ColourPop Stingraye Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “cool-toned mauve brown.” It’s a muted, medium-dark mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. There is a light sheen to it, and it has a more “plastic” like feel on the lips that is smooth but a little tacky and not fully matte. It applied well and wore for six hours with slight extra fading noticeable around the center of the mouth. It was lightly drying. KVD Beauty Lolita (P, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Hot Chocolate (LE, $19.00) is lighter, glossier (90% similar). Coloured Raine Cameo (P, $17.00) is lighter (95% similar). Pat McGrath Venus in Furs (P, $38.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Teeny Tiny Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep greyed out plum.” It’s a muted, medium-dark plummy brown with subtle, neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It had totally opaque coverage and applied evenly. The texture dried down quickly but with enough time to get everything into place, but it looked a little “shrinkwrapped” applied. The color lasted for six hours but was somewhat drying. MAC So Me (P, $21.00) is cooler (85% similar). Tarte Rave (P, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). MAC Topped with Brandy (P, $21.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Stingraye (LE, $6.50) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). ColourPop Wild Nothing (DC, $6.50) is brighter (80% similar). ColourPop Platform Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “warm beige nude.” It’s a brightened, light-medium peach with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque coverage that applied evenly and smoothly, though the color “cracked” somewhat as soon as I smiled. The texture was mostly non-sticky (though it was transfer-resistant). On me, the color lasted for six hours with some uneven color breakdown over the last two hours. It was lightly drying. Makeup Geek Curtsey (LE, $12.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Likely (P, $7.00) is glossier (95% similar). Fenty Beauty Up 2 No Good (P, $18.00) is glossier (90% similar). ColourPop Scrooge Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “rich rosy pink.” It’s a deep, raspberry pink with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had rich, opaque coverage that went on smoothly and evenly. The texture was fairly lightweight but did cling noticeably. It is matte and dries down fully, but it looks more “natural” on as it isn’t a totally flat finish. On me, the color lasted for almost eight hours and faded evenly, but it was drying. I just don’t like the super-matte finish; Scrooge is the only one of these that appeals to me at all, even though I think that Sting Ray and Teeny-Tiny are interesting colors.
I totally understand! It’s not a finish that appeals to everyone.
The lips are pretty, but the eyes are stunning! What’s on the eyes? Is that the new Kathleen Lights collection?

StingRaye at least *looks* comfortable! I say this because when I bought KVD Iggy last month, I did a test-run of KVD Lolita Everlasting Lipstick to see how it would do with my lips, and after 2 hours, I couldn’t stand how dry it felt! But that’s just me, I had a feeling all along that these types of lipsticks wouldn’t feel right to me, personally. Sooo, maybe StingRaye would feel ok for me, maybe?
KVD is still one of the best out there, so my guess is you may still find these lacking!
Yeah, I think something is wrong with my lips or something. Like they’re a bit too sensitive, especially to drying formulas or other weird ingredients. Probably the ones by Nyx or Tarte are my best bet, was hust hoping StingRaye may have been ok.
theyre so beautiful!!! I love them all expect platform! especially love stingraye
Yay!
OMG Gorgeous colors.
They are!
it’s amazing how different colors can look on different people. silhouette looks wayyy deeper on me, and teeny tiny and stingraye are more brownish.
the only thing i don’t love is how some of them (like silhouette) aren’t transfer proof, which is kind of what i’m looking for in a matte liquid lipstick. the other day one of my dogs decided to sit on me while i was wearing it and ended up with a red smear on his side, lol
Oh no! I find they are fairly resistant, even if they don’t feel quite as flat as the others, thankfully, lol! I can only imagine clean-up 😉
OMG what are you wearing on your eyes? It’s gorgeous!!!
Oh, and I like those lip colors, too!

I’m loving Scrooge! These have a nice finish. Not chalky! I’ve been a big fan of their finishes so far for matte stuff.
It is a more natural matte finish!
Hmm, the brown shades are reminiscent of the 90’s for me lol! Don’t think I’d wear them , especially not in a matt finish. The pink and red, I might wear but would rather get other CP lipsticks. Hopefully CP’ll come to the UK soon. One UK site does sell them but has a limited range. Love the eye look you’ve created here, it looks stunning!
I really hope they come to the UK this year!
I can’t stand Kylie Jenner but I do love the lip colors she’s made popular. It’s been hard to find exact duplicates for that look but Stingraye and Teeny Tiny look awesome! I’m currently wearing KVD Bow N Arrow but I like how Stingraye is more mauve than brown.
Stingraye was harder for me to dupe, though I certainly haven’t tried that many liquid lipsticks!
me, too, lol, I’ve been into them for a short while before she made them popular again and now i’m obsessed with everything brownish, though i usually wear warm rose-browns. I wish we got ColourPop here 😀
Such pretty colors! I have Stingraye currently on it’s way! 🙂 I love your eye makeup.
Thanks, Lupe!
A lot of KVD Lolita dupes!
I don’t know if I would say these are that similar to Lolita myself!
Whoops! You are right. Must have been my phone screen.
I love the look of Stingraye and Teeny Tiny!
Awesome 🙂
I just made a colourpop order, it shipped this morning, and I’m glad to say scrooge was in my order. I also got the kathleenlights color in telepathy. I hope the formula of the ultramatte works for me. I am more of a mac lustre girl but what its nice to try new things especially at this price point.
Awesome, Lacey! Keep me posted.
Stingraye looks good!!! xx
It does!
Do you know a good non-matte dupe for platform? I find any glosses that tone are too sheer and actually end up making my lips look darker even with such a light color.

Hopping on the Sting Ray and Teeny-Tiny train. Those colors are gorgeous!
Yayy! 🙂
Nice colors but prefer more gloss. Doesn’t have to be shiny but prefer more gloss than matte. Like at least a bit of shine.
Totally understand, Susan! 🙂
None of the shades really stand out for me (personally) but on you they all look really nice of course 🙂 I really like your eye look here!
Thank you!
These are soo pretty……. but I own SO many liquid lipsticks now. lol
Haha! There are SO many!!
These always look so darn tempting! I feel the fear from my poor lips though and I have to shut off my mind’s interest. I’m very sure by now that my lips need so much more to be comfortable and not react. If there is a liquid lip that can fit the bill, count me in then! For everyone else loving these I think it’s great! So many colors at good prices to choose from! I wonder if my 17 year old self would have worn these. ?
It’s good to know what you need and don’t need, Joy! You can admire from afar knowing that your lips are happy in other things 🙂
Scrooge is my favorite at the moment. 🙂 I had posted a picture of mine wearing Scrooge on your site 🙂
Nice!
Some of these shades definitely look quite similar to the brand’s own matte lipsticks that already exist!
I love the Stingaye (?) one ! And bright colors look so good on you ! x
stingRAYE looks amazing on you! it looks like a color YOU can rock with any look! i am definitely getting it! hopefully it will look half as good as it does on u!
Thank you, Sue! I bet it will be gorgeous on you!
I own the shade Tulle and is interested in StingRAYE, how similiar would you say the two are, and if whether or not it’s worth it to invest in StingRAYE too?
Stingraye is cooler and a bit lighter – I think they are different to have both, but it just depends if you want a cooler mauve shade!
