What were your favorites from the last month? Black Moon Cosmetics Bioluminescent Moonlighter in Squid. Natasha Denona Mini in Golden Coral and light highlight. Chanel Bronzer Soleil Tan. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. MAC Blot Powder. MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in A Little Tamed. Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows in Ladybird, Set to Stun & Twitterpated. Trish McAvoy High Volume Mascara in Jet Black. HUDA Emerald Obsessions Palette. Limecrime Venus XS Silver
What didn’t impress you? Considering I’m not really buying much and using what I have already, I cannot say there has been much I’m not impressed by.
Did you return anything you purchase? Nope but I rarely do that anyway!
Or successfully resist temptation? We will see in the next few months. Those new MAC palettes look tempting as well as that new highlighting blush.
So far I have resisted that new Hourglass blush. It’s pretty but I really don’t need!
What were your favorites from the last month? Youth to the People facial oil, Estee Edit Treat+Prep+Glow (I should just have a template with that product listed in it!), Buxom Mink Magnet e/s
What didn’t impress you? I got a sample of a cleanser from Murad; I am glad it’s just a sample and that I didn’t give in to the SA’s praise for it because it smells so unpleasant that I can’t even bear to use the sample
Did you return anything you purchase? nope – I’ve been buying very little
Or successfully resist temptation? I caved in purchasing a new blush from Shiseido (and I don’t really need any blush but wanted to try this formula) but other than that and a few skin care “necessities” because of winter weather, I’ve resisted quite well.
Favorites from the month: Pony Glam e/s palette, single Decorte e/s in a green/gold combination (purchased from Toshiya @fudejapan before Christmas), and Kanebo Finishing Powder. I am still loving the Chantecaille Butterfly blush and it is practically the only blush I have used this month. I haven’t worn much makeup this past month.
What didn’t impress: Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation. I couldn’t really get a handle on how the formula performed because I couldn’t find a shade that looked wearable on me. The undertones were all wrong so I tried wearing it a couple of times but always ended up washing it off.
Return anything: No, I rarely ever return anything.
Resisted temptation: I have been resisting everything but the ones that hurt are the Sydney Grace e/s, Viseart Coy palette and many, many lipsticks. This is the longest I have ever gone without purchasing major products. I have said that I want to extend this no buy for awhile, so I will likely not be purchasing anything for awhile.
What were your favorites from the last month? Really into my Berries & Cream palette and also MAC Half n Half.
What didn’t impress you? The new L’Oreal concealers, which I bought like a genius at Walmart, so no returning for me, and then I also repurchased L’Oreal Pro Matte in a Walmart exclusive color. I loathed it so gave it to a friend. Also neither my mom or I enjoyed our samples of the new Hourglass foundation, both of us found it too dry, which is funny because we are opposite ends of the spectrum skin-wise.
Did you return anything you purchase? No, though I wish I had been able to return my L’oreal concealers.
Or successfully resist temptation? I’ve been resisting the new Buxom blushes, but they are so tempting. I’m trying to be better and not buy makeup til the next big sale, but it’s so hard.
Why can you not return the concealers to Walmart? I know I recently returned a foundation that was much too yellow. Just to be sure i looked up the Walmart return policy for health & beauty and as long as it is within 90 days, with packaging it looks like it shouldn’t be a problem.
What were your favorites from the last month? Clinique Blushing Blush in Cupid, Laura Mercier Amethyst Caviar Stick, Guerlain KissKiss Lipsticks in Rosy Boop and Crazy Nude
What didn’t impress you? Nothing to report here.
Did you return anything you purchase? Nope.
Or successfully resist temptation? I didn’t buy any of the YSL lipsticks that were reviewed. They were my biggest temptation.
What were your favourites from the last month?
I would have to say my favourites for the past month has been the rediscovery of my Dior Bonne Etoile quint – not only does it have a deep mint shade and a beautiful blue teal, but also a lovely gold and olive shade, just to make the palette more versatile for me.
On this blog, I have been really impressed with the Sydney Grace shades, especially their shimmers and the quality of their green. neutral and blue shades.
What didn’t impress you?
I thought the Bite Beauty Maple shade would lean more orangey than darker red on me. I still like the shade, but it looks quite different to how it looked on Christine.
Did you return anything you purchase?
No – returns are frowned upon here and I didn’t need to.
Or successfully resist temptation?
I have resisted the temptation to order a stack of SG’s eyeshadows – pouring over the dupe list to make sure I use what I have.
Bonne Etoile – you have that one too? Like Dior’s Empriente du Desert, it’s something that should have been made permanent. I almost didn’t get it (not by choice but because they forgot to call me when it arrived; by the time I called THEM back, there was only one left; the SA I’d spoken with had gone on vacation!). It’s a quint that I always reach for in autumn – those colours are so murky/mellow and gorgeous.
Truly terrifying how many of the above landed on my WL! Especially a ton of SG e/s’s and cheek products. Like whoa!
YSL Rouge Cape and Chanel Patine Bronze are up top, though.
What were your favorites from the last month? I bought myself 4 Pat McGrath palettes in late Dec/January, as a treat for a significant birthday. Totally worth it, they are amazing! (I’m late to the party, I know!)
What didn’t impress you? The Stila Glitter & Glow iridescent trio I got in my Lucky bag isn’t as good as the previous one’s I have, they go on a bit clumpy and I get fallout with with them too. They also seem to be thinner and more sheer.
Did you return anything you purchased? Nope, can’t return makeup or beauty products in New Zealand. I did get a L’Oreal 16 colour cherry themed eyeshadow palette that a) is neutral and not at all cherry coloured and b) swatches nicely but blends away to nothing on the eye. I’d take that back if I could.
Or successfully resist temptation? No, most decidedly not. I don’t really have a limit on my beauty spending and this month it is waaaay higher than normal, not even counting all the stuff I splurged on for Xmas and my birthday. I am waiting until after pay day to make another Sydney Grace order, but that’s in 2 days so not really too much of a stretch 😛 😉 🙂
