Bait
NARS Bait Velvet Lip Glide ($26.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a bright, cotton candy pink with cool, blue undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that went on fairly evenly. There were very slight “lines” that were visible if my lips pressed together as well as from when I moved the applicator along the edges of my lips. The consistency was smooth, gel-like but not too dense, and comfortable to wear. It lasted for four and a half hours and was lightly hydrating.
The Velvet Lip Glide formula is supposed to have high coverage without being “drying or feeling sticky” while applying like a gloss but looks like a lipstick. They have stronger color payoff, a non-tacky consistency, and a smoothness to their consistency that is a lot like a good lipstick, while they have a plusher, thicker texture that gives lips a plumper, fuller look along with a glossy sheen that is more like a gloss. They develop a more “velvety” finish, which is code for “less shine” after two to three hours, and at that point, they tend to look more like a natural finish lipstick than a gloss. I would classify the formula more as a pigmented gloss than a glossy lipstick, if I had to put it firmly in one box. The formula has a vanilla scent but had no discernible taste to me.

It's supposed to be a hybrid between lipstick and lipgloss that is hydrating, richly pigmented, and comfortable to wear. They have stronger color payoff, a non-tacky consistency, and a smoothness to their consistency that is a lot like a good lipstick, while they have a plusher, thicker texture that gives lips a plumper, fuller look along with a glossy sheen that is more like a gloss.
Some of the lighter shades settled into lip lines, but it varied from shade to shade. The wear varied between three and five hours for me, which is more like a gloss than a lipstick. Disruptor
NARS Disruptor Velvet Lip Glide ($26.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a bright, meidum red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage that went on evenly, though there was enough slip in the formula that a bit of color gathered in my lip lines. The brightness and shininess of the product made that less apparent, so I didn’t notice it at a normal viewing distance. The formula was comfortable to wear, lightly hydratnig, and lasted for six hours.

Impossible Red
NARS Impossible Red Velvet Lip Glide ($26.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a vibrant, coral-red with subtle, warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had rich, opaque pigmentation that applied evenly across the lips. The consistency was smooth, almost gel-like (a little “wet” in feel but thicker) and was easy to spread and maneuver along my lips. It wore well for almost six hours, though it looked more like a satin finish after three and a half hours. The formula was lightly hydrating.

Impossible Red
LELimited Edition. $26.00.
Suck
NARS Suck Velvet Lip Glide ($26.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a creamy, glossy finish. It had great pigmentation that went on evenly, though there was a bit of color that gathered in my lip lines (which became more noticeable after an hour of wear)–not at all bad given the type of formula and shade, though. The texture was smooth with moderate slip, which tempered to a more satin-like finish and feel after two hours of wear. This shade lasted for four and a half hours and was hydrating.

I’m usually okay with NARS’ raunchy product names, but I would never buy anything called Suck. It’s a little insulting.
Totally understand!
Disruptor is beautiful!
It is!
In a mood and exasperated at the misogyny of: Bait, Suck.. So tired of Nars’ nomenclature.
I know what you mean that sometimes it just gets to be OTT.
I just really need NARS to stop giving me a creepy vibe with their shade names……..
All the shades look very pretty and the formula sounds great.
I’d love a gel without stickiness that doesn’t settle into the lip lines too much!
So I might get one of these, and just hope no one asks me what I’m wearing so I don’t have to say “Suck by NARS!”
The formula is really nice!
Did I miss when the launch date is for these colors? Love this formula & won’t be able to resist adding a couple to my stash 🙂
Already launched!
Impossible Red and Disruptor seem like the winners to me color wise but they are all nice. I really want to get these. I guess I just have to decide which spring lippies are more appealing to me; as usual NARS and Chanel are duking it out in my brain for spring updates. Bite and Hourglass are always in mind too but everything there is perm for the most part.
It’s going to be a tough between NARS and Chanel!
I love them all so much. I think I’ll pick up the NYX Buttergloss dupes just to save my $$.
There you go 🙂
Do you think Suck and Playpen are different enough to get both?
To me, they are, since Playpen is deeper/darker and a little pinker, but I’d say it depends on how often you wear that family of shades.
Impossible Red! Oh this one is just right. Reminds me of a strawberry type red, with that pinky-coral hue. On my wishlist it goes!
I would have really fallen for that gorgeous peachy-nude, except that I will NOT buy or wear a product that refers to a sex act, namely felatio, on my lips. Just nasty and juvenile.
If it wasn’t NARS, could refer to something else, but it is, of course, NARS.
Impossible Red is a. really pretty strawberry red. I have an olive skin tone and this shade actually works for me
I don’t really see any shades here that are standing out to me. But I’m interested in trying this formula!!!
The formula is definitely worth trying!
Is Disruptor similar to Le Palace?
