ColourPop Cozy & Tansy Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks

ColourPop Cozy Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick
ColourPop Cozy Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

ColourPop Cozy Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “true orange red.” It’s a bold, bright medium coral-orange with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had totally opaque pigmentation with a creamy, thinner texture that applied with smooth, even coverage. The finish was more matte than the majority of the range from the beginning (less satiny). On me, the color wore really well for over eight hours, but it was a little drying. Urban Decay Tilt (DC, $22.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Tantalize (Right) (LE, ) is glossier (95% similar). Hourglass Muse (P, $28.00) is less glossy (95% similar). MAC Vermillion Vee (LE, $17.50) is glossier (95% similar). MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 (LE, $17.50) is darker (90% similar). Too Faced Sweet n' Sour (LE, $21.00) is lighter, less glossy (90% similar). Bite Beauty GTA (LE, $26.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Clinique Poppy Pop (P, $18.00) is darker, more muted, glossier (90% similar). Urban Decay Tilt (P, $17.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Toxic Tale (LE, $17.50) is lighter, brighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Rozz (LE, $17.50) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Tarte Daiquiri (P, $21.00) is cooler (85% similar). Estee Lauder High Level (P, $32.00) is lighter, cooler, glossier (85% similar). Givenchy Coral Gypsophila (LE, $36.00) is lighter, glossier (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Federico (P, $36.00) is cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop Tansy Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “medium-toned yellow brown.” It’s a medium-dark, yellowed brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had rich color payoff with a lightweight, thin consistency that applied with even, smooth coverage. The color dried down to a satin finish with light tackiness but didn’t lift off when I pressed my lips together. I only get a little transfer of color along the edges. The color wore for seven and a half hours well with little noticeable fading. It was very slightly drying overall. Colour Pop Hollywood Blvd. (P, $5.00) is darker (90% similar). NARS Linda (LE, $34.00) is lighter, glossier (90% similar). MAC Photo (P, $17.50) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Derriere (LE, $17.50) is more muted (90% similar). Bite Beauty Honeywheat (P, $24.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Bite Beauty Portobello (P, $26.00) is more muted, glossier (85% similar). Tarte Choker (P, $20.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Tarte Brownie (P, $20.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (85% similar). MAC Toast and Butter (P, $21.00) is more muted, cooler, glossier (85% similar). Bite Beauty Cremini (P, $26.00) is lighter, more muted, glossier (80% similar). Bite Beauty Porcini (P, $26.00) is lighter, more muted, glossier (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

FORMULA OVERVIEW | ColourPop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is supposed to be a “lightweight, bold lipstick with a satin finish” that is “extra intense colour saturation” and “long-wearing,” but the brand is quick to note that it is “not completely kiss proof.” The consistency is very light to lightweight with a thin to mousse-like consistency–they feel a little heavier going on than the Ultra Matte formula, but they don’t feel heavy on. They dry down somewhat, but it isn’t a full, flat dry down like matte liquid lipsticks, and when you press your lips together, there is moderate tackiness there, but I didn’t notice any lifting or separating of color by doing so. Thus far, they have been extremely long-wearing and comfortable to wear for the most part–it’s after ten hours or so that I notice my lips feeling a little dry–but six hours into wear and the colors have looked good post-meals/post-drinking. I think if you like the idea of longer-wearing, mostly matte lip color but find most liquid lipsticks too drying or too flat while not needing an ultra-hydrating formula, you might like these.

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner (Part 1)

Zoeva Black to Earth Graphic Eyes Eyeliner
Zoeva Black to Earth Graphic Eyes Eyeliner

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is introducing six new shades, plus a limited edition collector’s box of all 16 shades (plus a pencil sharpener) on March 21st. I will be reviewing all 16 shades across three posts over the next week! 🙂 Here is part one…

