Pat McGrath 35MM, Sedition, McGrath Muse LuxeTrance Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
35MM
Pat McGrath 35MM LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation–just shy of full coverage–with a creamy, smooth consistency that felt a bit thinner and more emollient than other shades in the range. The majority of the shades in the formula apply well and look flattering on my lips, but I felt that this one was more prone to gathering in my lip lines, though it wasn’t too noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The color stayed on well for seven hours and was hydrating.

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.14 oz. - $285.71 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "intense color payoff" with "comfort" and "rich hydration" that has a "satiny sheen." Of the shades I've tried, they are richly pigmented, long-wearing, incredibly comfortable to wear from start to finish, hydrating, and generally flattering on the lips.
The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy enough to glide across the lips with ease but never felt slippery or too clingy. Most shades performed exceptionally well, and while pricey, they at least lived up to a lot of the claims. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Sedition
Pat McGrath Sedition LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a cream finish. The consistency was incredibly smooth and velvety with just enough thickness to minimize the appearance of my lip lines and make my lips appear smoother and fuller. It was just shy of full coverage, and the lipstick lasted for over seven hours on me and felt hydrating while worn.

McGrath Muse
Pat McGrath McGrath Muse LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark, orange-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single layer and had a smooth, lightly creamy texture that had enough slip not to tug but still adhered well to lips for a longer wear time (seven hours). The formula was hydrating over time, though there was a bit of color that gathered in my lip lines but I could only see that in close-up photos and not so much in person.

I thought I would like Sedition, but I like 35MM more. It’s a really nice deeper red which I like.
Never know whether to be sad or glad that most of these PMs are duped. Think i’m more sad, really want one. They are just so gorgeous in finish. You look more beautiful in each one.
So many of these Pat McGrath lipsticks are really beautiful but at $52 in Canada, there is just no way…. I’ll opt for less insanely priced dupes and maybe treat myself to one of these (the difficulty will be in deciding) in the new year but only if they become available in a store near me. No way would I risk spending that much on a lipstick I can’t even try before I buy.
Wow – those lipsticks are all stunning. Love them and I love your eye look too Christine.
Theyre all pretty, but 35mm is especially beautiful.
I wish I was at a point where I could justify spending this much on a lipstick, because either 35mm or Sedition would look great for me. The finish on these lipsticks just looks so nice in your photos 🙂
I guess I’ll add it to my list of things to consider if anyone give me a Sephora gift card for the holidays.
I really like 35mm, too. I just wish these were a little more budget-friendly to my puny budget!
Sedition looks and sounds fantastic! I love that it’s a deep, warmer toned red, as so many deep shades of red run quite cool. I love the cool ones, too, but this is a welcome shade that fills a bit of a gap!
Those looking amazing. Also, saw you were wearing the Huda Beauty foundation? What are your first impressions on it? I know you have drier skin like me so I would love to know your thoughts.
So sorry! I don’t feel confident giving out first impressions for a foundation – it usually takes me weeks to even be able to articulate how I feel about a foundation, and even then my words are pretty useless, LOL!
Awwwwww. Okay. Thanks anyways. It looks good in the pictures though!
does anyone else find the shape of these bullets incredibly pleasing to the eye? I almost find looking at the picture calming (yup I’m weird)
