CoverGirl Deep Mauve TruBlend Blush

CoverGirl Deep Mauve TruBlend Blush
CoverGirl Deep Mauve TruBlend Blush

CoverGirl Deep Mauve TruBlend Blush ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep berry with cool undertones and a soft, frosted sheen. MAC Blind Score (LE, $22.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). IT Cosmetics Magical in Mauve (P, $24.00) is darker (90% similar). Black Up NBL 03 (P, $26.50) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). Anastasia Exotic (P, ) is warmer (90% similar). Hourglass Iridescent Flash (P, $38.00) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Easy (LE, $26.00) is more shimmery, lighter, more muted (90% similar). Laura Geller Plumberry (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter (85% similar). Smashbox Bitten (LE, ) is less shimmery, cooler (85% similar). MAC Hot Nights (LE, $23.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). NARS Ferocious (LE, $30.00) is warmer (85% similar). Viseart Violet #3 (P, ) is darker, brighter (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The TruBlend Blush formula is supposed to be blendable and create a “multi-toned result.” It was the richest and deepest shade of the three that CoverGirl came out with this spring. It had good color payoff with a soft, smooth, and blendable texture (very key with a color like this!) that applied beautifully to the skin. The texture ran a smidgen dusty, but it didn’t look dry or powdery on me. This shade wore well for seven hours before there were signs of fading.

CoverGirl Light Rose TruBlend Blush

CoverGirl Light Rose TruBlend Blush
CoverGirl Light Rose TruBlend Blush

CoverGirl Light Rose TruBlend Blush ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a light, peachy-pink with warm undertones and a fine, golden shimmer. MAC Spellbinder (LE, $23.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Makeup Revolution Make Love Instead (P, $5.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Adored (LE, $33.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Ciate Summer Love (P, $26.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Benefit Sugarbomb (P, $29.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Makeup Geek Honeymoon (P, $9.99) is darker, warmer (85% similar). bareMinerals The Many Splendors #2 (LE, ) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Perfect Topping (2014) (LE, $33.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The TruBlend Blush formula is supposed to be blendable and create a “multi-toned result.” It had good color payoff with a smooth, blendable, but rather dusty, consistency that was prone to sheering out on the skin. It’s the type of formula that actually works best patted on with a damp brush or over still-drying liquid/cream foundation for better hold and coverage. This blush lasted for six and a half hours on me before I noticed fading.

CoverGirl Bronze (200) TruBlend Bronzer

CoverGirl Bronze (200) TruBlend Bronzer
CoverGirl Bronze (200) TruBlend Bronzer

CoverGirl Bronze (200) TruBlend Bronzer ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a golden, medium-dark bronze with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. MAC Global Glow (P, $33.00) is less shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Sunlight (P, $52.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Sunlight (P, $44.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Too Faced Spice (LE, ) is darker, warmer (90% similar). NARS Laguna (P, $36.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Pyrite (LE, ) is lighter (90% similar). Tarte Park Ave Princess (P, ) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Guerlain Terracotta Gold Light (LE, $60.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Burberry London With Love (LE, $68.00) is lighter (85% similar). Kevyn Aucoin Tropical Days (P, $48.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (85% similar). Too Faced Sun Bunny #1 (P, ) is darker, warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

The TruBlend Bronzer formula is supposed to be blendable and create a “perfect bronze glow.” It had great color payoff with a very smooth, blendable texture that was just a tiny bit powdery, but it was noticeably denser than the TruBlend Blush formula. The one thing I was caught off guard by was how the shimmer didn’t translate nearly as strongly on the cheeks once blended as it did just swatched on my arm–it was much more subdued, and as a result, there was no emphasis of pores either. On me, the bronzer wore well for seven hours before fading.

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner (Part 3)

Zoeva Glance Graphic Eyes Eyeliner
Zoeva Glance Graphic Eyes Eyeliner

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is introducing six new shades, plus a limited edition collector’s box of all 16 shades (plus a pencil sharpener) on March 21st. I will be reviewing all 16 shades across three posts over the next week! 🙂 This is part three (view part one and part two here)…

