ColourPop On Cloud Blue Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
On Cloud Blue
ColourPop On Cloud Blue 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new, blue-themed palette that included five matte eyeshadows, three shimmer eyeshadows, and one pressed glitter. The mattes were on the more powdery side, but most of the shades applied well without having to be used with a primer, though one would help. The shimmers were on the thicker side, so they were better-applied using a fingertip or a dampened brush.

Ice BB
Ice BB is a very light blue with moderate, cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow yielded rich pigmentation in a single pass, despite being somewhat powdery in the pan. There was light fallout during application but most of the product stayed intact without sheering out too quickly. It lasted well for seven and a half hours on me.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Blu Taffy
Blu Taffy is an icy white base with pale, bluish shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that adhered evenly to bare skin but had some fallout as the texture was somewhat powdery, almost chalky as it was drier but clumpy. I’d recommend applying it with a dampened brush to minimize some of its issues. It showed signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

Clear Skies
Clear Skies is a light blue with subtle, cool undertones and warmer, pale gold shimmer. The color payoff was nearly opaque in a single layer, but it was opaque when applied with a fingertip. The texture was moderately dense, slightly thicker, which made it harder to apply evenly without the added pressure and warmth of a fingertip. It stayed on decently for eight hours before fading visibly.

Playin'
Playin’ is a light-medium, sky blue with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had nearly opaque color payoff that adhered well to bare skin and blended out nicely. The texture was lightly powdery with a smidgen of fallout if I wasn’t careful but was easy to work with overall. It wore well for eight hours before fading noitceably.

Deee-Light
Deee-Light has a transparent base with flecks of white and iridescent glitter particles. It contained plastic (PET) glitter and is not approved for usage around the eye area. The texture was more emollient, almost wet to the touch, and had decent dispersion applied to the skin. There was some migration after eight hours of wear when I tried it as a cheek highlighter.

Air Time
Air Time is a bright, light-medium blue with cool undertones and a frosted sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single pass, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was slightly denser and thicker, though not to the point where it was difficult to work with, but sometimes the more powdery mattes worked better applied under it than over it initially. It wore well for eight hours before fading visibly.

True Blue
True Blue is a faded, medium-dark blue with cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. The eyeshadow had semi-opaque color payoff that adhered evenly to bare skin but had some fallout while I worked with it. I’d recommend using it over an eyeshadow primer to build up the coverage as it was hard to do over bare skin. The texture was moderately powdery, slightly thinner and drier. It lasted decently for seven and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Not a terrible score for these types of blues, but most of these shades aren’t flattering with my eye color. I’m going to pass.
Didn’t colourpop already make an all-blue 9 pan palette…? Their releases are so confusing to me.
Oh, I see that they took it waaay back to the late 60’s, early 70’s with this palette. Yikes. It looks like all my Aunt Edna’s (among many others) eyeshadow colors!
🙂 Not to mention Ms. Piggy. She’d rock this palette.
I think Mimi from the Drew Carey show would absolutely rock this palette…and some of the shimmers are quite nice. I wish True Blue, the darkest shade had been a satin and a bit darker.
If indeed True Blue was a dark blue satin, I’d have to buy it. With this, blah. Also, out with the glitter one, replaced by a nice satin.
