Makeup Geek Mixtape & Drumroll Foiled Lip Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Mixtape
Makeup Geek Mixtape Foiled Lip Gloss ($15.00 for 0.27 fl. oz.) is a dark burgundy-brown with warm undertones and multi-colored pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in one layer, which would be opaque in two layers. The consistency was thicker but not heavy, and a second layer did not feel goopy or turn the color into a high-maintenance texture. It wore well for six hours on me and was lightly hydrating. There was a touch of color that sat in my lip lines, though.
The Foiled Lip Gloss formula is supposed to wear for “six hours” with buildable coverage (“single swipe for … translucent pop of color” or “multiple layers for … opaque color”). The texture was thicker but not goopy or heavy with a moderate tackiness. They lasted from five to seven hours on me, and they were comfortable to wear and were just barely hydrating overall. The pigmentation ranged from medium to semi-opaque in one pass, and then the glosses were buildable to mostly opaque to opaque.

Drumroll
Makeup Geek Drumroll Foiled Lip Gloss ($15.00 for 0.27 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark magenta purple with cooler, violet and fuchsia pearl. It had medium, buildable color coverage that went on fairly evenly and did not appear streaky. The texture was comfortable to wear, though it was a little thicker and had noticeable tackiness, and there was a touch of gloss that sat in my deeper lip lines. This shade lasted for seven hours on me.

OMG, these look gorgeous!! I can see myself picking up Drum Roll at next MUG order
I love the finish on these!
These are two of the three I loved during the sneak peek!!
I’m really digging these!!!
Woohoo! 🙂
I don’t usually like pearlized lip colors but I do like these (at least on you!)
Thank you, Betty!
DAYUM!
They’re rich!
I think I am preferring this version instead of Lancome’s! The swatches are gorgeous!
Yay!!
Pretty! I wish I could wear those dark colors!
Aww!
Just ordered VIP – since I am so pale, I think it will look ok on me! So glad you reviewed this product even though I can’t wear the ones you reviewed!
Fingers crossed it will work for you, Deborah!
Thank you Christine!
I really like each shade for very different reasons. Mixed Tape reminds me a bit of UD Conspiracy lipstick on steroids. And Drumroll of UD Vice Revolution lip gloss if it were opaque. Why,I don’t know, but when i first saw these, that was my initial thoughts on these.

Not referring specifically to MUG: I like these foiled products, but think it must be aging and my desert lips because they seem to have a tendency to suck in my lips after a couple of hours of wear. They feel great for the first bit only to be followed by horrific shrunken mummified lips. That being said, they are better if I just use in central spot on lip over another full cover lipstick.
