Editor's Review

It is supposed to be a “long-wear, full coverage liquid lipstick with a smooth, matte finish.” Of the liquid lipsticks on the market that go and have a full dry-down, Kat Von D’s formula remains my favorite, as it is the easiest to apply with the kindest learning curve and lasts awhile.

Some shades are more drying than others, but typically they don’t get drying until after five to six hours of wear. They often wear anywhere from six to ten hours, depending on what you’ve had to eat or drink during the day. This formula is thin but not watery, has a longer dry down than most liquid lipsticks (but I noticed some of the newer shades dried to a mostly dry finish faster), and layers better than most (you can touch-up or add a second layer for more coverage).

It takes about a minute for it to mostly set, but it will remain a little tacky in places for up to three minutes so you’ll want to avoid pressing your lips together if it doesn’t seem totally dry initially. There isn’t a noticeable scent or taste. If you don’t mind the trade-off between very long, near-pristine wear and being drying, it’s worth checking out. As a bonus, these also come with one of the most generous amounts of products within the realm of liquid lipsticks!

I love the staying power! It's nice and pigmented, but the shade doesn't really have any blue in it at all. This is grey with a tiny overcast of blue. It's still a nice color and formula, but I really was hoping it would be like the swatches on this page. This didn't dry out my lips, and application was super easy. It's probably best to make sure lips are smooth, though, because it will show cracks and stuff.

I'm sad this was recently discontinued. It's a really pretty magenta color, and it smells like birthday cake! I love KVD's liquid lipstick formulas, as they are not sticky and they are long wearing and so easy to apply!

The formula, at least for this color, is great and mask-friendly. It does not move or transfer which is amazing. My only problem with this is that I chose the color poorly, it looks almost beige which is not great for my complexion.

Lolita is definitely a classic of KVD! I would describe this color as an antique rose. It's a very charming color that in my opinion is incredibly versatile. I have worn this to a wedding, to a concert, to work and school, and even once borrowed it to my 85 year old grandmother to wear for church - and she looked stunning. Lolita has been called universally flattering and I'd have to agree. Like all of KVD's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks, the formula and applicator is amazing and near-perfect. You only need one swipe of color, and the doe foot applicator is so easy to work with that you don't need a lip liner. It also dries quickly without feeling sticky and lasts for hours.

This was the first lip product from KVD I had ever purchased. Bow n' Arrow is still my go-to for everyday looks, as it is one of the most beautiful nudes I've ever come across. The formula is comfortable and really does last all day, and the doe foot applicator is near perfect so you can apply this effortlessly. My only issue with it is that it sometimes shows lines in my lips, but that's not anything new and you'll get that with most liquid lipsticks.

This is the first time I've tried a Kat Von D product. I love how creamy it is when applying, how fast it sets and how it's super long lasting! The color is beautiful and was recommended to me directly in the Walnut Street store. Will definitely be checking out more of Kat Von D's products!

I always wanted this liquid lipstick, as I look back, it was probably because of the name and design of it. But as I purchased my first lipstick I was very disappointed. The pigment was crazy, one swipe and I was good to go. BUT it is extremely drying and sticky. My lips were dying when I was wearing this lipstick. So I tried all methods I could think of to prevent it. I exfoliated, put vaseline, put lip balm, drank lots of water. Nothing helped. I still wear those two shades I own, but only because it was so expensive. It is definitely not worth the money for me and I will not be purchasing any other liquid lipsticks.

I love the colour of Plath, it's my perfect dark red-brown without being too brown, but I don't love the formula. Very matte which is a plus but these are SO drying. They are long wearing but not through meals, even non-greasy foods. After a few hours I always get that tell-tale line along my inner lip and they don't always layer easily so it can be a pain to reapply. However, I will persevere because the colour is perfect and they last a very long time.

I know Kat Von D is like our holy mother when it comes to liquid lipstick, but I just didn\'t like this product. It isn\'t bad, the color pigmentation is great. You don\'t need a lot to cover your lips so it will last FOREVER. I did find the wand, crazy long, which drove me batty. My only negative, and it is a big one, is that even with a lip liner and setting powder it transfered all over my face the three times I wore it. Even though the color was killer, it had to go in the trash.

