Chanel Camelia Rouge Metal & Camelia Pourpre Rouge Allure Lip Colours Reviews & Swatches
Camelia Rouge Metal (607)
Chanel Camelia Rouge Metal (607) Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour ($40.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brighter, candy apple red with a soft, metallic sheen and neutral-to-cool undertones. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that didn’t build up to full coverage. The consistency had light slip–thin, light, and almost balm-like but it never felt overly wet/emollient–that was comfortable to apply and to wear. The color applied evenly and stayed on well for five and a half hours while the formula felt moisturizing.

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.12 oz. - $333.33 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "satin finish" with "ultra-thin pigments" that yield "full coverage" while also having a moisturizing base. Most shades in the range have a satin to luminous finish--not glossy but they have a luminosity to them that gives the appearance of lighter-weight color and smoother, fuller lips that a true satin finish doesn't have (in my experience).
The texture has a more velvety feel--smooth with great glide but not a lot of wetness, so they go on comfortably but feel very lightweight and thin but don't emphasize lip lines/lip texture. The coverage tends to be more semi-opaque to opaque, so they aren't always living up to the "full coverage" claim.
Most shades wear four hours or longer with some of the deeper and richer hues lasting six hours or more, and the formula has been hydrating for me. They have a subtle, floral scent but no discernible taste.

Camelia Pourpre (637)
Chanel Camelia Pourpre (637) Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour ($40.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich, reddened plum with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single stroke, which applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging. The lipstick had a lightweight, thinner consistency that felt balm-like and looked like it had more slip than it felt. It wore nicely for six hours and felt hydrating over time.

Because I have 3 dupes for Camelia Metal, one very close, two more distant, I’ll be passing on that.
However, Camelia Poupre is going to be a MUST for me! No dupes in my stash, plus it’s totally in my wheelhouse. Love this one!
Both are super pretty, but I’ve got similar shades in my stash, so I can easily pass.
I haven’t brought a Chanel lip stick in a while. These colors are pretty especially Rouge Metal 607. But I’ve been craving pink lip colors lately. Today’s my birthday and I’m going shopping to buy a couple special gifts for myself. Hope one of the stores have Chanel’s spring collection.
Happy birthday, Denise!!
Camelia Poupre is simply stunning and I love a good metallic lipstick in Camelia Metal.
Two lovely lipsticks from Chanel, I think I’ve liked a lot of their lipsticks lately. I find me wanting both of these and I might buy one so it’s hard to chose. I don’t have any close dupe for Camelia Rouge Metal, I was sure I would have at least two. I don’t have any dupes for Camelia Pourpre at all.
Now I hope I’ll forget about these as they are on the costly side 🙂