Zoeva Black to Earth Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a deep black with a satin sheen. It was incredibly pigmented with a really creamy, glide-on texture that was easy to apply as well as worked great for smudging as it took a little longer to dry. It didn’t, however, slide around while setting. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours before thinning on me. Too Faced Perfect Black (P, $18.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Colour Pop Swerve (P, $6.00) is less glossy (95% similar). Sephora Black Lace (P, $10.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Urban Decay Perversion (P, $22.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). MAC Squid (P, $17.00) is less glossy (95% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Blacquer (P, $25.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). MAC Black Brilliance (LE, $16.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Kat Von D Skully (P, $18.00) is less glossy (95% similar). MAC Definitely Black (P, $20.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Sephora Clubbing Stilettos (P, $10.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). MAC Graphblack (P, $17.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Urban Decay Perversion (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, glossier (95% similar). Buxom Call Me (P, $17.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). MAC Blacktrack (P, $16.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). Urban Decay Perversion (P, $20.00) is darker, less glossy (95% similar). NARS Black Moon (P, $24.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva It’s Never Over Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark rose with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had mostly opaque coverage in a single stroke, and it was fully opaque after two layers. The texture was creamy and easy to apply to the lash line. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Zoeva Mute Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark taupe with strong gray tones and a warmer undertone. It had good color payoff in one stroke, and the consistency was creamy enough to apply without tugging on the skin but still layered without lifting or moving the first layer of color. This shade wore for eight hours before fading. MAC Shoreline (P, $17.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Metropolis (LE, $16.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Smashbox Moody (P, $18.00) is darker (90% similar). Make Up For Ever S50 Satiny Taupe (P, $21.00) is darker, warmer, less glossy (85% similar). Colour Pop Timber (DC, $5.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Desperation (P, $20.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Lancome Pluie (P, $23.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). MAC Slate (LE, $16.00) is darker (85% similar). Urban Decay Smoke (P, $20.00) is darker (80% similar). Urban Decay Lure (P, $20.00) is darker, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Taupe Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark taupe brown with cooler undertones and a pearly sheen. It had sheer coverage in one pass, while it was somewhat buildable, it was hard to get really opaque, even coverage out of it as the pencil seemed waxier and more prone to lifting the color at times. On me, it wore for eight hours. Sephora Welcome to My Loft (LE, $10.00) is darker (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Nude Reflection Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium, taupe brown with warm undertones and lighter taupe frosted shimmer. It had good pigmentation in one pass, and I was able to build it to opaque coverage with two layers. It was lightly creamy with good glide and even coverage when applied to the lower lash line. The color wore well for eight and a half hours. Urban Decay Mushroom (P, $20.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Grey Tide (P, $17.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC It's Physical (DC, $16.00) is darker (90% similar). Chanel Perle de Lune (916) (LE, $33.00) is darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Pistol (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, warmer (95% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Regency Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark purple with cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque coverage in one pass, which was buildable to very nearly opaque coverage in two to three layers. The texture was lightly creamy with less slip than some of the other shades in the range (like Black to Earth). This shade wore for eight and a half hours before fading. However, worth noting is that I purchased this shade previously, and it was sheerer and more emollient. Kat Von D Homie (P, $10.00) is cooler (90% similar). Colour Pop Ho Ho (LE, $6.00) is darker, cooler (90% similar). Kat Von D Roxy (P, $18.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Ransom (LE, $20.00) is cooler (90% similar). Make Up For Ever I90 Iridescent Pop Purple (P, $21.00) is warmer (85% similar). NARS St. Marks Place (P, $24.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty (Grape)vine (P, $25.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

FORMULA OVERVIEW | Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is supposed to be a smooth, pigmented, long-wearing, and waterproof eyeliner. Overall, when they’re good, they’re really good, and when they’re less good, they’re still long-wearing, just less pigmented (but often buildable). The texture is very creamy, so they glide effortlessly and never tug on the lash line. The line has some more interesting shades than the standard eyeliner range, which is always nice to see. The wear varies between seven and nine hours depending on the shade.

ColourPop Mess Around Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick
ColourPop Mess Around Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

ColourPop Mess Around Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “mid-tone grey beige.” It’s a muted, medium-dark taupe brown with subtle, neutral-to-cool undertones and a satin sheen. It was richly pigmented with a creamy, smooth consistency that was lightweight and comfortable to wear. There was a slight tackiness if I pressed my lips together, but it didn’t create uneven color. The color wore well for over seven hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Stone (P, $17.50) is darker, cooler, less glossy (90% similar). MAC Cold Hard Cash (LE, $17.50) is lighter, less glossy (90% similar). Colour Pop Strut (LE, $6.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Colour Pop Pillow Talk (P, $5.00) is lighter (85% similar). Kat Von D Bow 'n' Arrow (P, $20.00) is lighter, warmer, less glossy (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

