Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick
Shiseido Murrey (RD305) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a soft sheen. This shade had very, very subtle streakiness due the more emollient consistency. I didn’t notice it from a normal viewing distance, but it is visible in the close-up. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and easy to apply as it didn’t tug or drag on the lips. It had mostly opaque color coverage that went on evenly. I was able to get four and a half hours of wear out of the lipstick, and it was moisturizing. Bite Beauty Éclair (DC, $24.00) is darker (95% similar). Shiseido First BIte (RD307) Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark red with warm, coppery undertones and fine gold pearl. FORMULA OVERVIEW | Shiseido Rouge Rouge Lipstick ($28.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as a vibrant, long-wearing, and hydrating lipstick available in 16 shades inspired by red. The pigmentation varied from semi-opaque to fully opaque with a lightweight, lightly creamy consistency that wasn’t too thin or too thick, so it sat well on the lips and made mine appear smoother. The colors applied evenly on the lips and didn’t drag as the texture is very smooth and emollient enough to have a soft sheen but not enough to slide around easily. The formula lasted anywhere from four to eight hours, which was nicely hydrating.

Wow, I love all of these. Especially First Bite! And your eyelook goes very well with all of these lipcolors Christine, beautiful!
Thanks a lot, Ouineque!
This whole line is stunning. I hope you do a roundup because I can’t even begin to decide which of these to get. I want them all! Every one is amazing and amazing on you. Such consistency.
Thank you!
I read the colours you featured last week and bought Sweet Desire. It is a MLLB shade that suits my fair colouring and dark grey hair. The formula is not as emollient as the Perfect Rouge lipsticks, with a more satin finish, but still very comfortable to wear. This is a new favourite and thank you for showcasing these new products. Shiseido is so often overlooked among the other new releases. I highly recommend this line for the lovely shades of red and the finish. Also, the price is excellent for a quality product. If you like Chanel red lipsticks, then check this new product line for some fabulous red choices.
Do you prefer the Rouge Rouge or Perfect Rouge?
I wore the Rouge Rouge for three days and found it hydrating. Perfect Rouge is more hydrating, but it has more slip and can settle in lip lines.
Ahh, gotcha! Thank you, Maureen!
Hi Christine, the pigmentation score for Burning Up is literally off the charts 🙂 I am guessing it is not supposed to be 25.5!
On a more serious note, I thought these colors looked like variations of the same muted rosy shade and found them boring when I saw your initial overview post. The more I look at them in these review posts the more I like them! Does Shiseido have a collection with a larger shade range?
I’m sorry – I’m an idiot! That is fixed now. The Rouge Rouge range only has the shades I posted in my sneak peek, sorry!
Oh no need to apologize Christine, I just wanted to let you know. I sometimes fail at wittiness online 🙂
Too bad about the shade range. Most shades are too pink for me. Perhaps I’ll pick one of the darker reds.
I appreciate you letting me know! 🙂 I feel quite badly, as I should be able to catch those types of errors, and while it was not meaningful on this shade, it has happened where it can turn a C+ to an A+ – and that is a big problem.
Wow, these are all so pretty! Not a dud in this bunch, or in this line so far. Shiseido is impressing me
The formula has been very consistent!
I love all of them but I wish that with this new collection that there was a bigger color selection. Most of the reds seem to be very similar & pinks. The formula is beautiful but Rouge Rouge needs to add a few more color variations.
Hopefully they will, though they are a brand with more muted ranges, I think.
First bite looks so good. Another one to add to the list. I guess I can buy a lipstick or two now, having sorted through my stash, tossing 4 lipsticks and 12 glosses 🙂
Nice job destashing, Helene!
I only have one shiseido product ( it’s their shimmering cream eye colour in GR707 a beautiful dark olive green that lasts all day on my oily/hooded eyes!!!) And iv been super intriged by the brand since I bought it!! I might have to look into these lipsticks!!!
I hope you can check these out, Shannon! 🙂
Even though I’m not a big “pink” lover, I do love Burning Up much more than I would have expected! And I’m also loving First Bite. No surprise there, though!
It’s so hard to pick a fave!
I love these! Sadly they are out of my budget. Maybe I can find one of the dupes!
I hope one of the dupes will work for you, Sarah!
Gosh these are pretty!!
First Bite is really pretty. I think it might be too warm for me though. I do enjoy them all! Bravo Shiseido. I don’t think there has been a dud yet.
I Just bought burning up and am loving it. They are all so beautiful it was very hard to decide.
Thank you for all the very useful reviews Christine.
