Cream Blush Season: Merit Flush Balms + Tower 28 BeachPlease Tinted Balms Swatches (x13)
Well, spring really is in full-force: lots of cream-based products on the calendar! I have swatches of the just-launched brand, Merit, and their Merit Flush Balm Cream Blushes ($28.00, five shades) and Merit Day Glow Highlighting Balms ($30.00, two shades).
I also have swatches of the three existing and the three, just-launched shades of Tower 28 BeachPlease Tinted Balms ($20.00, six shades). Enjoy!
Magic Hour looks really pretty!
Between these and the cream blush(es) Lisa Eldridge has teased, cream blush lovers ought to be in for a good year! I only have two of the Glossier Cloud Paints and to be honest, I have to use more (of Puff at least) than marketing and reviews would have me believe. I’m still on the cream blush bandwagon in spirit, and hunting for good cool tones. Think I’ll pick up Fenty’s Bikini Martini soon but would also like to try Tower 28.
I have both Glossier Puff and Fenty Bikini Martini, Fenty is so much easier to wear and use. You have more control over the product and it doesn’t fade like the Glossier does.
This is helpful as I’m making a Sephora order today so I can get the 15% off in March. Need a few staples to use the discount on.Going to buy either Happy Hour or After Hours Tower 28 blushes. And Lord Jones CBD lotion for my aches and pains.
I’m more taken in by the Tower 28 shades, plus all the fantastic feedback on how they do. I’m totally digging Power Hour! Perfect bronzey blush for a sun-kissed cheek that’s easy to create.
Yay! I was curious about Merit and the Tower 28 blushes look nice and dewy. Do you think you might also look at Lys’s cream blush that just came out?
Beverly Hills and Rush Hour would be the potential shades for me – I think with cream blushes, you really need to see a review of them first to check whether or not they are right for you. Let’s hope this new brand has done well.
I am in love with Magic Hour! I have been looking for a cream blush in that exact nuance! It goes straight into my wishlist.
Cream blushes are my Kryptonite, and I just ordered 4 of the Merit, 2 Tower 28, and the Tower 28 highlighter balm…
I love the look/concept of this trend but my oily skin is still saying no lol
For anyone interested:
I own two of the Tower 28 blushes (Happy Hour and Magic Hour) and they’re beautiful, emollient, and decently long-lasting. The pigmentation is very strong out of the gate but it blends easily and doesn’t look patchy. It DOES dry down (which is great since I hate a tacky cream blush) and I’ll still notice it on my cheeks at the end of the day if I make sure that I lightly dust it with powder OR just use a setting spray.
The Merit blushes look intimidating in the component but apply much lighter and less concentrated on the cheeks. I’m quite fair and I easily pull of Raspberry Beret, one of the deeper-looking shades. I like to stipple it on with a Sephora Pro Blush Brush directly from the pot onto my cheeks and it blends easily. This blush, by comparison, isn’t as pigmented, isn’t as emollient, and doesn’t last as long for me as the Tower 28 blushes but is equally as pretty.
Thanks for the comments, I looked at the Tower 28s and thought they looked like they might last an hour.
Good to know–BTW the two colours you have are the two I would go for!
Tower 28s Happy Hour and Magic Hour call to me but they look like they would last about an hour.
However, I note that Carla below says they dry down and have decent longevity, so I could be adding one to cart.
So many pretty blushes. I’m not sure about cream blushes though as I hate if a product doesn’t dry down. I find my hair gets stuck on my cheeks, and I also find dog hairs sitting prettily on the cheeks, making me think of a ware wolf. 😀
I do look forward to the reviews to see if any of them would work.
Yay! I have Magic Hour coming this week; I’m glad that’s the shade I picked. I love their lip glosses and after I started following this brand on IG, I couldn’t resist.
