As 2017 comes to a close, it’s time to reflect back on the products I’ve reviewed during the past year and share with you my personal favorites. Finally! In 2017, we saw more than just matte with a lot more gloss releases, and it was nice to see a lot of pigmented formulas along with more typical, sheer and shimmery shades. Here’s the list of shades I started with to get down to the 32 you’ll find detailed in this post. I tend to like glosses more pigmented, particularly if they aren’t going to have any shimmer, and if they aren’t high coverage, then I like lots of shimmer!
Though not quite as pigmented as claimed, MAC’s Grand Illusion Liquid Lipcolours were fun and lovely for layering, as they caught and reflected light well. I was happy to see Bite expand their Creme Lip Gloss shade range, while Huda Beauty’s Lip Strobes proved to be well-rounded line-up of shimmery glosses from sheer to nearly opaque in coverage.

My favorite lipglosses this year were Anastasia St. Tropez and Fenty Gal on the Moon. They are both amazing. Thank you Christine for doing these best-of lists. So fun.

2017 is the year I became absolutely obsessed with lipgloss. 2016 was the year of blush. Wonder what 2018 will be ? 🙂

Some dazzlers up there! I’m really not a gloss person but I can get behind a sheer one with good sparkle. I really like the Fenty Glow universal one and I’ve been getting good use of it.
2017 the year of non-purchase. Finally embracing that lipgloss in all its forms is just not my thing.
I’m not huge into lip glosses and I got one this year – Fenty Gal on the Moon. I’m wearing it right now and it is beautiful.
Yasss to the year that brought glossy back! And kudos to brands like Fenty (Universal, Astro-Naughty and Spacesuit for me), ColourPop (Dream Castle and Ponyland) and Huda (Fearless, Shameless and Boujee) for giving us some very pigmented, long lasting, non-sticky formulas with some very unique and creative shades thrown in! Also to MAC for giving us those very interesting Grand Illusion lipglasses!
As I’m about to embark on a low-buy come Monday, I may have to restrain myself from buying MAC Sensory Overload in lieu of my getting something I’d get far more use of; MJ Ch-Ch-Changes. The later of which I may well order today because it’s been on my WL FOREVER.

Not much of a gloss person, but the hybrid VLG floats my dory. With Disruptor from U on sale and (earlier than 17) Deviant from Nars f&f, have all the colors i’d wear. Might pick up Riri’s Gal on the Moon, if it’s still about. As to other non-17 faves, also like the Butter London click glosses, whatever they are called, almost like a treatment. S.t. wear them under harsh matte LLs, after a soak in. The two colors I have are so mlbb, that they don’t change the LL color, surprisingly.
YAY! I have been loving lipgloss lately.
I didn’t buy a lot of glosses this year. My favorites were Bite Beauty Crème Lip Gloss in Lavender Pearl and Peacock Pearl.
I’m so glad that Space Bubble made the list! I wasn’t interested when I saw the Grand Illusion collection online, but when I tested one in person I was hooked. Your end of the year lists are, as always, amazing!
I’m not much into glosses myself only have a few WetnWilds Inez with color that I like but I never been crazy on gloss.
