Sephora x Disney | Minnie's World in Color Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Sephora x Disney | Minnie’s World in Color Eyeshadow Palette
Sephora x Disney | Minnie’s World in Color Eyeshadow Palette ($45.00 for 0.58 oz.) includes 20 eyeshadows ranging from neutrals to pops of color. The formula is described as “creamy” and “super pigmented.” Both the mirror and the eyeshadows pop out so that the packaging can be used as a clutch. There are some nice shades in the palette, but there are quite a few misses–particularly brighter pops of color with more satin to pearl finishes. The best shades tended to be very shimmery or metallic.

Hello Mickey! is a medium, fuchsia pink with lavender shimmer. It had semi-sheer color coverage paired with a powdery texture, which was really hard to pat in place without it sheering out almost immediately. Mickey’s Squeeze is a medium lavender purple with subtle, cool undertones and a dusting of white sparkle. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque color coverage with a moderately dusty texture. Blue Rhythm is a light blue with cool undertones and a frosted finish. Whoopee Party is a medium-dark, cobalt blue with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had seemingly good pigmentation, but it was incredibly soft and powdery, which resulted in the color getting everywhere and little of it applying evenly. Even over a tacky, white base it proved to be troublesome, as the color tended to apply more heavily to some areas and less to others, resulting in some unevenness. It lasted for seven hours for me. Kaleidos Glowing Iris (Accentuate) (PiP, ) is darker (95% similar). Inglot #388 (P, $6.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Makeup Geek Indestructible (P, $9.00) is lighter (90% similar). Be My Bow is a soft, medium gray with cool undertones and a frosted finish. It had decent color payoff with a lightly dusty texture that wasn’t too difficult to work with on the lid. This shade lasted for seven hours before fading. MAC Frozen Blue (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). CoverGirl Charcoal (335) (P, $4.99) is warmer (90% similar). Why am I not at all surprised that this is pretty crappy?
Aw!
Cute clutch, but what a mixed bag (so to speak!). I love both your eye looks though, Christine.
Thank you, Claire!
Awww, bummer, I was eyeing this one. So adorable, some really unique colors, and can double as a clutch, but glad I didn’t pull the trigger. Reminds me of the Marc Jacob Style Con palette with 20 shadows from the holidays. It’s too bad that MJB or MUFE Artist shadows weren’t in there. Sephora doesn’t have the best eye shadow formula, but they sure try to shoot for the stars (ie Panetone Watercolor palette), and it’s usually a miss. BTW….sorry this is off track, but I know you’re a fan of the Ted Baker makeup bags, and Hautelook has them on sale right now
Their formula seems to have gotten worse in the collaboration palettes!
Thank you for the tip – I saw! I managed to resist, lol!
Definitely not impressed with the way it swatches, but you created some amazing looks!
Thank you! 🙂
Aw, too bad the quality isn’t better because I do love the theme and the colors.
I wish it was better!
What a letdown overall! I’m not a Minnie fan but I know many are. You created some gorgeous looks as usual!
Thanks, Raeanne!
I’m sure I’ve seen an identical palette on here somewhere before …
What palette?
The Minnie’s World eyeshadow palette
I wasn’t interested in this at all but some of those shades are very disappointing.
Some of them were misses!
Cute names for the shades and I like your idea for a clutch. I can see the Disney collectors still liking this simply for the packaging. I wish they would have just made it a keepsake box or something like that. Too many misses in the shadows to make it worth a shadow palette, like you said.
I think they should have considered doing a smaller palette or maybe a clutch and a quad/lipstick/gloss set that fits inside.
Good Idea!
I’m sad that the quality wasn’t as good for others at the Disney Princess Collection ones where solid in comparison.
Me too! They have seemed to get worse in the last couple of years re: collabs.
They had most of this collection at my local Sephora today (except the Lip Cream Satins). I didn’t even want to bother swatching this in store it was so crowded today. 🙁 lol
I thought this looked really pretty but with a C+ rating I don’t think I’ll be picking this up.
It’s not the best 🙁
At least the packaging is cute! *sighs*
True!
I swatched this today in store. Awful 🙁 I am not a big Minnie Mouse die hard, but I know a lot of people were looking forward to this collection. Liquid liners seemed nice though.
Happy to hear the liner seemed good at least!
I have now had it on my hand all day. It lasted through a 4 mile run, and I have rubbed to get it off. It is faded but still there (both white and black)! I am actually surprised. So maybe this will go on my list in spite of the packaging reminding me a bit of a tween collection.
Adorable concept! Too bad the actual eyeshadow quality is LITERALLY all over the place; A-F, geesh! Otherwise, I would buy it in a heartbeat because I, at 57, still LOVE the most famous, beloved mouse couple in history.
I really wish it had been better!
Thanks for the swatches Christine, and your first eye look is beautiful. Unfortunately, this is going to be a pass for me. The quality of Sephora’s eye shadows just aren’t good enough to justify purchasing this(although, as a clutch, it’s really cute).
I totally understand, Mary! It’s cute in theory, but it should be better performing.
