Here’s a look at the top 50 products reviewed in the month of November, plus a summary of how many products and brands were reviewed and a break out of ratings! 🙂

I think it’d be fun to go through what we used, purchased, resisted, and so forth each month, here are some questions:

  1. What were your favorites from the last month?
  2. What didn’t impress you?
  3. Did you return anything you purchase?
  4. Or successfully resist temptation?

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

What were your favorites from the last month? Probably the 2 Tarte single shadows I purchased – Shakedown and Grind
What didn’t impress you? one Sephora in my area has Tom Ford and I took a look but, for the insane prices, I wasn’t impressed (a good thing); also, the MAC In the Pink ED blush I got about a week ago – it’s nice but a whole lot less pigmented than I remember when these first launched and I first tried it
Did you return anything you purchase? No but I’m still a bit on the fence about the Josie Maran Milk serum I got.
Or successfully resist temptation? yup – more of the Tarte metallic eyeshadows – there were 2 or 3 that I liked that either weren’t being carried any longer or were too close to other shadows I’ve got dupes of and don’t use anyway (those burgundy tones!)

What were your favorites from the last month? The Natasha Denona Chroma Crystal topcoats. Hands down. So stunning.
What didn’t impress you? Nudestix Nude(art)ist Box Creator’s Palette (they sting! and they’re so drying!) and the Tarte Tartelette Toasted Palette
Did you return anything you purchase? I think I’m going to return both of the above.
Or successfully resist temptation? I’ve successfully avoided most of the holiday releases! Nothing that came out really impressed me enough to buy it.

What didn’t you like about the Tartelette Toasted Palette? I’m really tired of all the warm palettes that every brand is releasing, but being a big fan of Tarte’s eye palettes, I’m curious about this one.

I think mostly that it’s so similar to any other warm palette that I have… I found it almost identical (with the exception of a few extra colors) to the MUG autumn eyeshadow bundle from last year. The formula seems to have a lot more kick up compared to their In Bloom palette and the metallic shades are oddly chunky (but that could be the way I’m applying them, I usually use my finger to apply metallics to my lids). It looked beautiful in photos and on video, but is just one of those palettes I was disappointed with when I actually used it.

What were your favorites from the last month?
Two are worth mentioning:
1. Chanel Le Blanc Light Brightening Makeup Base SPF 30, Pink. It gives a lit from within look, feels good on the skin, and is perfect for mature and dry skin. I continue to be impressed.
2. Belif Moisture Bomb. I’m dry like Stephanie Nicole and Tarababyz and both recommend it. I got the full size during the Sephora sale, and I’m totally surprised by how much I like it.
What didn’t impress you?
Not that I’m a eyeshadow palette fan (no way), but I’m really, really tired of the red, orange, yellow, etc. palettes. It seems like every line carries at least one.
Did you return anything you purchased?
No. Most everything was a repurchase.
Or successfully resist temptation?
Too many to list! I could have bought so much more.

What were your favorites from the last month?
Tartelette Amazonian Clay Mattes palette continues to impress me. Other favorites of the month include MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow, MAC lipsticks in Flat Out Fabulous (new favorite) and Velvet Teddy (old favorite), Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in Raffinée, NARS Orgasm blush (I had stopped using it for a few months and now I love it again), Estée Lauder Intense Nude lipstick, Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara, Tarte Shape Tape concealer over Smashbox Undereye Primer, NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer, and ColourPop Lippie Stix in Lumiere (Ugh, can I just say how much I despise the word “lippie”? It makes me cringe!)

What didn’t impress you?
Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit, which was a Sephora birthday gift. This shade is too pale for me. I have similar feelings about Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig (I adore that name, though), but I haven’t given up on it yet. Also unimpressed with Kat Von D’s Studded Lipstick in Adora. It looks so pretty in the tube and got such a good review, but it doesn’t wear well on me.

Did you return anything you purchased?
No. Kept everything.

