ColourPop Aquarius Lippie Stix

ColourPop Aquarius Lippie Stix ($5.00 for 0.0357 oz.) is described as a “soft pink nude in a creme finish.” It’s a light-medium, rosy beige with warm undertones and a soft shine. The color was muted enough without being dark that it surprised me in its versatility–I felt like it could tone down a look or brighten a look. It had mostly opaque coverage with a very creamy, emollient texture with more slip than your average shade in the Lippie Stix range. It was very lightly hydrating over the four hours it lasted, but I did notice some of the color slipped into lip lines after two to three hours of wear. The thicker, creamier texture made it easier to press my lips together to smooth the color back out while wearing it, but it was worth noting. ColourPop Oh Snap (P, $7.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). MAC Zenith (LE, $30.00) is less pigmented, cooler (85% similar). Givenchy Beige Mousseline (101) (P, $36.00) is warmer (95% similar). ColourPop RAYEzor Lippie Stix ($5.00 for 0.0357 oz.) is described as a “warm peachy nude in a matte finish.” It’s a muted, medium peachy-brown with warm undertones and a satin finish. It’s almost coral-like, though it pulls browner and doesn’t have pink tones to it. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a lightly creamy consistency that was easy enough to apply without tugging on the lips. The color wore well for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. ColourPop Pinch (LE, $7.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Lippie Stix are vanilla-scented and come in twist-up tubes. Most of the finishes are not hydrating for me, but they are usually not drying either (unsurprisingly, the more matte a shade was, the more likely it was on the drying side). Note, they’re affordable because of a lower price point, but they do contain less product than your average twist-up lip product (about 0.05 to 0.07 oz.) and even less than your standard lipstick (about 0.10 to 0.12 oz.). Depending on how you look at value, it may or may not be as compelling of a budget product (e.g. it could be a good value if you rarely finish your lipsticks or are looking to try a shade you’re unsure about).

Wow, that’s the perfect eye look to go with the lippies, Kathleen Lights and Colour Pop are killing it again! My favorite on you is Taurus. Can’t wait to see reviews/swatches of the shadows

My favorite one here is Rayezor! It’s been in my cart ALL month, no joke. The other two, I’m thinking Aquarius is too light for me, and Taurus is too yellow-ish. Reminds me of Photo which makes me look ill. Yet, I get away with Royally Riotous with perfect ease! Weird, eh?

Only catch to these is as you brought out above: the amount isn’t much. So I’ve only gotten them in shades that are more novelty than everyday shades. Ie; I’ve only worn Nevermind 3-4 times since buying it.

Aquarius might surprise you, though! 😉

The amount definitely makes me think twice. If it’s a good formula, then it doesn’t matter to me, and it’s still cheaper than a high-end option, but if there is say, a Maybelline option, then Maybelline would be a better value. I’ve never finished a lipstick in my life, though, so the idea of a) finishing and replacing or b) paying less and trying more appeals!

Taurus looks great. Do you think it’s too orangey for a brown? I’d love to pick the lip liner up but I’m not sure it will pair with other browns in my stash.

I really appreciate how you show your full face with the lipstick on! It really helps to put the lipstick in perspective. You’re the best, Christine!
