MAC Dddevilish Lipstick
MAC Dddevilish Lipstick

MAC Dddevilish Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “pastel hot pink [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bright, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a creamy, glide-on texture that was easy to apply and use. This shade wore well for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Silly (LE, $19.00) is lighter (95% similar). MAC Gumball (DC, $21.00) is cooler (95% similar). Maybelline Pink Sugar (P, $7.99) is warmer (90% similar). Make Up For Ever C209 (DC, $22.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Bite Beauty Sweety (LE, $24.00) is warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Fetch (LE, $7.00) is warmer (90% similar). Giorgio Armani Shocking Pink (511) (P, $38.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Burberry Primrose (21) (P, $34.00) is more muted (90% similar). Laura Mercier Blush Pink (P, $32.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Cinderella (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, darker, warmer (95% similar). Hourglass I Love (P, $34.00) is more muted, cooler (85% similar). MAC 2 Truths and a Lie (LE, $19.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (85% similar). Make Up For Ever M200 (DC, $22.00) is lighter, more muted (85% similar). Hourglass I Believe (P, $34.00) is darker (85% similar). Bite Beauty #086 (P, $18.00) is lighter, cooler, less glossy (85% similar). Pat McGrath Polaroid Pink (P, $38.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (85% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Rosie (LE, $36.00) is more muted, cooler (85% similar). Urban Decay Bing (LE, $18.00) is more shimmery, darker, more muted (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

MAC Cloud Gait Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “pastel turquoise [with a Lustre finish].” It’s a light-medium, seafoam green with warmer undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer color payoff, which is consistent with the Lustre finish, but the application was terrible. The color clumped together, attached to every imperfection on my lips, and was streaky. I think you’ll need at least a lip primer, if not a good lip liner underneath. It would be better patted over another lip color to alter/mix-in. The color lasted for two hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Vintage Radio (LE, $19.00) is lighter, more pigmented, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Charm (LE, $7.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented (85% similar). ColourPop Raw (LE, $7.00) is darker, brighter, more pigmented (85% similar). Sephora Ouch (49) (P, $8.00) is more shimmery, darker (80% similar). NYX Pistachio (P, $6.00) is lighter, brighter, more pigmented (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

MAC Gold Xixi Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “pastel lemony yellow [with a Lustre finish].” It’s a bright, medium yellow with strong, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a glaze-like consistency that applied without tugging, but the consistency seemed to clump up on itself, like Cloud Gait, but this one didn’t seem to be quite as bad. It was also less streaky. This shade lasted for two and a half hours. Dior Sunny Matte (610) (LE, $35.00) is brighter, less glossy (90% similar). Sephora Primal Instinct (77) (LE, $8.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Covet (DC, $18.00) is warmer (85% similar). MAC Wild Extract (P, $19.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). NYX Citron (P, $6.00) is less shimmery, lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Nifty Neon (P, $19.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). NARS Liguria (P, $28.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). MAC Yellow You Dare (LE, $19.00) is more pigmented, less glossy (85% similar). NYX Orange Blossom (P, $6.00) is lighter (80% similar). MAC Sheer Mandarin (LE, $17.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). MAC St Marks Yellow (LE, $19.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

MAC Plum Princess Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “pastel plummy lavender [with a Matte finish].” It’s a muted, grayed lavender purple with neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had almost opaque color payoff when I tried it. The texture seemed smooth and glided on without dragging, but the finish was more unflattering on–a lot of the more recent mattes have had a more velvety consistency overall, but this emphasized the texture of my lips more. It lasted for four and a half hours but was somewhat drying with some color pulling noticeably into lip lines. NYX Playdate (P, $6.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Make Up For Ever C502 (DC, $22.00) is cooler (80% similar). Illamasqua Posture (P, $24.00) is lighter (85% similar). LORAC Brunch Queen (LE, $17.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Fresh Amour (LE, $19.00) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). KVD Beauty Ayesha (P, $20.00) is darker, less glossy (80% similar). MAC Galaxy Grey (DC, $21.00) is cooler (80% similar). ColourPop Koala (LE, $6.50) is lighter, brighter, less glossy (80% similar). KVD Beauty Requiem (P, $20.00) is lighter, warmer, less glossy (80% similar). KVD Beauty Zero (LE, $21.00) is lighter, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

MAC Vermillion Vee Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “clean, true red [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bright, medium coral-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. It had very good pigmentation with a smooth, creamy consistency that applied with even coverage. The color lasted for six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Tom Ford Beauty Tantalize (Right) (LE, ) is lighter, glossier (95% similar). ColourPop Reverie (LE, $10.00) is lighter (95% similar). Bite Beauty GTA (LE, $26.00) is warmer (95% similar). MAC Rozz (LE, $19.00) is cooler (90% similar). ColourPop Cozy (P, $7.00) is less glossy (95% similar). MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 (LE, $19.00) is darker (90% similar). Bite Beauty Rosehip (DC, $24.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). Urban Decay Tilt (DC, $18.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC You're Buggin', Lady (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, more muted, warmer (90% similar). NARS Annabella (P, $34.00) is darker, glossier (90% similar). Chanel Rouge Impulsif (247) (LE, $45.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury 1975 Red (LE, $37.00) is darker (90% similar). MAC Escandalo (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). Bite Beauty Saffron Fire (LE, $26.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Clinique Poppy Pop (P, $19.50) is lighter, more muted, cooler (90% similar). MAC Mangrove (P, $19.00) is cooler (90% similar). Been waiting for your review on these. It’s a shame some of these didn’t perform better but I will definitely be buying atleast one lipstick just for the packaging – it’s just gorgeous!! Plum Princess is calling me!

