ColourPop Lush Life Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Lush Life
ColourPop Lush Life 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.36 oz.) is a new, limited edition (limited life? randomly available?) palette including six matte shades and six shimmers in an assortment of more tropical-inspired hues. It’s really refreshing to see a more colorful palette from the brand that isn’t monochromatic!
I’d love to see them vary up their releases a bit–neutrals are lovely but maybe not back-to-back for months when you release so much. Some of the more interesting colorful mattes take a bit more effort to blend out or require building, but the palette easy enough to work with and had a good mix of lighter and darker shades to be churn out several different types of looks.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be โhighly pigmentedโ with an โultra-velvety and silkyโ texture that is โlong-wearingโ and โadheres easily to the eyes.โ Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Wild Life
Wild Life is a light-medium, peachy gold with warmer, more orange undertones and a sparkling finish. It was more loosely-pressed and had light fallout if I wasn’t careful working with it. The color payoff was more semi-opaque and only buildable if I used it with a fingertip. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear.

Hotness
Hotness is a bright, medium-dark red-orange base with lighter, tangerine shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. The eyeshadow had opaque pigmentation in a single application, while the texture was lightly emollient, dense but not thick, and easy to pick up with a dry brush. It lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Palm Palm
Palm Palm is a bright, chartreuse green with warmer golden shimmer and a slightly more lime green base paired with a metallic finish. The texture was moderately emollient and a bit more slippery than ideal, so the color had a bit of translucency and moved around more readily. I had better luck using a fingertip to keep it in place and then using a dry, fluffy brush to diffuse the edges. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that wore well for eight hours on me.

Hideaway
Hideaway is a medium copper with moderate, warm undertones–not too orange or too golden–with a metallic finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well as the texture wasn’t too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. This shade lasted nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

On the Prowl
On the Prowl is a dark, forest green with cool undertones and a matte finish. It was green enough not to be a teal to my eye (which usually has a little more blue to it). The texture was slightly thinner compared to the other mattes, which kept it from having powderiness, but it was a little harder to diffuse and blend out in comparison. It had opaque pigmentation that didn’t show signs of fading until after eight and a half hours of wear.

Monsoon
Monsoon is a richer, medium-dark cobalt blue with strong, cool undertones (but not enough to get into purplish territory) paired with a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, slightly drier texture that blended out better than expected. I would recommend using less and building up as necessary, though, to ensure blending doesn’t take too much effort. There were signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear, and it stained slightly.

Nothing ColourPop does catches my eye or impresses me anymore. Iโve lost interest in their constant releasesโฆeverything from them just looks the same to me now.
Theyโve worn me out.
Been this palette really reminds me of Coloured Raine Safari Raine, plus some shades from your palettes, I probably won’t get it. But, it sure would make for an excellent travel palette for summer!
Could it be? A ColourPop palette with an interesting color story and new shades, including dark mattes?? It’s a miracle! I hope they keep releasing palettes like this more consistently, including their collabs and smaller quads and 5-pans, and that they stop making their darker-toned palettes themed after wildlife. But given how utterly one-note and repetitive their releases have been recently, this looks like a step in the right direction. The shimmers here look gorgeous.
Definitely! They are giving us a lot of color right now… and I love it! I’ve always just wished they’d vary it up since they have so many launches, they can easily do two more neutral collections, then something bolder, then a neutral, etc. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing!
This is really gorgeous! I don’t often wear green and blue close to never so I’m skipping this one but just looking at it makes me happy. Love the tropical print palette too!
Yes, it is a colourful palette of bright hues and a change from all of their monochromatic ones – and best of all, no PET glitter to marr it at all.
The palette is of good quality and I liked the assortment of shades that balanced the whole colour story.
I think this would be a great colorful palette for new-ishbies who feel comfortable with their neutral palettes and might not yet be fully embracing colors. This is easy to read. There are lots of trios, even duos, multicolor or monochromatic, to try. Not as bright as you might initially think. Pretty super for easy looks, and the price is CP. MO is this is a win for people who arenโt overstashed.
I have kind of liked some of the launces from CP, but not enough to thinking of buying anything. This palette is something I would buy if it wasn’t for a certain collaboration that I’m eagerly waiting for ๐
But, well done CP making a really lovely palette with an inspiring colour story.
I like this one! Though I wish Wildlife was a bit more strong. The last ColourPop palette I really liked (and ended up purchasing) was the Raw Beauty Kristi At Forest Sight palette! Nice to see deep colored mattes coming back.
