Concord Grape

MAC Concord Grape Robert Lee Morris Mattene Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a deep, purple-leaning mauve with a subtle, pearl sheen. It had more of a “matte” finish, but there was definitely fine, noticeable pearl there, too. The lipstick was smooth, creamy, and comfortable to apply and to wear. The pigmentation was nearly opaque and stayed on well for six hours without feeling drying.

Fig

MAC Fig Robert Lee Morris Mattene Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a rich, reddened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the texture was creamy without feeling wet–more velvety–and glided on without tugging on my lips. The color went on evenly and did not emphasize my lip lines. It lasted for over six hours and was lightly hydrating.

Lychee

MAC Lychee Robert Lee Morris Mattene Lipstick ($25.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good color coverage in a single layer, but the creamier consistency did not seem to apply as evenly nor did it sit as flatteringly on my lips as the other two shades in this review. The color lasted for four hours but settled into my lip lines over time.

Oh my. Concord Grape and Fig are both so, so pretty. But I’ve been on a lipstick-buying frenzy lately, and also I really actively dislike the size/shape of the barrel on these. So I will hold off for now. But if they’re still available when there’s a sale, it’s meant to be.

These are just beautiful. I am trying to resist the temptation to buy Concord Grape. I love it so much but really shouldn’t since I just completed a lipstick declutter!! Going to have to mull it over for awhile. Since they are limited edition I need to make my mind up fast.

As pretty (and appetite inducing) as Concord Grape and Fig are, I am truly glad to have ABH Dead Roses and Maybelline Gone Greige to mix together for CG, and Chanel Rouge Vie instead. The price per oz. on these is ridiculous for MAC’s price range, EVEN for when they do their once yearly lux offering. Very off-putting for me, even though I now am craving Fig Newtons and red wine, strangely.

All the lipsticks of this collection are beautiful. but most of all lychhe (the perfect nude for fair skin tones) and Concord grape, so particular..