Katherine T. Avatar

Ok, I’m getting Plum Princess–it’s a lavender lipstick that I think I can pull off. It has just enough purple and gray in it, so won’t clash against my skintone, hope it won’t make me look dead. Too bad about Cloud Gait such a pretty turquoise-does it mix well with other lippies??

Katherine T. Avatar

I really wish they had made the blue and gold ones lip glosses instead, so they could be toppers for other lippies. And as a gloss, I think the formula would’ve been better and the color more wearable.

Dandy Avatar

I don’t think Christine’s ever reviewed the brand(?), but I have Ka’oir Excite-mint, and it’s a lot like a slightly lighter version of CP Raw. I think I have a comparison swatch picture somewhere, but I’d have to go looking…

Adhishree Avatar

Vermillion Vee and Ddevilish are gorgeous. The rest are super meh. :/ wtf MAC? You don’t HAVE to release new products just for the sake of it.

Tea Avatar

I meant the packaging print if you look at yours and the once on the first post they have fish on them and all look the same unlike the once you have. My only guess is all the print is different on each item, maybe ? Lol

Christine Avatar

The print seemed varied to me on the item – the same type, but the positioning would be different. Promotional images are more static, so it’s entirely possible they shoot one lipstick and then adjust the color/texture digitally. For the shots where you see multiple pieces together (the more artsy shots), that might be a better representation!

Kenna Avatar

Will this only be available from MAC, or can we expect to see it from the other usual stores as well? I can only imagine what a nightmare plum princess is going to be to get ahold of.

Claire L Avatar

Love the pink and red lipsticks, the mauve one looks interesting but a bit too cold for my lips. I won’t be buying them as I have lots of red and pink lipsticks already. I love how the yellow one looks peach on you, goes really well with your eye look, you really pull off the bright colours very well!

GK Avatar

Really disappointed with what mac thinks is an acceptable finished product. No matter what the formula is, it should look decent on. I hope they go back to their old standards, when everything was top quality. So glad to have your swatches & review to save time.

AnnaAckley Avatar

Hi christine! Does Gold xixi lipstick swatch similar to tangerine dream (mac)? I have Tangerine Dream from the Flamingo collection and i feel like they look similar on the lips.

Kylie5 Avatar

Wow. I think I will buy the eyeshadows just to copy your beautiful look. I always wanted to try out a “Rainbow” eye Look. Looks amazing with the Pink lipstick.
but WHO had the idea to call a bright Pink lipstick dddevilish? I think of red When I Hear this Name

Trina Avatar

I wonder if cloud & gold are meant for layering like those estee lauder edit lipsticks.
Definitely have to have plum! I must have all purple lips. Your eye look has me speechless! If only i were about 15yrs younger 🙂

Arpita Avatar

Everything is a pass for me except Dddevilish lippstick, the turqoise blue eyeshadow which u have put on ur lower waterline ; and ur ear danglings( best of all)!!!!

Scarlet Avatar

Honestly, I really don’t understand MAC lately. Those lipsticks could have been really bomb, but “no, let’s make them lustre so they’re completely unwearable”. I think they believe that the colors are very unwearable so they wouldn’t sell and think that if they make them barely visible that would somehow make them less intimidating to wear…What?

Seems to me that MAC needs a new research team since it is really not difficult to check youtube and see that vivid, matte, punch in the face crazy colors is what is getting the love, not a strange wash of blue or yellow that makes you look ill.
please, someone explain me what is going on with mac? why has it been lagging behind sooooo much lately?

(ok, with that being said – the purple lipstick looks completely amazing)

Yen.Lin Avatar

It’s a shame these products (save Vermillion Vee) are underperforming, because the packaging is lovely! By the by, I love your eye look!

Kimmy Avatar

I’m so disappointed in cloud gait. I was really hoping it would be a good true turquoise. I got ionized from the future collection and I’m disappointed in that one too. Oh well. I’ll just keep using my too faced unicorn. Thanks again for your review. I’ll probably get the other lippies for the pretty packaging.

Marissa Avatar

the packaging is amazing, sadly the ones that got my attention performed as i expected, not as good as i thought. (the turquoise one and the yellow, the second performed better than the first imo) and the rest i have dupes but we’ll see!

Samanta Avatar

Plum Princess is very similar to ColourPop’s Cheap Thrills!

Which is a shame, since that is the only color that I liked from this collection and I already have Cheap Thrills.

Well, at least they are very different formulas 🙂

Roxy Avatar

My heart is broken over the aqua & gold one ugggh I was prepared for ultra matte opaque realness lol think ill get the lavender 1 and the pink

Demi Avatar

ou can put the gold/yellow and the blue lipstick on top of other lipsticks to make them more cool toned or more warm toned :)
