ColourPop x Summer 2017 Pressed Powder Shadows Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 1)
Blow Fish
ColourPop Blow Fish Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a soft, pale yellow with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and just a smidgen dusty in the pan, but it applied well to bare skin with rich pigmentation and blended out effortlessly. It lasted for eight hours on me before fading.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Ready or Yacht
ColourPop Ready or Yacht Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light, peachy orange with warm undertones and a sparkling, frosted finish. It had excellent pigmentation that applied fairly evenly to the lid, but the consistency was looser in the pan and the larger sparkle seemed to make the eyeshadow sheer out a bit when blended. With a dampened brush, this applied just fine, but dry, it had some fallout. The color wore well for eight hours on me before fading.

Salt Water
ColourPop Salt Water Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, reddish copper with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had opaque color payoff that applied well to bare skin. The eyeshadow had a soft, smooth consistency in the pan that made for a very blendable product on the lid that also went on evenly. It started to show signs of fading after eight hours of wear.

ColourPop Beach Blanket Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage, though it took two layers for full coverage, that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely. The consistency was smooth, soft without being dusty or too thin. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Sea Stars
ColourPop Sea Stars Pressed Powder Shadow ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. It had fantastic color payoff that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with little effort. The texture was smooth, finely-milled, and almost creamy as it had substance but was still very blendable. This shade lasted for eight and a half hours on me.

Cannonball
ColourPop Canonball Pressed Pigment ($5.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium orange with warm undertones and a matte finish. This seemed like a great example of what a “true orange” is. The downside is that it’s actually a Pressed Pigment, which is code for “not safe for eyes.” It was richly pigmented and had a soft, blendable consistency that applied well without losing its intensity. I had initially worn it as an eyeshadow, where it lasted for eight hours, but I re-tested it as a blush, where it lasted for almost nine hours on me.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing." The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they're not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.
The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

I’m haveing a “Can I get one of Everything” moment. lol
Aww!!
Ready or Yacht is a likely purchase for me — a little warm sparkle would hit the spot. Salt Water and Sea Stars also caught my eye, but I have close-enough dupes (ABH China Rose and UD Riff respectively) so I can consider that money saved.
China Rose and Riff are close enough to skip!
Loving Blowfish and Salt Water! I likely can dupe both, along with the rest of these. Yep, I do have MAC Rule. Need to bring that one out again soon!
Summer time is a perfect time for Rule!
These are so pretty, esp. love the shimmery peaches but I have enough warm brown and orange/peach shadows for now
A lot of these shades we’ve seen, but it is nice to have some budget options!
Wow, these are all beautiful and reviewed really well. You have to hand it to Colour Pop, they are pretty consistent in there production.
They have some great products!
I’m not a fan of these orangey shades myself, but all those A’s are awesome!!!!
It’s nice to see! 😀
I’ve got Salt Water and Cannonball on my wishlist.
Great picks, Betty!
Oh how I wish Cannonball was safe for eyes! I love a good true orange.
Me too! 🙁
Thats a bummer about Cannonball 🙁
I know!
I really like Blow Fish! What a nice, brightening colour.
It is! Very versatile.
Very pretty orangey shades for summer and a gorgeous eye look going there Christine.
I am not sure that its worth purchasing these colours as singles, seeing that so many palettes include these shades in them now.
That is a good point, Genevieve!
Blow Fish and Sea Stars are my favs!
I’m so getting these new 12 shades! Much more cool than UD Naked Heat and the price is right on except…out of stock. 🙁
Awww!