ColourPop TooLips Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “deepened plum brown.” It’s a deep, muted plummy-brown with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was totally opaque, while the product applied with smooth, even coverage and was a cinch to apply. The color wore on and on–it was still going strong after eight hours of wear–and was comfortable and non-drying to wear. Coloured Raine Soul (P, $17.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). Colour Pop Chilly Chili (DC, $6.00) is lighter, warmer, less glossy (85% similar). Colour Pop Teeny Tiny (P, $6.00) is lighter, less glossy (85% similar). Tarte Rave (P, $20.00) is lighter (80% similar). Makeup Geek Socialite (P, $12.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). Bobbi Brown Bond (P, $35.00) is cooler (80% similar).

ColourPop Lost & Prim Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks

ColourPop Lost Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick
ColourPop Lost Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

ColourPop Lost Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “warm-toned brown red.” It’s a muted, medium-dark red with warm undertones and a matte finish. This was one of the more matte shades in the range–it dried down rather matte within a few minutes (if you want to speed up drying time, just press your lips together a few times and the sheen lessens). It had rich color payoff with a lightweight, thin texture that applied beautifully and was easy to use for fairly crisp edges (without a lip brush). The color wore well for over eight hours, but it was a little drying after five hours of wear. NARS Rouge Indiscret (LE, $28.00) is darker (95% similar). NARS Golshan (P, $25.00) is brighter (95% similar). Colour Pop TGIF (DC, $5.00) is lighter (95% similar). NARS Fire Down Below (P, $28.00) is warmer (95% similar). ColourPop Prim Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “dark blackened red.” It’s a deep, muted burgundy with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It was intensely pigmented with smooth, even coverage that was easy to work with and didn’t leave streaks behind nor did it pull into lip lines. At this point, I most definitely sound like a broken record, but the majority of color was still going strong after eight hours of wear and still comfortable on. Maybelline Chocoholic (P, $7.49) is warmer (95% similar). Anastasia Brandy (P, $18.00) is lighter, less glossy (95% similar). Make Up For Ever C407 (P, $22.00) is darker, cooler (95% similar). ColourPop The Rabbit & Panda Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks

ColourPop The Rabbit Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick
ColourPop The Rabbit Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick

ColourPop The Rabbit Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “bright fuchsia with a subtle blue sheen.” It’s a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and fine iridescent violet shimmer over a satin finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff with a smooth, lightweight texture that applied with even coverage with little trouble. On me, the color was still 90% intact after eight hours of wear while still remaining fairly comfortable. I would consider it a non-drying formula. Urban Decay Firebird (LE, $18.00) is darker, glossier (95% similar). NARS Janet (P, $34.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). NARS 413 BLKR (P, $27.00) is more muted (90% similar). ColourPop Panda Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep pink violet.” It’s a bold, medium-dark purple-berry with cool undertones and a satin sheen. This one had a little more sheen than other shades, though after three to four hours of wear, it looked the same as the rest do by then. It had very nearly opaque coverage with a creamy, easily-applied formula that was even, smooth, and didn’t settle into lip lines. The color was still very much intact after seven hours of wear. The formula was comfortable to wear and neither drying nor hydrating. Tom Ford Beauty Theo (DC, $36.00) is more shimmery, lighter, glossier (90% similar). MAC Oh Lady (P, $21.00) is warmer, less glossy (85% similar). Colour Pop Plastics (LE, $5.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Pat McGrath Antidote (LE, $38.00) is cooler (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Scandal (226) (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). Bite Beauty Eggplant (P, $26.00) is lighter (80% similar). Colour Pop Are & Be (P, $6.00) is lighter, cooler, less glossy (80% similar). Bite Beauty Barberry (LE, $24.00) is lighter (80% similar). NARS Dirty Mind (P, $27.00) is darker, cooler, less glossy (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The TruBlend Blush formula is supposed to be blendable and create a “multi-toned result.” The texture is very soft and smooth, though it is a little on the powdery side; it tended to darken on the skin, but this seemed to ensure that it didn’t look dry or powdery when applied. It is, as described, easily blended and effortless to apply. The finish is really flattering on the skin without being too shimmery or too matte. The downside is that the more powdery texture makes it harder to build-up the color (it’s semi-sheer to semi-opaque), and it only lasted for six and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.
