I wanted to do a quick housekeeping update: we’ve redesigned our newsletter (which goes out via email), and we have also added an option to get an email notification after a new post is published as well as a weekly round-up. We continue to offer a daily digest of the day’s posts. You can opt-in to none, a combo, or all, if that makes sense for you. 🙂

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.

Most loved product of the week: Darling Girl loose pigment in Unicorn Frappuccino (sic). It’s really pretty and suits its name.

Most used product of the week: Bhcosmetics Carli Bybel palette; peach and coral blushes.

Any new beauty discoveries?: not this week

My skin tone/coloring: NW10/15 (probably about a 13 right now)
Most loved product of the week: Dior Diorshow mascara. This product…HG material here. Nearly all mascaras flake on me, even the waterproof, but this sucker is a workhorse. It lasts all day, doesn’t make my lashes brittle, and it even has pretty packaging. I used to be one of those people who refused to buy pricey mascara, but I’ll never go back after this.
Most used product of the week: Bare Minerals SPF15 cream concealer. Worth every penny.
Any new beauty discoveries?: Not here, but if anybody wants to point me to a good dupe of MAC’s Red Dwarf lipstick, be my guest. Somebody stole my makeup bag out of my gym locker (WHY??), and while they didn’t get anything too expensive, they did get a few LE products. I loved that shade. 🙁

Mariella Avatar

Oh dear – losing Red Dwarf would be a heart-breaker! I love that lipstick and it’s one MAC should have made permanent. Thanks for the reminder – I should take it out and wear it more often (but I hate the thought of finishing it up!)

Veronica Avatar

It’s such a hard plummy Red to dupe. It’s cooler toned but still has almost a burgundy pull on me. I am very sad to see it go. 🙁

My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Lancôme Teint Idole 24H in N360.

Most loved product of the week: Definitely the Jouer Skinny Dip Eyeshadow palette which I believe is out for delivery TODAY!

Most used product of the week: MAC Oh My, Passion Pearlmate Powder! And Sí Sí Me lipstick, too!

Any new beauty discoveries?: That using ColourPop Prickly Pear with the 2 purplish shades from MAC Oh My Banana eyeshadow palette makes for one gorgeously smouldering summer eye look! Paired it w/ just some slightly smudged black MUFE liner and Nyx Jewel Slide-on Waterproof Eye Pencil plus mascara, and WOW!

My skin tone/coloring: light to medium with warm undertones, MAC NC 23ish/GA LSUVF 5.5/Tom Ford TPF Bisque/Shiseido Synchro Skin Golden 3/MAC Matchmaster 1.5
Most loved product of the week: MAC Next To Nothing Foundation – I tried it as a mix-in with some of my other foundations to play around with coverage and I like the finish and coverage.
Most used product of the week: MAC Cremesheen glasses – trying to use them up
Any new beauty discoveries?: Boscia cleansing balm – I received a deluxe sample in my Sephora play box this month and have been using it for the past week or so. I double cleanse but this does a nice job of taking off the ‘first layer’. Will use up but not sure if I will purchase.

Hey Christine, I think I found a dupe for color for Guerlain Gems! I was at Whole Foods today and found Gabriel lipstick in Wild Orchid. I no longer have mine to compare, so I can’t be certain. But if memory serves me, it looks pretty darn close! They also have a website and are in Target. Any chance you can compare the two?

My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Most loved product of the week: bareMinerals Soft and Smoky palette
Most used product of the week: Milani Candied Toffee Colour Statement lipstick
Any new beauty discoveries?: Not this week.

My skin tone/coloring: NC23, Light, with prominent yellow undertones.

Most loved product of the week: Coppertone Clearly Sheer SPF50 face sunblock!! It dries to a matte finish, and isn’t thick or tacky! I love it because I can layer it and get my full SPF protection!

