Whew! It took a bit, but I’ve finally finished reviewing all of the shades in the ColourPop Lippie Stix ($6.00 0.035 oz.) range that were released in the Big Box of Lippie Stix (which seemed to be the existing range of permanent shades). You’ll find the top 25 shades ordered from best to worst below.

The formula is supposed to have “full coverage” with a “long-wearing, ultra comfortable” feel. Because there are quite a few finishes in the range, some of the results depend more on the finish. The matte finish tends to be thinner, drier, and firmer in the tube, and they can, occasionally, tug on my lips noticeably during application, but usually have good pigmentation and long wear; they range from non-drying to somewhat drying.

The Creme finish has a creamier, more emollient quality to it that has excellent pigmentation, comfortable wear, and good wear time (four to six hours); it tends to be a little hydrating but occasionally suffers from issues where product gathers in lip lines or they don’t go on as evenly as they could. There’s a soft, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thanks for the recap. I bought a bunch of CP lipsticks like these a few years ago, and it seemed that all of them had too much of an underlying white base to them, or a one-dimensional undertone. Hard to explain but they weren’t flattering at all. I gave them all to a friend and even though she was less particular about lipsticks, she also ended up disliking their undertones and discarded them.

Must feel good to have accomplished that and it was a Herculean task. The lippie stix were my first introduction to ColourPop and at $5 I picked up a lot of them. I think they are easy to use and the relatively slim case makes carrying them in your bag really easy. You don’t get a ton of product but since it is difficult to use up a lipstick, it is enough. I like that the lids snap on very solidly so I don’t have to worry about a mess in my purse. I like the light vanilla scent and that you don’t taste it. There are some stunning shades and personally Bichette, Lumiere and I Heart This are among my favorite shades. In general, ColourPop hit it out of the park with these. Thank you for all the hard work in reviewing these, Christine.

Ah! You stole my thunder — I was literally thinking of the phrase “Herculean task” when I read the Christine’s summary. 🙂

I have a few of these and I really like them. Of course, I always go for the darker, more intense colors, and Colourpop has never let me down in that arena.

Okay … I meant to write “the summary…” then changed my mind and tried to write “Christine’s summary,” but failed at editing and instead made a reference to “The Christine.”

Which is not inappropriate 😉

I’m just shocked at how many ended up on my WL! Including shades I normally may have avoided, like Lumiere (because it’s so cool toned) or Casanova (neon pink?). These are definitely an inexpensive way to experiment with colors and shades that we may be reluctant to drop major $’s on until we know for sure that they will jibe with our coloring.