I'm not a big fan of liquid lipsticks, because I just don't enjoy that matte, dry feeling on my lips, but I'm willing to put up with it for this colour! Mother is such a lovely medium pink, and I honestly think it's a universally flattering shade. I personally find it quite versatile, too, since I can wear it with natural makeup, as well as for evening looks. If anything, it's my favourite lip colour of the moment. This product is quite pigmented, and a little goes a long way. I would avoid layering this product if I were you, just because it can get quite thick and uncomfortable, but you wouldn't need to. Of course, it has the typical liquid lipstick downfalls of being quite drying, but compared to a lot of other formulas, it's bearable. If you were going to pick up any colour from the Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick range, I would highly recommend this one!

Literally the perfect liquid lipstick formula. The colour is so beautiful and rich. Reapplication is no problem and it also combines well with other liquid lipsticks.

I'm so glad KVD decided to re-release this for those who didn't get it the first time a chance to buy it. Its absolutely a beautiful red tone lipstick. KVD's revamped formula helped a lot for wear. Its not drying at all, smooth and comfortable on my lips with a thin layer of lip balm underneath. It lasts all day, through eating and stays vibrant even after 6 hours of wear. I highly recommend getting a hold of this color before it sells out again.

I like Kat Von D liquid lipsticks because they're lightweight and last through just about everything. This one is the same, except I noticed this particular shade is slightly more likely to transfer than the others. I don't have a problem with it feeling drying.

Lipstick. The simplest accessory that is always a good choice to compliment any outfit. When our lipstick looks great, we feel great! It's the ultimate confidence boost. Lately, liquid lipstick has been gaining lots of popularity due to its lasting power and high pigmentation. With so many brands to choose from, who has the highest quality? Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick! Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is superior to other popular brands, such as Buxom, in terms of the formula itself. When using Buxom’s liquid lipstick, it was extremely disappointing. The texture was similar to whipped cream and the lipstick failed to dry, causing lots of transfer throughout the day. With Kat Von D’s Everlasting lipstick, this isn’t an issue! The texture is very lightweight and it glides on smoothly. It also dries fairly quickly and stays in place throughout the day, even after eating and drinking. Upon purchasing my first shade of Kat Von D’s lipstick, I was very impressed! It was super pigmented which allowed me to use less product, it was easy to apply, it wasn’t messy, and it was very comfortable on the lips. In addition to the great quality of the lipstick, they also have a wide range of amazing shades that compliment every skin tone! This was one of the things that appealed to me when initially deciding to buy this lipstick because usually, it is hard to find a brand of lipstick that has a good range of shades for girls with deeper skin tones. Because of my amazing first impression of this product, I purchased four more shades. I wasn’t disappointed! The only negative thing about this product is the fact that it can really dry your lips out if you don't properly prep them before applying it. You should always get rid of any dead skin and moisturize your lips before applying this product to get the best results. However, over moisturizing can cause the lipstick to turn into a gloss, so you should be mindful of this when preparing to apply the lipstick.

I got a mini of this as a sample from one of my Sephora orders and I have to say it's an amazing liquid lipstick. The colour is completely opaque on the first swipe, quite nice (although I've heard it can be a little orangey on some skin types) and suits me well. The formula is smooth, becomes completely not sticky when it dries after a couple minutes, and very easy to apply. It doesn't emphasize lip lines or dry skin too much either, and it stays on all day with minimal transfer (but it will smudge if it is brushed accidentally). The formula is a little drying afterwards but for a matte liquid lipstick that succeeds in every other aspect I would consider it worth it!

Yaaaaaas girl ! This is my all time favorite shade, and my go-to lipstick for all occasions! I love Kat Von D's Liquid Lipsticks, but Lolita was the shade that first won my heart. its a pink-y brown color and it just looks great with a dramatic eye, a bold colorful eye, or just a natural toned down look. it can be reapplied without the fear of it looking caked on [but there is no need because it lasts ALL DAY]. The formula is a bit drying [it is matt, of course], but not to the extent that your lips have been drained of all it's youth. It also glides on very smoothly, and begins to dry about a minute after application [which makes it very easy to apply]. This is a great lipstick shade to try if you're new to make-up, want a high quality lipstick, and want to dip your toes into some color without it being too overpowering. Love it!