Most used product of the week: MUFE D-926! It’s a blue purple glittery shadow! I love it on my lower lashline! Its so summery! 😀

Any new beauty discoveries?: St. Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted moisturizer!! My body is like 7 different shades currently. So this helps my pasty legs match my tan arms and shoulders!

Per CCO, guess I was right about nw20 or a tad lighter, also EL Fresco was pretty good. Didn’t get them, though.
Product: despite getting Ulta order and CCO, really love my three sets of Mackenzie collars from the dog show. They are wearing their ?????? Collars now! Expensive, but sturdy, and iirc, they’re made right here in Massachusetts. Yeah, I like the makeup, too.
Used: the Jouer luminizing tint in blush. It certainly took long enough to restock.
Discoveries: well, it’s rear view mirror time. I like Lancôme concealer (again) and EL blush (again.) I got them through Ulta, and chose alluring rose as a dupe for the POC blush. Thanks to the lifesaver dupe list. Too many highlighters in that palette for me. The color is a close dupe. Haven’t had a new EL blush in, maybe 2 decades. Decent. Even the tiny included brush doesn’t suck; blush would be portable without ‘real’ brushes. Got a Tory burch eye palette st CCO, decent enough, but no raves. Does not seem higher end or better conceived than others under the EL umbrella. Packaging, of course, is lovely.

Skin tone: Very pale with cool undertones.

Most loved product of the week: Jouer Skinny Dip Eyeshadow palette. I purchased this the day it was on-sale through Dermstore and it arrived 2 days later to Montana. I have only used it twice but OMG, it is beautiful. Of course it isn’t a stand alone palette as all of the shades are foiled shimmers. The colors are beautiful and they wear without creasing. Just amazing.

Most used product of the week: Australian Gold Botanical Tinted Sunscreen SPF 50. Discovered this after watching a favorite YT channel where she tested sunscreens and this was her favorite. I purchased 3 tubes at Ulta about 2 weeks ago and so glad that I did as they are sold out now. This sunscreen applies beautifully, has a very slight tint which doesn’t affect my foundation color and it doesn’t mess with the texture, application or wear of my foundation. Really love it. The best thing is that it was under $15.00, yay!

New beauty discoveries: Other than the sunscreen above I really haven’t discovered anything. I must confess to having caved and purchased the TF Sweet Peach Palette. I had not intended to purchase it, as I have stated several times, but found it on sale at a small shop that clearly was just trying to get rid of stock and appears she had probably purchased a few to sell in her shop, not sure how legal that is but anyway, I picked it up for less than 50% off. I have used it twice and must say, I am not impressed. All of my hemming and hawing over purchasing it and now it appears I don’t even like it much. It is just meh and I don’t find most of the shadows very pigmented and many are super dusty. Just glad I didn’t pay full price for it.

Erica Avatar

Hmmm I’d check if it was a fake. I don’t find the Sweet Peach to be too dusty or lacking pigmentation. I bought mine from an actual retailer and not a retailer who got it from who knows where. Sounds shady. Js. However, I will say there are too many similar colors and if these colors are not your thing, you won’t be blown away by it. It’s decent quality wise but you can live without it. I only got mine bc I needed to spend $65 at Ulta to be a platinum member. I really wanted the Papa Don’t Peach Blush but settled with the palette. I ended up getting the blush from Sephora and it remains the product from that line that’s truly worth it. I like the Sweet Peach Palette but you have to go w a very simple look or you run the risk of getting too muddy imo. But I guess when you succumb to hype your always going to be let down:(

My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Most loved product of the week: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick and my new Sephora e/s in the colour Girls Night Out
Most used product of the week: La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 60, which I use as an eye cream and Bobbi Brown Maui Bronzer (as my blush), along with the Be Legendary lippie – I just love it
Any new beauty discoveries?: Sephora Girls Night Out eyeshadow – it is SO gorgeous! Also, Pixi Glow Lotion (finally found a Shoppers nearby that stocks Pixi)
