Persona Identity Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Identity
Pérsona Identity Eyeshadow Palette Review ($32.00 for 0.48 oz.) includes 12 eyeshadows (each is 0.04 oz.) housed in a slim, cardboard palette. The brand is newer and only has only one product (this one!) available, and it is currently out of stock but a restock is coming soon. The brand described the formula as “highly pigmented” (but then also listed “buildable coverage,” which is my favorite contradiction but the brand’s swatches show opaque coverage, so that’s what I will hold it to). It’s an excellent eyeshadow palette for someone who likes slightly muted neutrals that are semi-opaque to opaque, long-wearing (around eight hours of wear), and very blendable. The shimmery shades had a tendency to “melt” on the lid, which made them more flattering on the lid and apply more seamlessly, while the mattes were easy to use. It is a little heavy on the mid-tones, so it may not work for all skin tones; I would love to see the brand release more curated palettes like these, though.

Humble
Humble is a light, peachy beige with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation with a soft, smooth consistency that wasn’t too soft or too firm in the pan, which made it easy to blend out on the lid without losing all of its coverage. The eyeshadow started to appear faded after seven and a half hours of wear.

Ooh, I love this! I would be very interested to look into any future palettes they release for deeper skin tones.
I really hope more palettes are released!
I absolutely love Sona and I am so happy you reviewed her palette! You can tell she put a lot of effort into it and the colors are stunning! I’m also looking forward to what she plans to release in the future!
It seemed very well-thought through!
Thanks for sharing this new brand with us! Looks promising.
No problem!
Wow, it’s interesting how the colors (at least in the pans) look almost identical to Makeup Revolution New-Trals vs Neutrals palette. I still wish there were more options for those who want more warm brown shades, and less reds/pinks. And also true cool palettes with purples and blues.
I hear ya – there aren’t that many cool-toned palettes!
I hear a lot of people say this, but honestly for a lot of medium to deep skin tones many so called warm palettes aren’t warm enough to not look ashy. I guess this is just the eternal frustration of makeup junkies lol.
Helpful and informational post. Visualizing your comment, I can see how that can happen. As a neutral skinned person routinely dancing around too warm, too cool, I assumed those on either end of the temperature spectrum had it far easier. I see that is a completely incorrect assumption.
This palette has actually been out longer than that one, I believe. This released end of last year IIRC. I got mine right at launch.
Get ready to be shocked; I absolutely love this palette! Yes, it’s very neutral. Yes, I have plenty of dupes. But this is a solid palette for these go-to type of looks! I won’t get it until my stash of similar shades wears down significantly, though. I really do love this one!
I could really see it being a workhorse palette, and I feel like the price is fair!
It feels like viseart Paris Nude and Neutral Matte had a baby! Hehe
When I saw Sonia’s presentation I honestly thought that it was yet another Influencer’s palette. But then I saw the colour selection and I must confess that I find it nicely thought. I wouldn’t mind a few deeper shades though. Nevertheless that would a great everyday palette or for when I travel to my family ( since I never have time to do sophisticated makeup when I am back home haha) .
I agree, Marie-Estelle – I see the thought in the color scheme!
I have owned this palette for quite a while now and really have used it a lot. I purchased one for my daughter as well. She has a medium complexion and loves this palette. It is a good size for traveling, the colors blend really well and wear well on her oilier eye lids. She said that it isn’t like a WOW palette as it is neutral but the quality is good. I have found that it works really well on my pale skin. I hope the brand expands their product line as I am interested in what they will develop.
Happy to hear you’re enjoying yours, Deborah 🙂 How kind of you to get one for your daughter, too!
This looks like the perfect travel palette for me.
It could be!
Exactly what I was thinking, this with a couple of colored eye pencils and you’ve got a nice eye look for a week or two. I had seen Sona use it in her vlog but never considered it would get such a good grade – bravo to Sona!
This is one of my favorite palettes. I totally agree that there are A LOT of midtones, but it’s great. The quality is fantastic and the size is also great. There’s a lot of shadow in those pans. I look forward to the next release.
I have done a little tinkering with mine, I actually yanked out the two mid-tone browns because i never use those, and repressed one with a metallic purple (Tarte Scarlet) and another with a matte black, which I felt was a serious oversight in the shade selection, and then ended up replacing the shade Seductive (the rose gold) with Tarte Dame metallic because it’s a daily use for me, and the Seductive just was not working for me. I travel with this as the only shadow option I bring, and use it often at home.
Amazing palette.
and Bossy is my favorite in the entire palette
I’m so glad you love it, too, Ame! 🙂 You are so creative changing around with the palette!!
“Creative” was not the word my husband used when he saw how much it cost LOL!
But it just works so much better for me this way. I don’t ever use midtoned browns/”transition” colors. I am debating replacing that matte pink “humble” as well with my usual lid color (MUFE I514). I don’t use a lot of mattes, at least mattes that aren’t black or dark brown or dark purple, really.