Or successfully resist temptation?
I did not buy the huge amount of lip products I put into the cart on ColourPop’s website during their sale. I came so close to pressing the purchase button, and the price was so good, but the last thing I need is more lip products, so I successfully resisted the urge and closed the window without purchasing.

What impressed you? NARS blanc de plange I think is how I spell the name but it’s this 6 color highlighter and bronzer palette that I wanted to get forever. The powders are buttery smooth and not too metallic so that it remains wearable.
What didn’t impress you? Sephora shipping of vib sale. Like, god are you serious? I didn’t hear back from the order I placed 17days ago and yesterday they just told me it was cancelled??! Sephora seriously needs a better holiday shipping system.
Returned? None
Resisted temptation? Subculture palette because sephora didn’t ship it out.

17 days? That’s crazy! Why was it cancelled? I guess I was lucky with my VIB sale purchase, which arrived 7 days after purchase. They forgot to add the free samples, but I emailed them and they added points to my account to make up for it. They should do something for you, too.

Mine arrived very late and without samples. Every year it’s the same thing. You’d think they could hire some temporary help. Totally ridiculous. But waiting 17 days and then get notified that the order was cancelled is beyond beyond. They should have kept the order open, apologized, politely asked if you’d wait until they could fill it, give you points and apologize again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn’t get my samples or my point perks… on either of the 2 orders I placed. They did give me perk points back when I sent in a complaint.

This past month has certainly been impressive with so many high quality, and very beautiful new things! And a bit too fast paced. Whew!!!
Out of them all, I’ve really been swept away by Pat McGrath’s LuxeTrance Lipsticks and Mothership palettes. The palettes being just too pricey for 10 eyeshadows, though. The lipsticks are far easier to justify the price of. Enough so, that I did order one directly from PMG.
The other one that seriously impressed me was the Huda Obsessed 9-pan e/s palettes!

Monthly favorites: Chosungah 22 Luminous Light Blender Foundation in Porcelain, UD Eden Primer, J One Jelly Pack in the white bottle, MAC VG 1.

What didn’t impress: Julep Lips, too emollient and travelled up my lip lines. Not a pretty look. My lip lines are pretty deep and it is a challenge to keep even drier lip products from travelling so not sure why I thought these wouldn’t.

Returns: None

Resisted temptation: So much but obviously nothing that I really wanted badly.

Favorites from the last month Dior Addict Lip Tattoo in 351 (Natural Nude), YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in 16-Nude Emblem, Nudestix Lip Pencil in Saint (I have it today on my lips), Nudestix Illumi-naughty (I just love the natural wet look that it gives), the Caviar Eye Sticks Set from Laura Mercier that I got during the Sephora sale (especially Au Naturel and Amethyst), the MJ Glambition ES palette, two L’Oréal x Balmain lipsticks in Confession and Fever, Hourglass Blush in Mood Exposure and two items from the MAC x Robert Lee Morris collection (the blush in Linda and the lipstick in Pumpkin).

What didn’t impress me There’s nothing I didn’t like.

Returns None. As I stated several times, I don’t like to waste anything. If I’m not sure about a product, I prefer to go and check it in person. If I take the risk of ordering it online, it’s on me if I don’t like it. I return a beauty item only if it’s expired or if it’s broken to the point of being unusable.

Successfully resist temptation There is a long list of temptations to which I resisted.

Favorites from the last month: I especially love Laneige lip mask… love the smell which isn’t too strong, but love how my lips feel in the morning. I also really like Urban Decay Vice lipstick in Rebel.

Not impressed by: Violet Voss taupe eyeshadow palette.
Returned: Violet Voss eyeshadow palette…tomorrow.
Resisted temptation: I didn’t know that was an option… I’ve been getting multiple packages every couple days for the last couple of weeks as my orders are coming in. Still have a MUFE eyeshadow order I’m waiting for, another one from Ulta and one from Sephora. THEN I plan on doing some resisting 😁

I bought so many things this month. Ugh!

