Marc Jacobs Cherrific Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Cherrific (880)
Marc Jacobs Beauty Cherrific (880) Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette ($49.50 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, limited edition seven-pan eyeshadow palette for the holiday season. It featured three matte eyeshadows, one satin eyeshadow, and three shimmery eyeshadows. The majority of the eyeshadows were quite pigmented and blendable, though a few shades could have had better textures (either powdery or a little thin/firm).

Decadent
Decadent is a bright white with neutral undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had more semi-opaque, buildable coverage, but the base seemed more translucent with lots of larger flecks of sparkle (which seemed to sit flatter on my skin, so there was a lot less fallout and better adhesion without using a tacky base). The texture felt lightly emollient to the touch, very smooth and had some glide, which helped to prevent fallout during application–even with a dry brush–and resulted in only light fallout over the eight hours it lasted for.

Juicy
Juicy is a bright, very light beige with a satin sheen and subtle, warm undertones. It had opaque pigmentation with a soft, silky-smooth texture, though it was somewhat powdery and had light fallout during application. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Delicious
Delicious is a muted, light-medium peach-orange with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had excellent pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was more velvety and smooth, so there was some substance to it, which resulted in even application that wasn’t prone to sheering out. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Ask For
Ask For is a soft, rosy-mauve with moderate, warm undertones and a smooth, metallic sheen. It was intensely pigmented with a soft, lightly creamy consistency that was dense and had some slip to it, but it wasn’t too dense nor too thick. It wore beautifully for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.

Extra
Extra is a deep berry with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but it did sheer out a bit when applied and had to be built back up. The texture was slightly drier than most of the brand’s mattes and thinner, though not to the point where I’d call it thin. It could have applied more evenly and blended out more easily. There were signs of fading present after eight and a half hours of wear.

Cherries
Cherries is a brighter, coppery-brown base with berry and red pearl that had more of a low-shine metallic finish. The consistency was drier, stiffer, and more challenging to pick up with a brush; it was a shade that worked best with a dampened brush or a fingertip, which helped to improve the color coverage and get better adhesion of the product on my lid. It lasted for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

On Top
On Top is a medium-dark burgundy with moderate, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good color payoff that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was slightly firmer and stiffer compared to the other mattes in the palette, though I didn’t have any issues diffusing or blending out the color on my lid. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

I have and love this palette though I think I enjoyed the white shade more than you! :o) It makes me think of Christmas…mostly because my grandma bought chocolate-covered cordial cherries every Christmas (sorry if I already said this…it just makes me happy).
I love MJB’s eyeshadow palettes and bought this one as soon as it turned up on Sephora. I wasn’t even aware that MJB had a new release so I was pleasantly surprised to see a pretty new palette, and I purchased it without hesitation. I haven’t used it yet but I’m always glad when Temptalia gives a good rating.
I love some of the shades in this so much, and I’m usually not big on pink eye looks. It’s a “maybe” for me. It would certainly have a pretty snow globe effect with the way I’d be using it, then again I may possibly be able to use what I already have to get something similar, idk?
Is Decadent really that bad in application? I could have missed something, but your comments don’t seem to justify a score lower than 1.
Thanks for swatches and review <3
Nope, I’m just a moron and can’t type! It is fixed now.
The shadows don’t appeal to me but this palette design is so adorable.
I’m so excited for this release, I really have enjoyed many of the MJB palettes and Cherries scream Christmas to me. Growing up in Western Australia we never had Cherries except for when we would and go visit family in the Eastern states, which always was around Christmas time and cherry season in Australia.
Did you possibly make an error in the application score on Decadent Christine?
Don’t need it, but the packaging is delightful!
I don’t really care for the shades or the brand as a whole, but this is super cute.
I’ve been wanting this palette since It first came out on the Sephora app but was waiting for swatches and reviews to purchase it. I’ll definitely be ordering it now! Thank you for the awesome swatches/reviews!
I love anything and everything with cherries on top, but this is so disappointing; i feel like i have each shade x10 in my stash already.
A very pretty palette, but the only shade I thought was really lovely was Ask For.
Same reaction here – the only shade I would even wear is Ask For. There really are no other colours in this palette that I’d actually wear on my eyes (well, except Juicy, but who doesn’t have similar shades in multiples in their collection?)
