Chanel Camelia Fuchsia & Camelia Rouge Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Colours Reviews & Swatches
Camelia Fuchsia (347)
Chanel Camelia Fuchsia (347) Rouge Allure Velvet ($40.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, deeper fuchsia pink with neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly evenly in a single layer, though I felt like the texture wasn’t as smoothing or as flattering as I’d expect for the formula.
While my lip lines were less visible due tot he brightness of the hue, I felt like the color wasn’t quite even along my upper lip area. The lipstick had a smooth, velvety feel that was incredibly lightweight, thin (but not clingy), and easy to work with. It lasted well for six hours, left a faint stain behind, and felt non-drying.

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.12 oz. - $333.33 Per Ounce
The Rouge Allure Velvet formula is supposed to be a "non-drying matte lipstick" with "intensely rich, long-wearing colour" and has a "velvet matte finish." Over time, I felt like the formula has improved and is actually non-drying (the original launch did not wear well on me) to lightly drying (seen more in shades that have lasted six to eight hours). The pigmentation varies from shade to shade but is usually semi-opaque to opaque with a semi-matte to satin finish. The texture had a velvety, glide-on feel that doesn't feel particularly creamy or wet, yet the lipstick is comfortable to wear over the four to six hours it typically lasts for. Like most Chanel lip products, they have a rosy scent but no discernible taste.

Camelia Rouge (357)
Chanel Camelia Rouge (357) Rouge Allure Velvet ($40.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a vivid, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The texture was very lightweight (almost forgot I was wearing it), thin but not clingy, and velvety, so it skated across my lips with ease but didn’t feel traditionally creamy/moist.
It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly over my lips. The color wore nicely for six hours and felt a smidgen hydrating over time.

Camelia Fuchsia may not be 100% flawless, but that color is a knockout! This is one of those very rare shades of fuchsia I can pull off, so I may go for it.
Camelia Rouge is a stunning red shade. Love it.
I love the Fuchsia colored one for spring. I’m hesitant to pay $40 for a lip stick though. Although I foolishly paid $40 for PMG Gold Star Wars lip stick. The red is pretty too but I have YSL Scouts Red lip stick and need to use it more. I may end up buying at least one item from the Chanel Spring collection.
Both shades are totally gorgeous– and I can’t pick between them. Which is less of an issue than it sounds because I’m on a low buy. I had tried the YSL Scout Red, listed as a dupe. But it had more of a pink undertone.
