MAC Dressed to Thrill Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “soft petal pink [with a Cremesheen finish].” It’s a light-medium pink with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had mostly opaque color coverage, though the creamier, more emollient consistency could look slightly streaky at times. The texture felt firm initially, but as the formula warmed up against the lips, it applied easily. On me, it wore for four hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Tom Ford Beauty Dakota (LE, $36.00) is darker (95% similar). LORAC Pastry Chef (LE, $17.00) is lighter (95% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Will You Be With Me? (P, $0.99) is darker, more muted (95% similar). MAC Fashion Tide Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “warm magenta [with a Satin finish].” It’s a bright, medium cotton candy pink with strong, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had opaque color payoff that applied smoothly and evenly. The consistency was lightly creamy and glided on without tugging on the lips. Overall, it felt comfortable to wear over the five hours it lasted, though it was not hydrating. Maybelline Electric Pink (P, $7.99) is cooler (95% similar). Sephora Whipped Blush (PiP, $14.00) is darker, less glossy (90% similar). Make Up For Ever C206 (DC, $22.00) is darker, more muted (90% similar). MAC Power Driven Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “deep wine burgundy [with a Matte finish].” It’s a deep, reddish burgundy with subtle, cooler undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly but emphasized lip lines slightly as some color settled into the crevices for me. The color wore well for over six hours as well as stained heavily, but it was slightly drying. MAC Media (P, $19.00) is glossier (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Black Orchid (LE, $57.00) is lighter, warmer, glossier (90% similar). Estee Lauder Deep Secret (P, $32.00) is cooler (95% similar). Hello,
I was just wondering, the first color is called “Dressed to Kill” but on MAC’s website they have a very close color called, “Dressed To Thrill.” Are they the same, perhaps? By the way, I love your reviews although I don’t comment. Your reviews have helped me with numerous purchases that I have made or am on the fence about. Keep up the great work and I’ll be watching.

Thank you,
Tammy Lynne

Oh no need to apologize. You’re doing an awesome job! I appreciate everything that you do for us who are interested in makeup.

It’s summer, and the only one that’s calling to me is Power Driven? Go figure! I like that it is one of those very rare deep burgundy shades that doesn’t look painfully splotchy or patchy.

The 2 Barbie pinks may be super difficult for me to pull off. Although back when I was younger and was getting light honey blonde highlights and spiral perms in my hair, those shades looked great on me!

Funny, I was actually looking for swatches for these like, 3 days ago! ?

I don’t really understand the collection, if that makes any sense. I know the fragrances for the Air of Style collection came out a couple months ago (they also launched in my country, NL) and that the lipsticks were Macy’s exclusive. Since you gave us some lovely swatches Christine, are the lipsticks now being released on MAC’s website and counters? I would love to get my hands on Power Driven, but I always thought that MAC was not going to release them in stores or counters, let alone in other countries.

Sorry – I’m just a moron and didn’t even realize the collection launched lipsticks and happened to see them when browsing their site a few days ago. I’m so sorry for my lapse in judgment there! As far as I know, they launched together when Air of Style did!

You don’t have to publish this, but don’t be so hard on yourself! A big dummy earlier up, and now a moron? No way! You’re an intelligent lady with a damn near perfect blog in my opinion…don’t beat yourself up. 🙂

I agree with Sara and Tammy. You’re not a moron, Christine! I love and appreciate your swatches and everything you do for Temptalia and I know a lot of other people feel the same way! I totally understand that you didn’t realize the collection launched lipsticks; MAC was being very vague about this and it could happen to anyone. In fact, it was a total coincidence that I found out this collection even had lipsticks.

Please don’t be so hard on yourself. If only you knew how much you and your work are appreciated! Even if there are mistakes in your posts, you are only (a hard working) human. About a year ago, I started using makeup. Temptalia is one of the BEST things I’ve discovered ever since. Thanks to you, I’ve learned a lot about makeup and now I’m REALLY enjoying it. I don’t care these lipsticks are not available rightnow; I still enjoyed this post and I believe that’s way more important (at least it is to me). <3

I cannot rock candy yum yum it looks neon on me. I tried on pink nouveau and it kind of washed me out. Fashion tide might be the answer. A blue based pink that’s not neon?
