Rare Beauty Inspire Lip Souffle Matte Cream Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.13 oz.) is a bright, medium red with warmer undertones and a satin finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which could be built up to full coverage with less than a second layer (I could see the faint shadow of my lip freckle peeking through!).
The liquid lipstick had a smooth, very lightweight consistency that was more velvety and had good glide but wasn't traditionally "wet" or watery in any way. It felt more like a thinner, silicone-based face primer. Sometimes these more silicone-heavy lip formulas are less forgiving on my lips and highlight texture, but this shade went on well and didn't catch on flakes or dryness. There was a smidgen of product that sank into deeper lip lines that I could see in the close-up photo but not in person. It stayed on well for six and a half hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating (the lack of hydration, which was a claim, was really it's biggest downside!).
