Pat McGrath Psycho Candy, Tropicalia, Unnatural Natural LuxeTrance Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Psycho Candy
Pat McGrath Psycho Candy LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a neon, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque, but the formula had more slip than others in the LuxeTrance line, which I felt made it appear ever-so-slightly translucent in places. It did not read streaky, but it did seem to have subtle streaking along the edges that was only noticeable in close-up photos but not in person. The consistency was creamy and comfortable to apply as it did not tug. It wore well for almost eight hours and was hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.14 oz. - $285.71 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "intense color payoff" with "comfort" and "rich hydration" that has a "satiny sheen." Of the shades I've tried, they are richly pigmented, long-wearing, incredibly comfortable to wear from start to finish, hydrating, and generally flattering on the lips.
The texture was smooth, velvety, and creamy enough to glide across the lips with ease but never felt slippery or too clingy. Most shades performed exceptionally well, and while pricey, they at least lived up to a lot of the claims. There was no discernible scent or taste.

Tropicalia
Pat McGrath Tropicalia LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a slightly muted, medium-dark coral-orange with warm, orange undertones and a cream finish. It had opaque pigmentation that covered the lips evenly and smoothly. There was just a smidgen of color that gathered in my deeper lip lines but wasn’t apparent in person (just in the close-up photos). The consistency was lightweight, smooth without being too slippery or too dense, and comfortable to wear over the six hours it lasted for. The formula felt moisturizing while I wore it.

Unnatural Natural
Pat McGrath Unnatural Natural LuxeTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a deep, plummy brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick had rich color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly across the lips without dragging or tugging. The texture was velvety, just creamy enough to be comfortable to apply, but the lipstick adhered well to bare lips and lasted for a long time–seven hours. The lipstick seemed moisturizing to me throughout the time I wore it for.

OMG that Unnatural lipstick is sensational – beautiful shade.
Fortunately for my wallet, none of these shades would look good on me, though they’re really beautiful on you, Christine.
But I love the name Psycho Candy, because The Jesus and Mary Chain’s first album, Psychocandy, which came out in the 1980s, was one of my very favorite records.
Wow, I haven’t worn a shade like Psycho Candy in a while! It sparked something in me! I want to see if Pat is going to have anything for BF/CM before I open my wallet for her. 🙂
Oooh, unnatural natural. And before it, strange. Clearly, i’ve been self indulgent, since I have all the Audacious dupes. Covet City! But 2 dupe rule is invoked, and I shall refrain. Even though I choke on it…. Going to have to approach the PM swatch list with the thinking cap, rather than the quickened pulse. Probably should stay away entirely. Both formulas look as if they have serious addiction potential.
2 dupe rule! That’s genius! I need to start using that for eyeshadow… waaaay too many identical metallic copper shadows in my arsenal.
Uggghhhh. I want all of PM’s lipsticks. My poor wallet.
Looking at the shade, I’m amazed at the shade and how buttery the consistency is
I think I may have a problem….I love all 3. Tropicalia is the perfect wintertime shade of coral because it’s not vivid or neon like Tilt or Cozy.
Then there’s a tug of war deciding between Unnatural Natural, Strange or Flesh 3.
For summer; give me some Psycho Candy!
Unnatural is atop my wish list. These lipsticks are really beautiful.
WOWZA!