I love this shade of lipstick, and i was thrilled that Kat Von D came out with it. I absolutely love her liquid lipsticks because i can eat and not worry about it smearing all over my chin. However, i was a bit disappointed with this shade. normally, her liquid lipsticks are SUPER pigmented, but its hard to get an even coat in one swoop with this one. This shade is very dry compared to her other lipstick shades, [i imagine its because its a darker color?] and it cracks very noticeably. re-application can fix the cracking, but you can see the shade difference on your lips where you re-applied the product. my lips were moisturized, smooth and exfoliated prior to the application [as they are with all my applications]. as much as it is drying, and how the application is a bit uneven, the color is still B-E-A-utiful. i would recommend wearing this with a matching lip liner underneath : )

I absolutely love this product! This is my first Kat Von D item I have bought. The color is absolutely beautiful and the bottle itself is also gorgeous. This liquid lipstick doesn't dry out my lips at all and dries very matte. It almost feels like I have nothing on my lips. This is a product every beauty lover should own.

So I don't know if this color is really universally flattering like they claim, but it certainly looks great on ME! It's a great color when I want a subtle nude look, but nothing too pale. Stands up well against a dark eye look. I'm not a huge fan of matte liquid lipsticks but I find that this formula is not too hard on my already-dry lips.

Of the various matte liquid lipsticks that I've tried, I think this is my favorite formula. And Ayesha is one of my favorite colors! This is a more muted medium purple. I think it's a great Goth lipstick color, when you're looking for something different from a pure black or a deep red. I find it to be one of the more wearable purples out there, especially for my pale, cool-toned, freckly complexion.

First off- I'm disappointed that there are no written reviews, considering the price. Anyways, I am a liquid lipstick fanatic. I have tried everything there is to try. Kat Von D, was a super exciting find for me, considering all the reviews I read/watched. I like the formula, it feels good on my lips, and I enjoy the colors, and it is transfer proof. BUT- for the amount of money, and all the review, I expected this to be the best I've ever tried. Now, I'm not looking for perfection but I care for one thing- that the lipstick stays through the day without feathering/cracking. I don't mind fading- I'll re-apply, I don't mind dryness-I'll exfoliate, but I HATE feathering because you have to just remove the product. When I tried the product, I didn't use a lip liner, A. I have learned to apply without a guideline and B. At the price and hype I shouldn't have to worry about a non-feathering product. But after only 2 hours, it feathered- enough to be clearly noticeable. Now I'll use the two colors I bought, with liner, but I was disappointed. I have other products, cheaper products, that do not feather.

This is by far my favourite liquid lipstick - the colour is long-lasting and comfortable, wears away fairly evenly and doesn't ball up when you try applying a second layer. I have this in Double Dare, Outlaw and Nosferatu and although these are a fair bit pricier than the Sephora cream lip stain that everyone raves about, I think it's worth the extra money because you get more product, more variety of colours and better quality for just a $6 more. Definitely worth considering if you want to hop on the liquid lipstick train.

This is the first liquid to matte lipstick I tried. (I am late to the game) but I really like it! It lasted from about 7:30a to 1pm for me then I had to touch up as when I looked in the mirror it was a little funky. I exfolitated my lips with sugar scrub and used the bite lip pencil primer thingy before applying the lipstick in hopes that would prolong its longevity. I do love the color though and will just be sure to touch up at lunch - its probably my dry lips fault and not the lipstick. I have since tried zipper from colourpop and I think Kat Von D's LUV was easier for me to apply.

I found this at TJ Maxx for $6. The product is okay. I love the color but it is very messy to work with. Make sure to line your lips and put some balm on before applying. This lipstick is VERY drying. Once it is applied it will look great but if you eat, drink, smile the wrong way, or accidentally touch your lips you will have fuchsia pink all over your teeth. If I had paid $19 for this product I would have been very upset but since I only paid $6 I figure it wasn't money wasted.
