Too Faced Unicorn Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is described as a “matte bright orchid.” It had semi-opaque color coverage (the natural lip color still comes through a bit) with a mostly matte finish, though it wasn’t as flat as the other shades in the range. It applied slightly unevenly. The texture was thin, smooth, and lightweight, but the formula was still drying over the five hours it lasted. Makeup Geek Grapevine (LE, $12.00) is less pigmented (95% similar). KVD Beauty Susperia (P, $20.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Heroine (P, $19.00) is lighter, glossier (90% similar). Anastasia Vintage (P, $20.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Milani I Am Cool (P, $6.99) is glossier (90% similar). Urban Decay Cloud9 (LE, $18.00) is cooler, glossier (90% similar). MAC Recollection (P, $21.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Dior Superstitious Matte (789) (P, $35.00) is glossier (95% similar). Anastasia Rage (P, $18.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). ColourPop Zipper (DC, $6.50) is darker, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Shay Day (LE, $6.50) is darker, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Lychee (LE, $6.50) is lighter, brighter (85% similar). KVD Beauty LUV (P, $19.00) is warmer, glossier (85% similar). Buxom Ultraviolet (P, $22.00) is lighter (85% similar). Urban Decay Crank (P, $18.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Urban Decay Pandemonium (DC, $18.00) is cooler, glossier (80% similar). Makeup Geek Charleston (LE, $12.00) is darker, more muted (80% similar). Urban Decay Jawbreaker (DC, $18.00) is darker, cooler, glossier (80% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Too Faced Who’s Zoomin’ Who Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is described as a “matte deep sapphire.” It’s a deep navy blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. It was slightly thicker than the other shades, so the dry down was longer. However, it dried to a very dry consistency where parts of the color flaked off as soon as I moved my lips. The color “cracked” when I smiled. I had blue bits and flakes coming off all over my coffee cup, even after letting it set and dry down for four hours. I tried re-wearing it again, and I still had issues with the color flaking just by pressing my lips together a few times. It was extremely drying. KVD Beauty Poe (P, $18.00) is darker (95% similar). ColourPop Climax (P, $6.00) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Heroine (DC, $18.00) is glossier (95% similar). MAC Indigo-go (LE, $19.00) is lighter, glossier (90% similar). Anastasia Cobalt (P, $18.00) is glossier (90% similar). Sephora Violet Vertigo (103) (P, $14.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Guerlain #333 (P, $36.00) is lighter, more muted, glossier (85% similar). KVD Beauty Bruno (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, darker, brighter (85% similar). KVD Beauty Echo (P, $20.00) is darker, more muted (85% similar). Makeup Geek Wild Child (P, $12.00) is lighter, glossier (85% similar). ColourPop So Wavy (LE, $7.00) is lighter, brighter, glossier (80% similar). Maybelline Midnight Blue (DC, $7.49) is darker, glossier (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

FORMULA OVERVIEW | Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick ($21.00 for 0.23 fl. oz.) is supposed to apply l ike a gloss but dry to “an ultra-matte, opaque finish” that is “never dry, shriveled, or cracked” that should “last for hours.” Most of the shades are unforgiving once they dry down and emphasize lip lines, look “cracked” if you smile, though they feel lighter-weight than they look. It’s one of the more unflattering liquid lipsticks I have tried as many shades highlighted lip lines, and while the lipstick itself wasn’t extremely clingy, there was a dryness present there that, at times, made my lips tingle/ache. For me, the wear was between four and six hours, as a lot of the shades faded unevenly and were faster to breakdown than the average liquid lipstick. The formula is thin, more water-like (reminded me of ColourPop’s formula but sometimes thinner) with a fairly quick dry-down time.

Unicorn is such a pretty color, love it! Who’s Zooming Who is sad, it’s such a hard color to dupe, but cracks and flakes are a big no-no, especially obvious with such a dark blue color

What a disappointment! Who’s Zoomin’ Who is the kind of blue-violet color that I love, love, love, but this looks unsalvageable! What a shame! At least I have a decent dupe for Unicorn (MAC Heroine).

I was so excited about these! I can barely stand the KVD ones because dry formulas are way too uncomfortable on my already dry lips. :'(

Sea Witch is a good choice for sure. And I own Blue Velvet and would definitely recommend it as a good dupe. I like KVD Echo, but JS Blue Velvet kicks its butt a bit. And you can layer Blue Velvet+I’m Royalty (deep purple) to intensify the indigo/cobalt effect.

I definitely recommend both formulas but I think Jeffree Star’s formula is superlative. It’s the only formula that beats out KVD for me. Pretty Zombie’s formula is closer to Kat’s on me so definitely great and one of the best, but JS is the most comfortable by far and never patchy.

Thank you so much Celia!!! Good to know!!! I might buy from Pretty Zombie too at some point then because the names are just the best. Sea Witch > Blue Velvet by farrrrrrr lol!

They look really cool on you! But the wearability (or not!) of Who’s Zooming Who is off-putting. I’d consider a similar colour to Unicorn, might look at the dupes.

That blue is too pretty! I got 1998 as an early birthday gift and I found I really liked how the formula sat on my lips, no dryness or cracks but my lips usually have no problems with that or I apply it when my lips are stretched out, I even find some “drying” formulas a bit moisturizing. I’ll definitely need to give this shade a go since it’s so pretty.

Oddly enough, I had great results with Who’s Zoomin’ Who (even if the grammar in the name destroys me inside a little). I found the lighter shades were the really problematic ones for me. They would dry down in a really unattractive way, and develop that nasty white line on the inner rim of my lip, which is a big no-no in my opinion due to how many other brands have nailed the formula.
WZW, Evil Twin (deep black/berry), and Naughty By Nature (rich brown) have all performed wonderfully for me, though.