I love this palette!! I reach it out almost everyday! Your swatches are so wonderful, I was drooling while looking at them! I agree that Persona needs to come up with another palettte soon! Hopefully they won’t change the formula,
Here’s hoping they have more planned soon!
It’s always nice to see a new brand, and have it perform well. I look forward to seeing more from this brand.
Me too!
What a lovely palette, and from a new, for me at least brand.
It looks well thought through, I can see quite a few looks just looking at it. Very pretty
I agree! It’s very easy to use.
This is one very well though out palette. It does contain some of the trendy reddish shades, but paired with neutrals and plums, which makes it a lot more versatile than some recent releases by bigger brands. I could see myself getting a lot of use out of this one, although one deeper brown would have been a great addition!
The palette came out in December, I believe, for its original debut, so it isn’t new-new either 🙂
Ooh boy, this is right up my alley! I’m a little older, so I find all these rich midtones absolutely exceptional. And before anyone gets offended – I don’t mean that we can’t or shouldn’t wear darker tones because we’re older. I’m still in the workforce – blechh – and need to look more or less professional during the week, and my personal aesthetic leans toward a more natural look. And this palette scored really well, too. So OF COURSE it’s sold out! I will totally be watching for the restock.
I wanted to make sure I got the review up prior to the restock (but I think it should be soonish, because it’s been out of stock for a couple of months!) in case I missed the notification.
If I was just starting out my collection, I would have loved this. But I think between the neutral palettes and singles that I have, this palette is super dupe-able for me.
Totally understand your position, Rebecca!
This palette is workhorse! I have traveled with it to Cuba, Miami,& Arizona. It has worked in humid to dry temperatures . Perfect for Brown eyes. If I want to jazz it up I add the Stila Magnificent Metal eyeshadows.
Happy to hear how well it has been working for you, Indira 😀
I love it when you review new brands! Or new to me!! I will keep my eyes open for the restock. i hope she expands her line; I would love to try new products by her!!
It would be great to see more products from this brand!
Does it say the country of origin?
There’s a photo of the packaging in the beginning of the post!
I love the amount of mattes in this palette! It would be so handy and useful for me!
It is a lovely mix of shimmer/matte!
These are really pretty shadows! I love the Maverick shade!
They are!
Maybe it’s the white packaging, maybe it’s the cooler, lighter colors, but this reminds me of the Too Faced White Chocolate palette with a few other Too Faced shadows thrown in there, except MUCH better quality. I’m normally not into such neutral eye looks, but I’m kind of digging this. It’s very well done, in terms of quality and color combos/finishes, very versatile for day or night. I do hope she comes out with more products
It’s sooooo much better, lol!
I like this palette even though it’s for brown eyes where I have dark green-grey. I have dupes for half of the shades though so it’s a pass for me! But nice to have a good palette where you can really pull together a subtle daytime look.
Too many oranges and burgundy colors. Yuck. Seems like almost every palette is following this trend. But just my sour apples as I look bad in warm eyes.
I like Sona although wonder about her recommendations. Glad it scored well. Good for warm girls.
The colors are way too warm for me, but I’ll be keeping an eye on this brand because those shadows look fantastic. I hope they release a cool toned version of this palette!
This seems like a really nice simple palette, I might get it for my sister.
She likes neutrals, this isn’t a huge palette and it’s rated well for the price. Thankfully she just started makeup last year, so she only has what I’ve given to her in her collection. Which doesn’t include any eyeshadow palettes.
A number of things I like here: it’s soft and looks really lovely on your lid (no texture issues). The deeper browns tend more towards neutral ( hate warm browns on me). This would make a very serviceable travel palette. I’m not wearing a lot of eye makeup lately, so midtone washes with a tiny bit of definition in outer crease are my thing.
It’s really though out with a lot of effort but into the different formula. I get that it’s a palette she would have wanted but they need to make another one for darker skin girls.
There is a lot of mid tones in this palette, which I like, but I’m also very fair. lol
Looks like an interesting brand to watch.
This is a jolly good palette for a first time effort – thank you Christine for reviewing a new player to the makeup world. I really like the shades and they seem quite co-ordinated for an every day, versatile look.
Whilst none of the shades are original and there are plenty of dupes for each one, they are housed in one reasonably sized palette that would be quite handy. Love it.
WOW, I’m really liking this. I don’t have a lot of warm neutral colors this looks like a good palette for it without being so warm I’d have no chance of pulling it off. Looks like a perfect gift too for someone who doesn’t have a big stash!
LOVE this palette. Got it at launch & honestly it’s the only thing I wear, have hit pan on 2 shades already. Absolutely perfectly compact & the range of colors is perfect for me. Cannot wait to see what she has in store next!!