Zoeva Glance Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a dark, bronzy brown with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a really creamy, smooth consistency that applied evenly and easily. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me. Burberry Midnight Brown (P, $27.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). Make Up For Ever D62 Diamond Brown (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, lighter (95% similar). Sephora Cocoa (P, $10.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Groundbreaker (P, $17.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Lord It Up (P, $15.00) is warmer (90% similar). Buxom Come Over (P, $17.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Broque (P, $17.00) is warmer (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Myth Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a light, champagne beige with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-sheer color coverage in one stroke, which was somewhat buildable, but the texture, while very smooth and non-tugging, felt waxier and was harder to achieve really crisp, opaque lines with. The color had noticeably faded after seven and a half hours. MAC Paragon (LE, $16.00) is darker (95% similar). Sephora Blonde Ambition (P, $10.00) is lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Venus (P, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Snowed In (P, $17.00) is lighter (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Opulence Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a vibrant, medium-dark coppery red with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque coverage in one pass, which was buildable to opaque coverage in two layers. The texture was smooth and creamy, so it glided on easily and didn’t tug at the lash line. The color lasted for eight and a half hours on me. Urban Decay Fireball (P, $22.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Rock ‘n’ Roll Bride Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a blackened brown with warm, reddish undertones and fine ruby red shimmer. It had good pigmentation in one stroke, and it was creamy, though a little more slippery than it needed to be, and glided on well. This shade lasted for eight and a half hours before thinning. Urban Decay Dark Force (P, $22.00) is warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Stag (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Urban Decay Muse (LE, $20.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva The Truth Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, shimmering white with neutral-to-cool undertones. It had semi-opaque coverage but was hard to build up as it would apply unevenly, so some areas looked more opaque but denser/thicker than others. The color itself stayed on for eight hours. Urban Decay Cosmic (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Tarina Tarantino Crystal Gun (P, $15.00) is brighter (95% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

FORMULA OVERVIEW | Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is supposed to be a smooth, pigmented, long-wearing, and waterproof eyeliner. Overall, when they’re good, they’re really good, and when they’re less good, they’re still long-wearing, just less pigmented (but often buildable). The texture is very creamy, so they glide effortlessly and never tug on the lash line. The line has some more interesting shades than the standard eyeliner range, which is always nice to see. The wear varies between seven and nine hours depending on the shade.

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner (Part 2)

Zoeva After the Disco Graphic Eyes Eyeliner
Zoeva After the Disco Graphic Eyes Eyeliner

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is introducing six new shades, plus a limited edition collector’s box of all 16 shades (plus a pencil sharpener) on March 21st. I will be reviewing all 16 shades across three posts over the next week! 🙂 This is part two (view part one here)…

Zoeva After the Disco Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, medium yellow gold with warm undertones and a metallic sheen with slight gold sparkle. It had semi-opaque coverage in one pass, and it was mostly opaque after two layers. The texture was lightly creamy, glided on well, and wore for eight hours with a bit of fall out. Urban Decay Goldrush (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Atomic Ore (LE, $16.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Stargazer (LE, $20.00) is darker, more muted, cooler (85% similar). NARS Campo de' Fiori (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, darker (80% similar). MAC Powerline (P, $20.00) is less shimmery, darker (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Cool Factor Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark blue with subtle, cool undertones and a frosted sheen. It had sheer color coverage in a single layer, and it was somewhat buildable to semi-opaque coverage. The texture had a lot of slip to it, so it tended to go on more unevenly than other shades. It wore for eight hours but had sparkle migrate over time. MAC Industrial (P, $15.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Skyscape (P, $17.00) is less shimmery, lighter (85% similar). MAC Whirlpool (P, $17.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Good Karma Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark, blue-teal with gold and green sparkle. It had semi-opaque coverage but had a more stained quality to it, where there was translucency that was more even yet subdued compared to the way it looked in the pencil. The texture was sparkly, and it felt a little rough against the lower lash line. This is one of the more sparkly shades, and there is some fall out/movement of that sparkle during wear. The underlying color stayed in place for closer to eight hours. MAC Undercurrent (P, $15.00) is darker (95% similar). MAC Siahi (P, $16.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Junkie (P, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Sephora Fairytale (P, $10.00) is warmer (85% similar). MAC Take the Plunge (P, $17.00) is less shimmery, cooler (85% similar). Estee Lauder Emerald Volt (P, $28.00) is warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva Mr. Marvelous Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a blackened purple base with a ton of cool-toned violet sparkle. It is a more glittery shade, though not noticeably gritty when applying, but the base is streakier in one stroke. I was able to layer for greater opacity, at least. The eyeliner wore nicely for eight hours with some glitter fall out/travel. Urban Decay Retrograde (P, $22.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). Smashbox Nymph (P, $18.00) is warmer (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Zoeva New Jewels Graphic Eyes Eyeliner ($7.50 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark purple with cool undertones and a pearly shimmer-sheen finish. It had medium coverage in one stroke, which was buildable to opaque coverage in two to three layers. The texture was lightly creamy but less emollient than about half the range. It wore well for eight hours on me before thinning. Colour Pop Ho Ho (LE, $6.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). MAC Designer Purple (P, $15.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty (Grape)vine (P, $25.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Urban Decay Ransom (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Smashbox Nymph (P, $18.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Urban Decay Voodoo (LE, $20.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Milani Perfect Purple (P, $6.99) is warmer (85% similar). Kat Von D Homie (P, $10.00) is lighter (85% similar). Sephora Eccentric Diva (P, $10.00) is lighter, brighter (80% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty (Plum)age (60) (P, $25.00) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
