Cours du Soir

NARS Cours du Soir Kohliner ($26.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a dark, mossy green with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one stroke, which was buildable to opaque coverage with two to three passes. The consistency was smooth, creamy without being too wet, and comfortable to use on the lower lash line and waterline.

The Kohliner formula is supposed to be a “creamy eyeliner that is “buildable” and “blendable” that can be used on the lash line as well as on the waterline. The description seemed rather apt, and I like that they described it as buildable. It was definitely an eyeliner that could be smudged if done so shortly after applying (I would apply it to one eye at a time, if you wanted to smudge or diffuse the edges). On me, the color wore well for six hours on my waterline and eight hours on my lower lash line.

Nuit d'Encre

NARS Nuit d’Encre Kohliner ($26.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a bluish black with very fine, navy blue pearl. It had medium pigmentation, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage with two to three layers of product. The texture was fairly soft, smooth, and velvety more than it was creamy (not quite as emollient as the shade reviewed first in the post). It lasted for five and a half hours on my waterline and eight hours on my lower lash line.

Zinc

NARS Zinc Kohliner ($26.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark gray with cool, blue undertones and a semi-matte finish. The consistency was smooth, lightly creamy but not wet, so it set fast enough that it didn’t sink into lines or migrate. I was able to smudge and soften the edges as long as I worked one eye at a time. It had medium, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly on the lash line and stayed on my waterline for five and a half hours and my lower lash line for eight hours.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

That dark olivey green is perfect for pairing with my trusty Empriente du Desert quad! Probably similar enough to my Nyx Golden Olive Retractable Waterproof Eye Liner that I may be able to talk myself out of getting this, but idk, Cours du Soir looks pretty awesome!

Oh my, Cours de Soir! It’s too bad these won’t be at Sephora until May 1, or this would’ve definitely gone straight to my cart for the VIB sale. I don’t need anymore coloured eyeliners, but I love green and you gave it a good rating as well.

I love all three especially Zinc… It’s hard to find a grey shade with a blue undertone! I bet it would really brighten up the whites of the eye subtly!
