Pat McGrath Future Femme, Heavy Petal, Love Potion LUST Lip Glosses Reviews & Swatches
Future Femme
Pat McGrath Future Femme LUST Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a pale, almost milky, pink with cool undertones and flecks of pink and aqua sparkle. It had sheer coverage (though it was supposed to be “medium”) that applied fairly evenly, but the milky quality of the gloss made it more prone to settling into my lip lines a bit. I believe that it looks a bit more uneven than it really was due to it accentuating my natural lip color (which is uneven to begin with ). The consistency was plush, comfortable, and non-sticky to wear. It lasted well for three hours and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$30.00/0.15 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "multidimensional shine" with a "non-sticky texture" that "nourishes" with "exceptional adherence." The opacity ranges from "opaque to transparent." The color coverage really does vary quite a bit, but most of the shades I've tried are sheer to medium in coverage--the brand could be clearer on which shades are opaque.
The consistency has a smooth, lightweight texture that wasn't tacky and was comfortable to wear. For the most part, they didn't seem to sink into my lip lines, which can be a pitfall of gloss. I didn't find the wear time to be better than average--three to four hours--but the formula was moderately hydrating. There was a subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste when worn.

Heavy Petal
Pat McGrath Heavy Petal LUST Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation, as described, that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without emphasizing my lip lines. The gloss had a smooth, plush consistency that was more gel-like but wasn’t heavy nor sticky. It stayed on well for four hours and was moisturizing while worn.

Love Potion
Pat McGrath Love Potion LUST Lip Gloss ($28.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a light-medium peach-pink with multi-colored pearl in a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation (it was intended to be sheer), but it had that milky quality that wasn’t quite even and sat in some of my lip lines, though the shiny finish made it harder to notice from a normal viewing distance. The gloss felt smooth, gel-like, and non-sticky, which made it comfortable to wear. It wore nicely for three and a half hours on me and was hydrating over time.

Mmm, Heavy Petal has me in a springtime way of mind! This one also has enough pigment to double as a super glossy “lipstick”, so it will be mine when Sephora does their yearly Spring Sale!
And, yeah, I hear you on how certain sheerer ones ala Future Femme accentuates uneven natural lip color. Something I also have a problem with, as well. Especially when under specific lighting conditions, oy vey. Those types I only use for toppers.
Heavy Petal is the first of the PMG glosses that I actually really like and see myself picking up.
These look so different from her pictures on Instagram! Love Potion looked like a must-have, but seeing it here, it looks so similar to other milky pink glosses.
Not that most promo photos are realistic, but I am always at a loss at how PMG does swatches!
Typical for the paler milky glosses that I like, they fall into B scoring.. they always seem to settle into lip lines. I had my eye on both Love Potion and Future Femme. I may grab another gloss (I have Angelique from the original), possibly the good all-rounder pink topper Prima Donna, instead. I am so very very glad I didn’t go girl gone wild on this release.
Thank you for the review Christi e. I’ve had my eye on heavy petal!
Gorgeous swatches! Hey Christine, I hope I’m not like the millionth person to ask this, but I looked all over the post, and I was wondering if there’s any info about those absolutely beautiful earrings you’re wearing? I hope I’m not bothering ya, but you have SO MANY cute earrings! Maybe you could do a post about them? Did you get them on etsy? Or some a store? Anyway! Beautiful!
Hi Mariah!
Most of my dangling earrings are from Bella Anela on Etsy! 🙂 Earrings that have more of a defined shape/theme to them, like these, are likely from Ted Baker or Kate Spade (so usually seasonal/limited edition). These are from Ted Baker (last spring), and I don’t know that I ever even saw them online (bought them in store).
Thanks!!! You have great taste!! 😀
