Marc Jacobs Beauty Glambition Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Glambition
Marc Jacobs Beauty Glambition Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a warm-toned, neutral combination of colors with a slightly smokier leaning. It featured seven shades with four different finishes (velvet, satin, silk and lamé). The eyeshadow formula is supposed to have “lasting, velvety-rich pigment.” I liked the palette overall, but I wish the deepest shade was more blendable as the rest of the palette was pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing.
A few obvious differences between the new Eye-Conic palettes and the previous Style Eye-Con No. 7 palettes: they actually decreased by $10 in price (they used to be $59) with only a slight decrease in quantity (0.21 oz. vs. 0.25 oz.), and each eyeshadow has been named. The ingredient lists differ from shade to shade, which makes it harder to really compare easily, and I saw a lot of similar ingredients but order often varied; they seemed similar to me just by touching, wearing, and applying with maybe slightly higher dimethicone quantities in the shimmery shades and a slightly firmer press (but not stiff) for more matte shades (so less powder kicked up in the pan).

She Was
She Was is a soft, medium beige with warm, yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation, just shy of opaque coverage, that applied evenly and smoothly on the skin. The consistency was soft, a smidgen dusty in the pan, but it applied with ease and lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

The Most
The Most is a light pink with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, a little loose in the pan, so it did not seem as cream-like as other metallic shades by the brand. It had opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and smoothly to bare skin. This shade lasted for eight hours before fading.

Glamour
Glamour is a deep black with subtle, warm brown undertones and flecks of plum and copper micro-sparkle. It was richly pigmented with a velvety texture that wasn’t dusty but felt thinner compared to other shades in the palette. This shade wasn’t as blendable as others in the palette, so it took more effort to diffuse and would be better applied using sheerer layers. It wore well for eight hours on me.

I have so many other palettes in these colors, I wasn’t going to get it. But I have three other MJ’s Eye-Conic Palettes (the Green, Copper & Blue), they all look amazing on, I figure I’ll give it a try. Well, I am not disappointed! This will be my “go-to” everyday palette. When I first opened it, the colors look okay, like many other palettes with this color scheme. But once I put them on, I was pleasantly surprised. They look immaculate, effortless and beautiful! Love the different textures, high pigmentation, easy blending, and no fallout. I have never bought any MJ’s eyeshadows until now, but they won me over. I just ordered the Plum & Purple palettes. To me, these eyeshadows are comparable to Natasha Denona & Viseart. Actually, I like them better than V. Can’t wait for MJ’s holiday palettes to come out!
So glad to hear you’re loving your palette! 🙂
I think this would be a good palette for office looks/business travel
It definitely would work well for either of those things!
This sure looks like a pretty solid “everyday” type of palette with some excellent workhorse shades. Not one I need, though. But if I did, I would consider this one.
Yep! It’s going to be a workhorse for someone.
Not as impressed by any of these as I expected to be. Prob a good thing. We do have a few to go…
Some money saved 😉
This is another set I could see myself loving. 😉
I can see it working well on your skin tone 🙂
Beautiful, everyday wearable colours and I love the different finishes.