It’s a really cute palette but with so many duds, it almost looks like a toy makeup set for kids!
I know exactly what you mean, Lulle 🙁
I’m the only one to look at this palette and see the Michelle Phan eyeshadows look alike???
Nice review as always! 🙂
Thank you, Catherine!
I really love the packaging, but with most of the shades being duds, this is an easy skip for me.
I hear ya! Wish they were better.
They almost got me with the cute packaging lol. I took a field trip to seph today to check out the new stuff. I swatched this and was so let down! The thing is Sephora is perfectly capable of putting out something good. I don’t think anything will ever top the marsala palette at least for me. You still managed to make phenomenal looks! I picked up the blush because it was okay & I wanted to have at least one thing from this collection. I’ll save the $$ for what’s coming from Urban Decay next month!!
I wish it was better! So sad.
I don’t buy Sephora brand makeup on purpose. Their pigmentation is always lacking. I bought and returned the Jem palette, even tho I’m a DIE HARD Jem fan!! I had higher hopes for this collection. I love the look of the blush tho. I wish the brushes were cheaper!!
I like some of their products, but a lot of the collaborations are misses!
Maybe they should have called this the Goofy palette.
lol, aww!
Omg Markiebamboo, you just killed me with this comment! Hilarious! ???
Packaging is very pretty. I like some of the colours in the palette, unfortunately most of the ones I really liked were on the bad side. Oh well, some money saved.
You manage to make the eyeshadows work and make beautiful looks as always.
Thank you, Helene!
This is much worse than I thought – really poor quality eye shadows. The mattes are disgraceful and the shimmers aren’t much better. Lots of dupes for the good colours anyway.
Lovely eye looks you have created Christine.
Aw, thanks Genevieve!
Just confirms my lust for MUFE Ocher Pink. Noted that you can only do 1 discount for MUFE trio per order. So….it’s a store trip and an order. Or 2. S collabs have lost quality. The Pantones were better years ago. Nancy said it about Minnie: it’s all over the place. Just read some reviews on the KVD offerings. Customers either love ’em or are highly disappointed. One comment said that she and a friend both bought the same palette, and that one was great and the other barely workable. Looks as if there may be a QC/ bad batch issue. If S messes with their liners, they are embargoed!
Sadly, batch issues/inconsistencies seem common to KVD, and it is bizarre 🙁
Does Disney actually test these products before they’re put on the shelves? I’m sure they and Sephora are counting on collectors buying just for the packaging, but why would they allow such an inferior product to have the Disney name on it? You’d think the last thing they’d want is for someone to think of a Disney-related product with distaste.
It does make you wonder…
I’m thinking maybe due to my dark skin tone… I like the palette. Colors that are usually very pigmented on let skin, end up looking clownish on me so this was nice to have fun colors but subdued to for my chocolate skin but also with pigment. I’m not a big “eye” makeup lover (lipsticks galore) ….i usually look at your swatches and can determine by the pigment on you how they would fare on my skin. Mostly it’s a NO to your YESes (but that’s not bad, you’ve helped me save money lol) so for a No… I’m not at all surprised it’s a yes for me. The lippies i won’t get cause sephora liquid lips are UGHnoyingly bad and i swatched the lipstick which was blah!!
Thanks
I’m so glad you find my reviews helpful, Mo! 🙂
And then… In an hilarious twist of something I went to open it because I didn’t know it doubled as a clutch and whatdayaknow, it’s broken!! The middle connection link has One not meeting the others and i have a rule, NEVER rebuy anything that has been broken the moment i got it. So tomorrow she goes back and i have no idea what to exchange her for since it was on a Gift Card ??
Oh no!! 🙁 That is awful!
I’m surprised how good it looks on your eyes!! It shows that the colours are workable and you can get a decent result .. hmm ..
Thanks, Dua!
Hi Christine, Thanks for the review. Sometimes, Sephora works with Kendo to produce these palettes. Kendo did the Hello Kitty palette which was pretty good. On the back on this palette, does it say that it was made by Kendo, or Sephora directly? Thanks so much!
I’m not sure 🙁 I took photos of the ingredient list etc. but I don’t keep boxes.
I was heavily contemplating this yesterday. So glad I didn’t get this. Your review just sealed the deal for me. I will definitely pass on it.
Happy to help, Andrea!
Could you please tell me what shadows you used on your eyes? They look amazing!
Do you think Lucky and Sonic could be dupes for Some Like It Dot and Miss Minnie?
I was at Sephora yesterday and saw this palette, the colors look beautiful, too bad it doesn’t perform well

I feel like I’m the only one who loves this ? I wore it today and thought it was beautiful on the lids and pretty easy to work with
Great review as always 🙂 I was wondering if the package made any mention of where the eye shadows where made? If so, where are they made? Thanks!
I bought it a few days ago and haven’t had a chance to play with it, but it’s sad to know what to expect 🙁
Packaging for me was horrible, it looked like it was a toy, but I liked the color selection and bought it, in a compulsive buy episode, I’m very disappointed to hear the colors are as bad… It sounds like this will be going back very soon LOL
