Urban Decay Sparkle Out Loud 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils Reviews & Swatches
Electric Empire
Urban Decay Electric Empire 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rich, blue-teal base with cooler gold and green micro-glitter and sparkle. It was glittery, though it seemed slightly tempered by slightly finer particles, but it’s not something I’d wear comfortably on my water line (I tried; it went poorly–it didn’t seem THAT sparkly initially). There was enough particles i the liner that I could feel a bit of texture as it glided across my lower lash line without tugging. It had good color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with a second pass. It stayed on well for 10 hours with minimal fading/thinning on me, and I didn’t notice migration/movement from the glitter.

The formula is supposed to go on "smoothly, stay soft and super-creamy for blending" before it "dries to a long-lasting finish that won't budge" with "intense" coverage. I'm a long-time fan and user of the formula--almost a decade now--and they're still a go-to. I keep a handful of formulas at my fingertips, and I have all of the shades from this range in a cup within reach.
It isn't the longest-wearing formula I've come across, but I find that it balances longevity with creaminess in application and ease of removal at the end. They also wear away "kindly," so while the line might get thinner, it doesn't drag or bleed toward my under eye area. The formula has solid, long-wear at eight to 10 hours before fading, thinning, or having a bit of migration to the outer corner. The less shimmery shades tend to have the most visible movement, whereas the more shimmery shades tend to fade or thin.
The pigmentation varies a lot from shade to shade with more matte shades often having the most coverage in a single layer, followed by more metallic finishes. The more glittery the finish, the weaker the coverage and application were. Many of the shades in the range are buildable and apply with near-to or opaque coverage when applied in short, overlapping strokes. The majority are very comfortable to apply on the lower lash line or waterline.
They have a creamy, glide-on consistency as promised, and they can be smudged or blended out, so they are particularly useful for someone who likes a more diffused look for their eyeliner.
As someone who has had a lot of these eyeliners over time, I can attest to the fact that they do not dry out readily. Some of the shades I have that I don't use (because they're THAT old) are still creamy and glide-on when swatched.

Roxy
Urban Decay Roxy 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium blue with cool undertones and silver micro-glitter. It had good color payoff in one layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second pass. The texture was lightly creamy and didn’t tug on my lash line, though there was a little bit of grit to it (not in a painful way) that I knew it was more heavily packed with glitter than the average shimmery eyeliner is. It wore well for 10 hours with minimal fading/thinning, and I didn’t notice any of the sparkles moving to parts unknown.

Viper
Urban Decay Viper 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a glittering finish. It had medium pigmentation that was buildable to more semi-opaque color coverage with a second layer. As an actual eyeliner against my lash line, any lack of opacity and slight unevenness in application was hard to notice from a normal viewing distance. The texture was lightly creamy and glided on without dragging on my lower lash line, but it was noticeably textured and was the least comfortable of the four to apply. It lasted for 10 hours with minimal change to my eye, and the glitter seemed to stay in place.

Wild Side
Urban Decay Wild Side 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Eyeliner) ($22.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rosy, medium copper with warm undertones and a glittering finish. It had good pigmentation in one pass, which built up to full coverage with less than a second layer. The pencil was creamy and never dragged during application, but I could tell it had quite a bit of glitter in it, though it wasn’t physically painful. It stayed on nicely for 10 hours with minimal movement, including the glitter.

The stickers on these are… odd. Are these just renamed pre-existing shades?
The names were switched up – all of the names under the stickers were one of the names from this foursome – so my guess is there was a printing error and instead of redoing the pencils, they did stickers. Super appreciated as it minimizes waste.
Good, I was already formulating a conspiracy theory about renaming old shades! ?
It’s very weird, because the “misprinted” names make more sense. “Viper” is what the sticker says on the purple, but it’s what it says *under* the sticker on the green. Why would you give that name to the purple and not the green?
Same with “Electric Empire”… kind of a weird name for a green, but makes sense for the blue.
Wild Side is a surprise! In a good way. Unique, great performance and a stunner, too!
And then there’s Roxy. I normally don’t like cool blues on myself, but something tells me that I would enjoy wearing this blue!
Have dupes for the remaining 2 shades. Including backups of Sephora Fairytale.
I just might go to Sephora and take a closer look at these, eyeliners are my weakness.
The shades are gorgeous, even Wildside (a shade I normally wouldn’t like as an eyeliner). But the major issue is the micro glitter….
Now I want 3 of these for lower lid lining (all but Viper). I think I’ll get Roxy first. Thanks!
Been eyeing these ever since they launched! Love all the colors but limiting myself to 2 — Electric Empire and Wild Side. I knew Wild Side was a unique color as soon as I saw it. Thanks for the swatches and reviews!
I love Electric Empire but I have so many dupes (because I love that type of colour) that I really don’t need it. The purple one is lovely but the low score and the fact that I’ve got dupes combine to make it a “no” also.
I think I’m going to pick up Roxy. Not a color for my every day basis, but it is a beautiful blue and I think it could be fun to play with. If they end up making these in a mini set I’d definitely give all of them a try. One can only hope for a Christmas miracle 🙂
Hm… These might be fun to pair with my Afterdark palette.
Roxy is gorgeous; I might get that one. Viper is disappointing: UD can do great purple liners. I don’t know why they made this one so sheer when the blue and teal are so vivid.
I swatched Electric Empire next to Junkie on my hand and in indoor light, sunlight, etc. it’s identical. To my eye, it even has the same amount of shimmer! It’s going back as I have plenty of Junkie left. Both are gorgeous on the top lash line–I’m heeding the comments about not trying on the waterline.
