) is more pigmented, better quality (95% similar). KVD Beauty Nietzsche (P, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Deja Blue (P, $25.00) is lighter (80% similar). Moira Aqua (P, $5.00) is warmer (85% similar). Fenty Beauty Skinny Dip (LE, ) is darker (85% similar). Maybelline Arctic Skies (LE, $8.99) is warmer (80% similar). ColourPop Making Waves (LE, $7.00) is more shimmery, darker (80% similar). ColourPop Swish (LE, $7.00) is darker, more muted (80% similar). Urban Decay Vivid (LE, $22.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
ColourPop Prance Creme Gel Colour ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “bright periwinkle blue.” It’s a bright, medium cornflower blue with a matte finish. It had fairly good pigmentation, though the texture was a little denser and less creamy compared to other shades in the formulation. It definitely applies better and with better coverage than the pencil. This shade wore well for nine hours on me before fading. ColourPop Prance (P, $7.00) is less pigmented, lower quality (95% similar). KVD Beauty Nietzsche (P, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Deja Blue (P, $25.00) is lighter (80% similar). Fenty Beauty Skinny Dip (LE, ) is darker (85% similar). Urban Decay Vivid (LE, $22.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). Yaaaaaay! I just ordered DTLA after eye-balling online swatches, didn’t see your review yet. So glad it got a great score! I’m going to wear it with all my blue shadows
Yayy!!
These look so FUN! 🙂 Especially DTLA and Bee Sting.
They are cool shades!
Bee Sting is KILLER. Haven’t ordered any yet, because I have been trying to decide between pots and pencils, but I think this one makes the decision for me.
Enjoy 😀
OH, DTLA!
That one seems popular!
These are some gorgeous blues. It’s so nice to see a true periwinkle. The pencil’s grade is disappointing, but at least the gel liner was better.
I hear you! I wanted it to be good so badly as there are so few!
Oh man these are pretty, ColourPop Prance reminds me of Rimmel’s Scandaleyes in 008 Light Blue but prance is darker.
Prance is a cool color!
Christine, do you think the pencils would smudge enough to work as a base? I’ve not even tried the few I have like that. Another thought would be to mix either with duraline and see if that may give it enough slip. That seems to be the drawback with these- lack of not being able to be a base! I’ll have to experiment when I get time after the Holiday.
I don’t 🙁
No problem. I’ ‘ll experiment and report back. Happy Thanksgiving!
I love Bee Sting and Prance, such pretty blues!
I love periwinkles!
DTLA Creme Gel Liner is beautiful. I’m going to have to find a dupe. Come on, colour Pop, start shipping to all of Europe, Please!
I wonder why they can’t yet 🙁
LOVE that DTLA colour of Navy – one of my most favourite colours (next to Olive green and Khaki). The pencil would be my preference as there is no way I could manage a gel pot with glasses. Love the rating and the price too. Why would you bother buying more expensive products than Colour Pop?
Pencils are definitely easier for me to use, too!
Next summer, I will definitely be getting Bee Sting (in the potted form!) to do a double wing liner look!
Love DTLA in its potted form, as well!
Sounds perfect 😉
DTLA…!!! Both formulas… the navy liners of my dreams! =)
Woohoo!
