Chanel Rouge Corail, Framboise, Fuchsia, Carmin Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Rouge Corail
Chanel Rouge Corail Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, medium coral-red with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had rich color payoff–was one of the most pigmented shades in the line-up–paired with a creamy, smooth, and soft texture that melted on the lips. The formula was very moisturizing but still long-wearing (five hours). There was a slight, reddish stain that it left behind as well.
The formula is supposed to have “rich colour in a single stroke” with a “satiny” finish. The lipstick pencil twists-up (no sharpening required), and the consistency is incredibly creamy, soft, and smooth. The coverage varied from mostly opaque to opaque, depending on the shade, and the wear time ranged between three to five hours with some shades (like the reds and fuchsias) leaving a stain behind. It was a very hydrating and comfortable formula to wear, but they’re so soft that I felt like it was easy to over-apply the product when there isn’t much product in each tube (0.04 oz. compared to a standard Chanel lipstick, which is 0.12 oz.). Twist-up pencils usually contain less product than a twist-up tube of lipstick, but I wish these had a little more (like 0.08 oz.) or else not quite as pricey. I didn’t notice any scent or taste.

Framboise
Chanel Framboise Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a vibrant, medium-dark pink-red with subtle, cool undertones paired with a cream finish. It’s the kind of color that makes me think of “warm” fuchsia. The texture was smooth, creamy without being slippery, and easy to apply on the lips. It had nearly opaque color coverage that went on evenly and lasted for five hours. The lipstick left a subtle stain behind and was moisturizing.

Fuchsia
Chanel Fuchsia Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and barley-there fuchsia pearl. It had nearly opaque coverage, but you could still see my lip freckle peeking through! The consistency was creamy, moderately emollient but not too slippery on the lips, so while it was comfortable to wear, it did not slide around. This shade wore nicely for five hours, left behind a pinkish stain, and was hydrating.

Carmin
Chanel Carmin Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium red with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly on the lips. The consistency was creamy, soft, and comfortable to wear, though it sat better on the lips than most shades in the range (it appeared to plump up my lip lines). This shade stayed on well for five and a half hours, left a reddish stain behind, and felt moisturizing.

Wow, these colors are pretty, but pricey considering there’s 3x less product than their traditional lipsticks. Thanks for pointing that out!
No problem! 🙂
Rouge Corail looks good to me — red coral, not too dark. It’s going on my list to check out in store.
Can’t wait for you to try, AB!
Dang, I like them all but Framboise is really a stand out. It’s one of those warmer shades I can probably get away with. It looks pretty universal.
Framboise is gorgeous!
Lovely colors!
Christine how do these compare to the Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense? And I was wondering how do the Lip Stylos by hourglass compare as well? Thank you!!
These are softer, thicker in a way (not heavy, but there’s more to the texture). The Hourglass Lip Stylos are more emollient and thinner!
Every single one is a gorgeous shade! Especially loving Rouge Corail in particular. But the paltry amount of product is just a major turnoff. Only catch is that the one listed dupe that is pretty much a dead-on dupe is also DC’d unfortunately. Why Chanel??? ?
Yeah, these are the type of product one would likely finish, which may be a good thing if you have a lot of lipsticks, I suppose 😉
I definitely like the looks of this formula; will have to pick up a shade at some point.
The formula is lovely!
I was scrolling down trying to remember the names of the ones I liked best to mention down here, and I liked them all!!
They’re all beautiful!!!
They are!
Carmin is a glorious red shade – so bright and beautiful. Lovely on you Christine.
Thank you, Genevieve!
So many cons for me with this product but I find myself yearning for a perfect color because I just might get one.
0.04oz for a $34 lip product is absurd to me. But TWICE now scrolling through your Instagram, I’ve found myself thinking “ooh what was that??” to these lip pencils. There’s something about the way they luminously shine for lack of a better term that really draws me.
So yes. I need to strike the balance between a shade wearable enough for plenty of use but not too much or else I’d finish it within a week!
Hi! How do these compare to the Hourglass Girl Stylos?
All a bit too bright for me, but they do look stunning on you.
I bought Rouge Corail (gorgeous!) and a nude one – Beige Rose, I think it is? I like these crayons a lot, but I feel like Chanel could have thrown in a sharpener for the price.
More lovely colours, how I wish they had more of the product in the crayons. Oh, well, I have dupes for some of them.
If I find myself with a lot of cash over after apying all the bills one month I might buy Framboise, such a lovley colour. My favourite is Carmine, but I have F-Bomb, my all time favourite red, so not needing it right now.