IMPRESSED: Bite Beauty Blush Pearl (only got a B- here, but the minute I put it on I immediately went and bought a backup. If you have an expectation of sheer and just catch yourself in a mirror at an angle it is just that something extra) . MAC Pink Trip and Fenty Plutonic Relationship (sooooo gorgeous). Bite Beauty High Pigment pencils (I ordered a bunch and I’m sad these are being discontinued because they really are long-lasting and so pretty).

NOT IMPRESSED: Erborian Matte Soft-As-Powder lip balm (color a little lacking, feels nice on the lips but not $20 nice). MAC Stylishly Merry (original) ( creased like crazy and wore off much faster than the other extra dimension shadows I have – I’ll try again).

RETURNED: Goes with not impressed, I guess, but I ordered THREE Viseart Neutral Mattes (not at the same time) and all three came damaged. The first one was the worst – every single shadow came undone and was smashed to powder when it arrived (and it arrived with my Viseart Bijoux Royale which was pristine). I returned it and ordered another one because I was still in the original VIB Rouge sale window and that one came with over half of them loose and completely smashed to powder. So I returned that one and ordered another one during the second sale window and that one had the dark purple color completely loose and partially empty. I finally said screw it, moved what was left of the purple into a Z palette and decided to keep it because I got sick of returning them. I’m not sure if it’s Viseart or Sephora that’s the problem here, but I am not pleased and I haven’t even used it yet because I’m a little disgusted by the whole fiasco.

RESISTED: By the fact that my hallway looks like I robbed the warehouses of Amazon, Sephora, and Zoya, I did not successfully resist anything except maybe placing a second Zoya order on Cyber Monday.

Completely missed the questions:

What were your favorites from the last month? Pat McGrath’s lipsticks to drool over, but for me personally it was the Elzabeth Arden lipsticks that I loved the best.
Ordered the Chanel Tisse l’Automne – as it was on sale for 40% off and the Clarins Natural Brown 03 quad, 35% off. Had been eyeing these for awhile.
I also liked the Huda Smokey Obsessions Palette that I hope to get oneday…

What didn’t impress you? Most of the eye shadow palettes are too warm, too red, orange and pink for me. Also too sparkly, too metallic.
Did you return anything you purchase? No – didn’t need to and very difficult to do here.

Or successfully resist temptation? Yes, on quite a few skincare items (as I have a lot already) from the various sales and really did not purchase anything much during the Cyber Monday sales.

Favorites from last month :

*KVD Saint and Sinner Palette
*KVD Mad Max Brown Ink Liner
*Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette
*MAC Whisper of Gilt from LE Snowball collection
*MAC Tempting Eyeshadow
*MAC Blonde Streak Pressed Pigment
*Trish McAvoy High Volume Mascara in Jet Black

What Didn’t Impress :
Too Faced Hangover Primer. It’s just ok but I wasn’t wowed by it. Luckily I just have a sample. But I feel the same thing about the Becca Ever Matte Priming Perfector. Glad I didn’t go for the full size. Face primers and me were just not meant to be!

Return Anything : nope

Successfully Resist Temptation : most of Black Friday shopping!

What were your favorites from the last month? From what I bought: ABH Prism Palette, UD Distortion Palette, LORAC Color Source Buildable Blush in Ultraviolet, Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Palette, ILNP Nail Polish in Reminisce, and Elizabeth & James Nirvana French Gray.

What didn’t impress you? The Too Faced White Chocolate Bar palette. And the fact that I STILL have not received my Clover Palette from Too Faced, and they haven’t answered my email to CS.

Did you return anything you purchased? No

Or successfully resist temptation? I resisted the MAC x Robert Lee Morris blushes, Kylie Jenner The Purple Palette (I’m not a fan of hers, but the palette is supposed to be really good), and the new Juvia’s Place palette.
