Dior Terra (786) Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Terra (786)
Dior Terra (786) High Fidelity Colours & Effects Eyeshadow Palette ($63.00 for 0.10 oz.) is comprised of warm, shimmery neutrals from peach to plum that tends to over in the more mid-tone area of the color spectrum. It works as a standalone palette, but I imagine that it’ll be more versatile when paired with your favorite matte eyeshadows (particularly for more depth). All five shades were pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with–no complaints–which made it one of the best quints Dior has released recently.

This palette kind of reminds me of the Smashbox Petal Metal palette, which I bought when it came out, but I struggle with. I think the shades in these two palettes are too warm for me. Pretty, though.
I was literally waiting for your review to buy this. I love to colors, the design, I like to collect Dior quints. The only thing that was left was to know if it was any good. Already ordered it!
Looks gorgeous! Simple, elegant (if not very dupeable) and luxe.
Yum.
Correction needed in your product description? Box & product packaging says 3g / 0.10 oz. Your description says 0.24oz. Looks like they shrunk the product weight QUITE a lot from prior quints.
The formula is different (more baked-gelee, which are usually lighter, than traditional powder) – it’s an automated system, so it fills in with what was originally entered for the formula. My stupidity is what prevented the right information from going since that’s my job to change it manually!
Love it, love it love it! ?
I’m imagining that it gives off that melty vibe like Chanel EdD or no? As Seraphine said above, it does seem to look like Smashbox Petal Metal, so I’m not 100%.
This palette is so gorgeous, I wish I could wear these colors!
5 utterly dupable brown-tones w/ mild shimmer.
Well-placed and textured to make an attractive pan . $63. Meh.
“Good taste” isn’t that hard to find.
Not everybody has as robust collection as you might, and there are always new people getting into beauty or people replacing old favorites. There’s always room for quality products, IMO, but that doesn’t mean that anyone has to buy them all either!
Great rating!! I’ve been waiting ! Can’t wait to get it! Thanks Christine
I think this is a fabulous quint and I agree with you Christine, it is one of the best that Dior has put out in a long, long time. For sure the shades are all dupable, but they are beautiful for a warm neutral look. Terra 4 is stunning. Love it.
Wow!! So glad to see a Dior quint score an A! I don’t need this one, but the colors, design, and embossing are still stunning! Dior shadows at their best! Love shade # 5
I work for Dior and have used this and the other palette from this collection on clients and you’re right on accurate. They’re truly beautiful easy to work with shadows and I know that’s not always the case with Dior shadows! The only caveat is they’re both VERY hard to get your hands on now, you basically have to order straight from Dior site.
Why do I always feel a little surge of delight and almost pride when a Dior 5 pan scores well? Heck, it’s not like these are my children or anything but I take it almost personally! This one is totally NOT my colours but I’m glad it reviewed well.
Dior knocked it out of the park with this one. Good on them.
I’m going to play Devil’s Advocate and say that the last color could have been a tad more burgundy to make it stand out a bit better from the first shade, but all in all, a good-looking quint! Not needed for my stash, and well outside of what I’d consider spending on a small eyeshadow palette, but … pleasing to look at.
Are we sure Dior is really putting out A-grade material?
When considering the (more affordable) competition, I feel like luxury makeup is getting easy A’s (from everyone) because they’re improving – albeit not to the level of its competitors who might be graded on a tougher scale? Just an observation that I’m genuinely interested in hearing people’s thoughts on.
All products are being rated on whatever the brand claims the product/formula to do — the same as all other products reviewed and rated on the blog. Price nor past performance is not taken into an account.
I welcome you to share your own review, if you’ve tried this product, and how it hasn’t lived up to your expectations but I have clear reviewing policies that I’ve laid out so I’m not sure where your question is coming from.

I encourage you to read through my reviews, read through “Formula Overview” when the section exists (it goes into depth about overall performance based on claims, so I’m not repeating myself with each shade’s review), and actually look at the hundreds of reviews I put out each month before making generalizations about my body of work.
